i don't know whyy...but i favorited her. I can't stand Christian-based comedy, but surprisingly, it wasn't! it was just clean. and on TBN. ah, lovely.
yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummmmmmmmmmmmm only one true believable creator exsists, the flying spaghetti monster , all praise his noodly appendages that touch us all........ Peace and Meatballs to everyone,,,,,,, shiver me timbers
this lady is HILARIOUS! she's my favorite comedian. her jokes are so funny! if you like her, she has some really funny dvds out, you should check them out
This is one of my favorite comedians. I live in Williamsburg and saw her live at the historic Kimball Theater. Her stage presence is great! She makes the audience feel comfortable and her southern dialect is like honey. The laughter comes easily, especially for a southern lady like myself. Not only do I relate to Ms.Logan's trials and tribulations... I know that I'll never hear a curse word or inappropriate comment while enjoying her show.
If you do not like clean comedy, then why are you looking at Christian comedians? Family friendly jokes do not work for you until your 5 year old cusses out a teacher and gets in trouble at school! Its called morals!!
You realize you're mixing morals with religion? A person can have morals and NOT have a religion, too.
What I'm surprised with is how you say you're "sorry" for me because "[I] need that stuff". I don't need it; I've laughed at things that are crass or rude at all. However, the way she's presenting these jokes just isn't funny to me.
Acctualy morality comes from a higher source of teaching. So you can't mix them up.
The concept of Good and Evil etc is very much belonging to Spirituality.
If there is no higher being and we all just appeared like this in whatever way you want to pick, then Morals mean nothing because your life means nothing.
Morality comes from people, and so does our spirituality. Peak experiences, sehnsucht, and other such feelings are felt through all human beings no matter culture or nationality. You do not need religion to maintain spirituality.
You're basically saying since I no longer follow a religion, I'm amoral and I live for nothing? I'd believe that people are intrinsically good enough that they desire to coexist with others in joy instead of the constant strife you force with your dogma.
hey, im christian and i love the cursing and vulgar. this lady just doesn't make me laugh. i laugh at some family things too, but just not this lady. oh and i love how you say it doesn't seem funny to "the christian" like all christians are the same in their sense of humor. you can't just asume that all christians are goodie goodies. you make us look bad.
If you are are Christain and you love cursing and vulgar stuff, then you need to get that right with God! Curssin ruins your image and God says not to difile our bodies. That's something you need to take up with God, landwhale007. I don't mind stuff like vilonce as long as it doesn't go to far. But cussing is something I don't stand for!
whoo! amen! God says he is disapointed in those whose souls thurst for voilence; and in the psalms it says to keep your mind clear and your tongue clean
and also i agree with rawrcakes, you should respect other peoples beliefs. you assume that someone without a religion or one besides christian is a bad person. thats not very "christian-like".
Hi, I wanted to chime in on this discussion. Firstly, I'd like to say, as a Christian disciple (not merely a nominal one) I didn't find this clip very funny. This had nothing to do with the "clean[ness]" of the comedian but merely the quality of her jokes. I've watched quite a number of other comedians on the Thou Shalt Laugh DVDs and have found them quite funny.
Honestly, comedy has absolutely nothing to do with profanity, and profanity is only a separate thing which really only helps one who prefers the use of profanity to identify with the comedian more (and thus like them more), or serves to offend those who dislike the use of profanity (obviously feeling a disconnect with a comedian with very different values).
Beyond this, a devoted, Biblical Christian will not only avoid profanity because they don't identify with the speaker, but because they object to the use of such language on a moral basis and know that hearing it will corrupt their own language and cause them to be more inclined to use profanity. The Bible is indeed quite clear that impure speech is sinful, and any serious, Biblically literate, God-seeking Christian is likely to be aware of that.
If not, either the "Christian" is very young in his development of Spiritual maturity, or is not really a true Christian at all. The same goes for violence. We are to focus on what is pure, lovely, praiseworthy. That discludes both profanity and violence. I certainly recognize a desire to view and even partake in violence, but I know that this is the sinful side of me.
Also, in response to landwhale007's final comment, it's not an anti-Christian thing at all to think a person who's not a Christian is a "bad person." In fact, I think it is very much a Christian thing. Paul says that all mankind has sinned and all fall short of the glory of God; the wages of sin is death. A realistic Christian recognizes that all men are deeply wicked, though a Christian has had the very core of him replaced, rejuvenated so he is free to leave this pattern of evil.
Nonetheless, a Christian often falls back into this pattern, especially in this country where most "Christians" are merely those who identify to some degree with Christian values and have no relationship with Jesus Christ, and most who are truly Christians are Biblically illiterate and have never experienced the victory that is possible through walking in the Spirit.
Perhaps I should clarify what makes one a true Christian: a true Christian is one who has believed that Jesus Christ is the Messiah God sent to redeem mankind from sin and the penalty of the death due them, one who has accepted that free gift of salvation, and one who has accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord over all of their life (though this does not mean they will be completely obedient, especially at first).
