i hate this show. the characters piss me off, the songs are obnoxious, and there are random musical interjections that relate none whatsoever to the story plot. sadly, it's unavoidable at home since my sister loves it so much. gaahh why must we be cable-less? -__-
This is just ruined. I can understand wanting to go with an urban, somewhat hip-hop motif. But this is just overkill and completely pisses on the roots of this show, which I'm happy to say I watched from the very beginning and which was in its 3rd season when I watched it in my 2nd grade class.
If they'd have been a bit more subtle this could have been pretty nice. As it is, they have destroyed the show's original legacy. OMG I'm just stunned. :(

At least 30 years from now the old EC still is funny, and as an adult I get the more subtle jokes. Something tells me that 30 years from now, this version will leave people scratching their heads....
If it's wasn't for some of the other content of this show, I would have completely ignored it. The intro theme downright sucks! They could have done a better one or a better hip-hop adaption of the catchy 1970s theme.

What is it that you don't like? The performances by the young cast are great, and although it has a different style than the original, the mission of the curriculum remains the same.
#1. The cast my be talented, no one's desputing that, but what does a lot of it have to DO with reading? What does 'Camera In His head' Hector have to do with READING..he never pictures any WORDS? Also his sister (forget her name) she can copy sounds..fine if you have the WORD to go with it, otherwise what's the point?
#2. They look on laptops to find answers, not books!
#3. The Softshoe Silluettes are wrong! The music is WAY off!
