  • quick question, when using a running rig do you set the bait runner on? or do you use a tight line and let the rod end set the hook? if you use the baitrunner, what sets the hook? Thanks

    Eddy

  • @blahty1984 i use a baitrunner.

    The slack line usually provides enough drag to set the hook but at close range you would need a heavy bobbin and tighter baitrunner.

    Its also important to use a 2 ounce lead+ as well as you need the lead to stay in place whilst the line is pulled through.

  • Fair play mate, you make really entertaining videos, and i enjoy catching up to see what youve been getting up to. Im on my way to chuck a few hooks in for a few hours today, so wish me luck :)

  • Best of luck with your fishing buddy, your on the right track.

    Effort = Success.

  • hate to see the parot mouth. but saying that the lake record on my local suffers very badly, the rest of the fish are ok, just one thats buggerd, percy, buckshole resivour.

  • You do get fish that are constantly picking up baits because they like em so much.

    Of course with all those 2-3 oz leads attached to the hookbait its just a matter of shaking violently from side to side to shed said hook, and ripping the mouth.

    Doing this again and again makes them end up looking like that.

  • Nice to see you and your mate avin a bit of fun those winter days can be awfully slow sometimes.

    Is it one of your winter haunts that you fish each year.

  • Vermuyden lake at Fenland is one of those waters where myself and Martin let our hair down so to speak and just have fun.

    As you can see:)
