This performance is on a DVD that you can purchase on Amazon. It is Andrew Lloyd Webber's 50th Birthday Celebration. I have had this DVD for years. It is ansolutely great. It was a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

I don't think you can really compare Tom Jones and Michael Ball they are both terrific voices in their own right. Michael is really a completely different type of performer. I love both,but Michael owns my heart. I don't think we have to discount one over the other though.

Although I personally think Tom Jones' voice is perfect for this song, I love listening to both versions. Why do so many people want everything to be a competition and to insist that their champion is the winner?

Before I caught these stunning videos of Ball, I had decided that the best voices I've ever heard are - 3) Frank Snatra, 2) Tom Jones, an 1) Michael Ball. I'll take them over the tenors or anyone. They're all fabulous, but MB gets my vote. These videos are overwhelming.

This song is from the musical "Whistle Down the Wind." But this particular performance is from a collection called "Andrew Lloyd Webber 50th Birthday Celebration at Royal Albert Hall." This collection is GREAT and if you are any kind of ALW fan you'll want to see this one. Your english isn't too bad. It'll get better. =)

All things considered, Michael Ball is one of the great voices today - along with Russell Watson, Buble, and Brian Stokes Mitchell. Singers like these are rare. We should enjoy the totality of their talent and accept that there is no perfection - it is the strive for perfection that makes great singers.
