  • J aime ce groupe

  • is great lemmy for ever and ever.... rock and roll .....

  • Nothing beats lighting up a joint, putting this video on, and taking a trip in my personal Silver Machine \m/

  • Lemmy on bass and vocals.

  • Stacia was the first Bez! it looks like hawkwind pioneered the spaced out dancer on stage, which I thought the happy mondays did

  • Load of pretentious shite.

  • I watched the band here in the Netherlands. It was my First Band I went to listen to! I still remember the Performance, with the Dancing lady in Nude! ( I mean real Nude!). Since than it is one of my Favourite Bands, in fact the Bassist was Playing a Rickenbacker 4001 Bassguitar and eventually I bought the samen on! Cool!

  • I remember when this video was aired on totp in 1972, Alice Cooper performing School's Out was on the same show, Alice Cooper no1 Hawkwind No2 in the chart same week, both my favourite bands. perfect

  • haha nik turner in leather pants! Hell yeah!

  • I saw them do this at the Manchester Hardrock on Great Stone Rd about 1973. Best gig I've ever been to in 40 years concert going. Renee and Stacia were both naked that night!

  • Isn't stacie Paul inders mum mean mother of lems mum he is in Lemmy the movie on BBC 4 watch now on I player

  • fuckin mint!

  • nobody has asked who the fit bird is?? who is she ??

  • @hasanrolf Stacia Blake she talks on the video marked Stacia

  • its more the original acid rock..... been there lol

  • One of the loudest bands I ever heard only out done by Uriah Heep

  • space rock. :D

  • Good, but the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain do it better.

  • awsome vid. Is it just me or does the guy on flute look a bit like a young bill oddie

  • I actualy see Hawkwnd in 197? at Kings Cross Scala and they was absolutely awsome.

was out of me box but they was awsome.

  • Hhhhhmmm thank God this bunch sacked Lemmy. They helped create a legend.

  • I'VE GOT A SEWING MACHINE! I'VE GOT A SEWING MACHINE!

  • Something must be seriously wrong with the music of today, if i have to keep going back and discovering these bands of yesteryear. It amazes me to think that these bands would piss all over any of the music of today.,,!

  • Great, love this.... see them at goldsmith college

  • Wow! Incredible one!

A live performance of Mr. Ian "Lemmy" Killmister with Hawkwind.

  • Bless him-but I can't hear a thing of that flute he's playing

  • @emmah491 I assumed the flute was for noise effects, like the "wind" sound

  • This was recorded 7/7/1972. @ Dunstale Queensway hall by the BBC as Hawkwind would not go into the BBC studios for TOTP and said they were a live band and not a studio band. If you want to video something for the single you'd better follow us on the Space Ritual tour. So the BBC went to Dunstable to record the video. Hence it's not in sync. I was in the audience. It was 60p to get in.

  • @yzerbloke You lucky bugger...Was Stacia as gorgeous in real life then...?

  • @baddacoodoo Yes. She was quite tall and BIG on top. I never realised that the clip they showed of this after BBC4's Hawkwind prog was the venue I attended.

  • @yzerbloke Well this song Rocks and so soes the Wonderful Stacia ...i love her xx

  • The girl looks.. interesting.. hot.

Cool band, they should get way more attention.

  • @Individual1991 - this was recorded in 1972. Hawkwind are still going and have a fanatical fan base. To my mind, they haven't produced anything worth listening to since 1978.

  • I love Stacia Blake!!!

  • i can't believe thats lemmy singing here, i like lemmy's naritone voice with motorhead, but he seems to have a much...bigger range with vocal ability here.

  • @outlawcountryman Haha, naritone. Clever. :-)

  • Does anyone have a piece where they only get to 'Sideways through time' and then it sounds like a huge explosion ? I have this bit recorded years ago off a borrowed album and i used it as a lead onto the whole track. Came out well ! I love this - I called my Metal merchandise business 'Silver Machine' even though some people didnt get it !!!!!

  • I think you're talking about Silver Machine (Requiem), which appeared on Live 1979. I think Dave had gotten sick of playing the song, so he decided to "kill off" the song on that album. Of course, they were doing it again by 82, so obviously it stay dead. LOL

  • tripping in the 70's - best song ever!

  • A horse, a horse! My kingdom for a horse!!

Who is the girl? I know she must be an OAP now but - need to know. :O(

  • @CeeBee1949

Stacia, dancer with the band early 70s.

A friend of mine went to art college in Ireland in the 90s & told me there was a mature female student in the same college as she. (Cork I think) "She said she used to be a dancer in a rock band in the 70s. Can't remember what the name of the band was....eagle-something...eagle-flight...."

    "Hawkwind?" I suggested.

    "THAT's it!" she said

"Was her name Stacia?" I said

"Yeah, Stacia. Do you know her?"

Mother of Divine Jesus I said :)

  • @thedarkarse

Thanks for that DA. Yep, lots of stuff on her now. Stacia Blake, who was in essence a part of Hawkwind's act until 1975. A lady with form :O) 49-28-39 actually! It seems that this clip is probably one of the few where she performed wearing something other than just paint. Them woz the days - sigh!

  • @thedarkarse great comment :)

  • i saw them in 1975 in cardiff they were awsome we all got stoned

  • @TheGuitarlegend57 Did you use the name Jehovah and got stoned for it? (Just being cheeky).

  • @ninyae hi no name just you only have 2 inhail 2 get stoned at hawkwind concert dont even smoke now miss those days

  • Great video, it's not live though

  • Lemmy is fucking awesome. The only popular Song of Hawkwind is the one Lemmy is on the Vocals^^

  • @PeterRanzmaus The only reason Lem's on vocals is because no one else in the band could do the re-dub justice.

  • ACID.

  • Top music. Made in 1972 and it's 1972 times better than the sort of 'music' you hear in today's charts.

  • No Lemmy=No Hawkwind

  • Woah! How young does Lemmy look?!

  • @Chainsawmaniacguitar He would have been about 27...

  • Sounds nice ! Much better than the other one from 1982 or 1983...

  • Rockin

  • Now described as Proto-Punk.

Search for Hawkwind at Stonehenge for more inter-gallactic fun and japes

  • THE LEAD SINGER OF THIS 1972 SONG IS A VERY YOUNG LEMMY. THIS IS WHEN HE PLAYED BASS FOR THIS GROUP. HE IS BETTER KNOWN NOW AS THE LEAD SINGER OF MOTORHEAD

  • seeint htme at guilfest!

  • I like Motorhead...But i Love hawkwind..Both awesome bands..shame there aint bands like this around nowadays.

  • @XDeadGirlSuperstarX Motorhead are still on the go, Lemmy's 64 and still rocking, their on UK Tour now

  • yeh, but if you saw lemmy front for hawkwind in 85 then you would think...ahh!

  • When I saw Hawkwind at Stonehenge 1984, Nick Turner was the front man then.

    Good vocals from Lemmy

motorhead were up and running in 1977`ish.

  • ahh, stonehenge 84...the last ever 'real' free festival! ...i know, i know, castlemorten was massive, but pre beanfield is legendary!

  • fox408 1984 was the last free festie. A few years later the technology of mobile phones brought on the possibility of holding smaller Raves! The Castlemorton festie was big. But it seemed to have been arranged by the police to bring on the wrath of Parliament!

Maybe I`m being institutionally paranoid there?

  • nope, i think you are spot on! the thing that amazed me about how we used to gathered for festivals was like we had some kind of in built homing beacon! i know it really freaked the police out because i remember reading a police handout circulated to farmers and landowners stating that the convoy had a forward intelligence unit that organised the movements of festival goers with the use of two way radios! this ability to gather en mass at will seemed to disappear with the advent of mobile phones

  • I don't like this band for some reason...Motorhead Rules!
