  • that dude is so freeken lucky he didnt get hit with shrapnel, lol crazy f...er!

  • Fragmentation, not shrapnel. Shrapnel hasn't been used for a long time.

  • same difference in the end results

  • That's like saying, "shotguns and hand grenades... same difference in the end results." Yeah, both are designed to kill, but they function in completely different ways.

  • fragmentation relies on the casing providing a lethal spray of metal chunks with the casing having pre determined weakness to allow shattering

shrapnel devices usually contain the fragments pre sorted and packed into the charge or around it,

both provide a bigger damage radius.

both work on the same principle.

the difference is that one method is named after a military commander, the other is named after the pricinple.

  • You're correct, except shrapnel specifically contains small balls. Shrapnel would be more similar to a shotgun or a flechette round. Shrapnel is meant to be projected forward while fragmentation is meant to be projected outward.

Of course, both are meant to be antipersonnel functions of a munition, but one is specific (shrapnel) while the other is general (fragmentation). Every ordinance has a potential to cause casualties through fragmentation, but only one specific ordinance has shrapnel.

  • @BossHossV8Cycles Are you in the army?

    Thats what i thought,so stfu

  • @Chocolate777Roblox The incorrect usage of the word "shrapnel" has nothing to do with having current or prior military experience. In fact, not all those that manufacture ordnance have had military experience yet will obviously know more about particular pieces more than any of us. Does his lack of military experience render all of his knowledge moot? Some learn even from those that aren't a part of their "niche" then some use excuses to remain ignorant.

  • Abit long but the " heroic commentary" at the end was priceless :D
