  • Very Clean where did you get your artwork

  • the one thing i don't get is, where is mame installed to? I know it's a stupid question (i'm new to this) but it seems like it's on a seperate computer just for the mame software. The only way i could get this to work is by connecting a cabinet to an actual PC then running mame off that. Can you help me on this?

  • Beautiful cabinet, you should be proud! Did you build it all yourself or by a kit to assemble for the cab? If it's original would you share the plans? I'd really like to build one based off yours.

  • im plannin on buildin one of those. it will have four joysticks, a trackball, a keyboard, light guns, and a pc built inside.

  • NOVICE!!!! FUCKING NOVICE

  • were do you get the preview videos from

  • Awesome machine dude. The screen looks great in there. I'm impressed that the P4 with 1GB runs the preview screens and roms so nicely. I guess if it's streamlined to do so it would make sense. So what OS does someone use for something like this? Anyone???

  • Check out how the pro's do it :)

    Dream Home Arcades

  • MAME TOP 115 in my channel !!!

  • wooooooow, i m starting to build my first cabinet in about 30 days, as soon as i get back too europe, im doing a lot of reading to get things right, your cabinet is just awesome, is there any webpage, book etc you d suggest, hopefully in a few month time i can post a video myself

  • How many games do you have and how long did it take you to get all of them? Nice vid by the way.

  • where did you buy the coin box ??????????????

  • nice project....where can I download that version of mame???

  • can you make one and sell it to me?

  • Very good and this PC is very fast with Mame!

My PC dont is fast like your PC.

    Robinson

    São Paulo - Brazil

  • Amazing - what a great idea

  • how much would these go for?

  • To sell? Not sure... I've seen full units go for a 1000-2000 dollars but it's illegal to sell with any software. you could pretty much just build the unit and the computer and leave it up to the user to get the games on it. There isn't any justifible money in making these unless you can make them for REALLY cheap by making them by the hundred and cloning the setups... trust me, myself and about a 1000 other people have already tried it.

  • oh i see

so where did you get everything to make it?

im refuring to the hardware not the software

  • How did you get that games's previews at mame menu?

  • that's a mamewah.ini setting. setup mamewah and in the ini file for the preview artwork just reference your folder with the appropriate named video files.

  • Beautiful cab. How can I get the preview movies? I'm using mamewah too.

  • Well done mate.Good work.

  • what about delaying the start up for the tv until mame is loaded thats a way to hide ur bios

  • That's the plan... I'd have to do it with a timed relay of sorts.

  • That is a great layout! Could you please email me the file? I will shoot you payment if you would like. Thanks

  • Wow... your mame cab is amazing!, so beautiful..

  • how do you conect the coin opp is it conected to the keyboard or is it more complecated?

  • Using unused inputs from the IPAC to register coin activity.

  • Thanks so much you realy helpd. *Virtual Hug*

  • @leifashley27 I was curious is it possible to put a list of games on one machine? I've got a list of games whhich I would like to put on just one machine?

  • @leifashley27 How much did this cost you? Would you make anotehr to sell?

  • Yeah very cool, way to go. I was wondering, is it pretty easy to get the PC to support an arcade monitor?

  • How did you get rid of the legal notices when running a rom???????

Because that is my next step

  • That is awesome!!! I'd love to have my own MAME cab ^^

  • hey can you help me? i saw in Zophar's domain MAMEWAH is not a frontend with MAME32, just MAME, so how well will MAMEWAH run UMK3? i think it would run perfect but i need to make sure, I don't have a PC now, it crashed, and I know MAME isn't possible on the Wii xP

  • very nice, i have to agree on old games haveing an edge over the modern stuff my PS3 hardly gets used nowadys

  • That is one beautiful cabinet. The perfect cabinet that only exists in my head looks very similar. Now I just need to build it...

  • shit now all you gotta do is:

    get a dual core-

    4GB +RAM

    update GPU

    bigger HDD(for CHD's)

and get the illegal bios files that allow play of the 2k7-2k9 games!

but yeah best one ive seen..but a dual core would do a world of justice..see if you can fit one in that MoBo..?

    BTW great presentation!

  • That mame cab is ONE-DUH-FULL.

  • wow man nice job ..... even though we are in age of ps3 or xbox360 nothing compares to classic games im definately gonna give it a shot myself .... thnx for sharing

  • Isn't it sad? All this technology and new games don't even compare to the stuff from 10-30 years ago.

  • dude u are one lucky bastard!!!nothing compares to the old stuff!have fun playing em!

  • hiya, love your machine, you must be very happy with it. can i ask what version of mame wah are you using and where can you download the preview videos from

  • thats one of the nicest mame cabinets ive ever seen. terrific job man

  • hey great job on the cab. what MAME version did you used for the cab? you should show how it also play the other emulatos.... but over all, Great Job. i cant wait to start my project to build my own.

  • whats the program called for playing the arcade games on that machine

  • MAME

  • Great Cab, is it custom built or did you use some sort of plans? Thanks.

  • How did you hide XP logon, logoff and explorer shell ?!

Could you tell me where i can pick a tutorial, a guide or just some infos to do this!?

    MANYTHANKS!!!

  • How did you get the UI to play video previews like that?

  • That's pretty simple... just download what are called "preview videos" and point the mamewah ini file to that folder for the "snap" folder.

  • By the way, awesome cab! enjoy it!

  • I got mame 0.128 (MAMEUI) and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 isn't working at all (Yes, I have the parent rom which is original Mortal Kombat 3), it was working on 0.127u1 which I was using before, actually I still have a copy of it and it plays perfectly, but doesn't appear on any of the 3 0.128 versions at all! when I type on the search bar and find it, I double click and it tells me I'm missing a bunch of files, what happened? has UMK3 been broken now? does anybody have this problem with this game?

  • I believe there was a change to the umk3 files... sound like you need to update your roms.

  • Thanks for taking the time to show us around and post your setup spec. I'm just gettin started so it's cool to see what people have running.

  • Is there anyway to make my computer just come on with mame, using a interface like yours, without loading windows and not building a cabinet?

  • still need help with that?

  • Look for a program called "instant sheller" it's on the gameEX website. This will load up windows in the background and "shell" into a program (mamewah, mala, etc). Pretty easy to use.

  • Man, Excellent work... I want one!

You say it took 2 years? was that sourcing parts or just getting it to work?

  • The cabinet took about 3 weekends to get right. The bulk of the build went into the configuration and the control panel. It's one of those projects that now doing one, I could knock out in a weekend but spread over 2 years or configuring, building, designing, etc, etc, and then getting married and moving in the middle.

Plus the biggest mistake you can get is to make it "playable but not finished." I think I got to that point and played it for 3 months without any further building.

  • really awesome!

  • nice cab!! what do you think is the best mame to download?? i have mame0126b and mame32++, one plays some roms and the other one plays other roms, i need a mame that would work all roms, so i can use mamewah, please help

  • The best one to use is always the latest but some versions run some games better than others. You can play scud race on 119 pretty well but not on 126. 126u2 has the best dkong though. Just depends on what you're wanting to play. For 95% of the people out there, the latest should be the best build.

  • getting the games to work is the easy u can downlad mame to your pc now and runn tons and tons of game but rigging it up to your arcade machine u need a jammer one and then u need a j pack simply plug it in and sound leads.

what the hard work is is restoring the cab buttons , installing a trackerball etc, but u can get a basic 6 button jamma machine, then get your self a j pack and a old pc hey u have a mame machine

  • That's just magnificent, it really is. By far the best cab I have seen. Wish I was more technically minded to set one up. I'll stick to my PC for now.

  • Thats crazy......how did you get all of those roms though????????????/

  • u r an inspiration....lol thanks for d vid.

  • Thank you man! I look forward to 1) redoing this one, and 2) building another one for my brother... I'll post vids of each as those projects progress.

  • HI NICE WORK!! Can you please tell me how to do that,, Ive been trying to get the front end to work but seem i cant figure it out, pls send me where you download it,,,^__^

  • You can use MALA,easier to use but less customizable than Mamewah.

Anyway, you build up a nice cab dude, now you just have to enjoy it :D

  • thank you I did it! but now im still waiting for my 16.75gb rom files to be completed in the torrents. ^__^
