  • This is amazing. You have inspired me to learn these songs.

  • Wow. Jesus, this is literally soooooo good. I'm so speechless this is pure brilliance and ahhhh!!!!! Are you a professional cause if you aren't then all those music professionals out there don't do you justice, and they HAVE TO HIRE YOU!!! It does seem a little hard to play though.... :)

  • @etphonehome101 Thanks! "Professional" just means getting paid... so yes, I guess? I do take commissions for custom transcriptions and arrangements. There's a link to my website in the description.

  • @GermanSeabass are you ever planning on finishing the other pieces (besides war)? I would love to have these :) Your arranging is amazing!

  • unbelievable man

im not the biggest fan of music of that style, but seriously, listnin to that makes me wanna hear more

  • hey do you know if there is a way to play in a digital piano or keyboard and the notes start to appear on the sheet?

  • Great work, hope it will be finished soon

but in the beginning, i think, the bass line is too heavy

    which program did you use?

  • @badDrMadMax this is sibelius plus some kind of hypercam

  • wow great job. :)

  • Did you write this? Its an amazing rendition. Really is it even possible to do that part of the score with only two hands? Thats probably why there are no notes availble for it, bcoz its impossible. I would just like to know how the xylohpone/marimba part goes

  • Fantastic scoring, I can see a lot of work has gone into this. Check out some of my compositions on Sibelius on my channel!

  • Wow!! Great job! I love it :)

I wish i could do that haha

  • All the shaking... :0 whyyy ? !

  • Notating a sheet in Sibelius 6 is quite easy if you have a MIDI keyboard than writing manually,

I am also a Sibelius user, a very amazing software

Im quite satisfied with it than Finale

    Very Good Arrangement

  • this is the most amazing and entailed scoring of this movies theme that I have ever seen. I have been searching high and low throughout the internet to find some frame of reference to be able to see the chord structures and patterns that go on in this piece. Sir you have truly outdone yourself here. I look forward to your future endeavors.

I must ask how long did it take you to notate this? ( I use Sibelius 6 also its amazing)

  • @rlcompositions Thank you! Glad you like the arrangement. I think 50 hours of work is a fair estimate for what you see.

  • anyway to download the mp3?

  • Wow. You are genius. And you be really bored. :)

Good luck trying to play this, though. I hope your hands are big enough to play those chords.

And than you for doing my two favorite ones (first flight and becoming 1 w/ neytiri.) :)

  • Wow, very nice. This could be a whole medley.

  • @84Fish48Fish You read my mind...

  • Wow, you worked out all this yourself?! It's amazing! Have you tried playing it yourself on piano?

  • Good job dude!

  • Whoa... You're amazing! :D

You did a great job with this!

  • Awesome!

What program is this? The piano sound is very good and you can obviously play piano pieces very accurate with it.

  • @TheSnoozepie This is Sibelius 6 - industry-standard notation software. Works for all sorts of scoring adventures.

  • Completely awesome!

    Just had to say that...

  • siltsan! Fantastic you're amazing Bass

  • hey sebastian, i just wanna say, for like the thousandths time, that you rule

eywa ngahu, atanä mungeyu(lol'd you probably remember me, if you're not too busy, which you probably are xD

  • Is there some way we could download the midi file ?

That is purely awesome, I'm stunned at my screen (And specker that is )

    Wow !

  • Awesome!

  • WOW your WAR arrangement is SICK!!!! AWESOME MAN!!! 100 stars!!!

  • DUDE you ROCK!!! Thanks a MILLION TIME for doing this!! I would be honoured to play this on the piano!! A few days ago i buyed the "original" sheets on the internet. But i love your arrangement! And you arrange is STUNNING!! Outstanding job mate!! 1.10^8**** (i mean a LOT of stars :P)

  • God damn, I wish I could take the time to transcribe music without it losing it's magic but it is a double edge sword-so to speak.

In order to do so one must listen to the song over and over. By the time it is finished the song has lost its magic. Just IMO sadly.

  • Finally, someone who understands. As fun as arranging is - it does precisely that. Most of the songs, with all their melodies, counter-melodies and rhythmic textures are engraved in my head.

    Awesome? Yes. Magical? Not anymore.

  • @GermanSeabass Being in the marching band, I spend more than twelve hours a week practicing the same thing over and over again and I believe playing the music brings it all back. To me it doesnt matter how much I listen to it or replay the same part. Once we get on the field and everything fits the magic comes back =). I do see your point though and you are probally right "Awesome? Yes. Magical? Not anymore"

  • Thanks alot, nice work but how can you strech from a F# to an D# on the next octave, on bar 17?

  • beautiful. im learning to play the piano and its a pain in the ass to practice everyday when theres so much i need to do, but listening to you play inspires me to practice ^.^.. thanks

  • wait wheres the trumpet solo in war... know i wanna play it

  • wow i really love what you have done here. Well done! you are amazing and it must have taken you ages! :-)

  • Hmm. You know, I actually disliked Avatar. Still, cool music.

  • I'm impressed with your work, first heard about you after you rearranged the soundtrack to World of Goo. Very inspiring. I'm surprised how often Horner changed key signatures after a few measures. Though I'm still learning, so it may not be that big of a deal as I think it is.

  • Great!

Whats that program? Send me a privat message, please.

@All: Watch my Video. Past after watch?V= the ID:

  • I use Sibelius 6.

  • fantastic job!!!!

  • GAsp You did War!!!!!!!

  • Awesome piece, no? A few hours ago, I posted another sheet music update; there's a link in the video description.

  • I have decided you are my new god. Haha

    <3

    You are a-freakin'- mazin' though!

  • Nice transcription! You can always use Finale (from MakeMusic) to create your sheet music and listen it with more quality. I personally use a Steinway plugin for the piano. You can also use the Garritan Personal Orchesta plugin to hear your music.

Amm.. this is not spam XD, I just use that software to "copy" some sheet-music and hear it.

  • many people complain that avatars predictable plot lets it down, and i partly agree, but it was a great movie. it had fantastic imagination and a strong message.

wow, this is incredible, ur so musically gifted. i really liked the avatar score. thanks for posting :)

  • you are incredible!!! i LOVED avatar, i LOVED the music, and i LOVE your rendition!!!

  • You are seriously going to arrange the entire soundtrack? ..You are truly amazing

  • I, too, am obsessed with Avatar.

Whenever you watch it, you feel like you want to become one of the people too!

  • you are probably the most incredible person of all time! you rock! excellent work! :D

  • Oh man i loved this movie, YOUR da besT :D

  • omg! it was you who made the website?! awesome, i go on it alot lol. and I didn't know it was a product of one of my favorite pianists on youtube.

  • omg wow this is truely amazing

you actually arranged this?!?!? that is just wow!

  • One word: AMAZING

  • Avatar was truly the greatest movie I've seen in my life, and I thought the music was a huge part of it. Great job so far on the sheet music :D

My favourite theme was the Dorian plagal cadence thing, it cropped up a lot in the film -> 3:53

  • I love the parallel 5ths in War. Oh Horner, you defy everything my music teachers stand for.

  • Someone as obsessed as me! I'm in love with the soundtrack. The movie + soundtrack absolutely amazing. Great job!

  • esta muy padre ya no mer acordaba de esto jeje muy bueno bye

  • That was awesome. Honestly, I didn't have too much interest in seeing Avatar, but now I want to. A lot. D:

Hehe, great job. Can't wait to see the finished versions of those. Don't rush yourself, though :P

  • Awesome man.

  • O>>>>M>>>GOD!!! YESSS

  • Oh my god! Thank you so much!

  • I love your music but did not like Avatar at all. Weak story, acting, script, and most of what makes a good movie.

  • @phillyfan2351 Who cares? I could watch avatar over and over without dialog just for the pretty visual. :)

  • Have fun with that. I'll go on actually watching movies and not just the shell of them.

  • @phillyfan2351 It's like going to an art exhibit, a highly sophisticated one, where the drawings move. It's fascinating.

  • Once again, not necessarily what constitutes a good movie. A movie is not good or bad solely because of the visual experience.

  • @phillyfan2351 What do you say we call truce and just say it depends on personal preference? :)

  • I don't really care whether or not you like it. I'm just saying if you were to actually judge it as a movie then it isn't nearly as good as people tend to give it credit for. It's fine to like a movie despite flaws, but that doesn't mean the flaws still aren't there.

  • @phillyfan2351 That's by your definition of a good movie. Maybe some people (like me) like a sci-fi movie, just for the visual.

  • It's pretty safe to say that a good movie excels in most of the following areas: acting, plot, dialogue, character development, score, and visual effects. Avatar has great visuals. The score isn't bad at all, though I personally don't think it's extraordinary by any means. Avatar disappoints in the rest of those categories. I loved Star Trek and District 9 because they had more than just great effects. Avatar's weak characters and terrible plot hold it back a lot.

  • Well I'm still a visual arts junkie, so I still loved it :p

  • God, I love you at the moment! It's become my all time favourite film (crossing out the due Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton) and you've done James Cameron and James Horner justice by producing it! Can't wait to see the rest!

    Aimee

  • This is beautiful. I can't wait until this is done :D

  • super , dass du das gemacht hast

  • Agreed with most - the MIDI format makes it somewhat soulless. I look forward to seeing/hearing the full thing.

  • So weird to get that obsessed over something, esp. a movie...

  • Moderately obsessed my txìm! :P

Can't wait to hear you play this and to finish the sheet music. I used to putter around on the piano and would love to play the easier sections of this.

    Irayo ma tsmukan.

  • Great

  • I still haven't seen Avatar. I'm gonna try to wait until the hype is over so I can actually form my own opinion about it and not go in thinking it's not gonna be as great as everyone says. Or I'll wait until I can forget that South Park called it "Dances with Smurfs". I don't see the latter happening, though. XD

It's awesome that you put this much work into reproducing such a beautiful soundtrack, though. I'd love to hear you actually perform it.

  • I feel like a live performance of this would work out a lot better than just the MIDI playing it (I'm sure you know that already), so I'll wait until then, but for now, going through your transcriptions is pretty fun.

  • I dont like It very much. It would be easier to transcribe Kyle's performance. But I will want to see Your real performance of this to compare...

  • cant wait to see you play this... :D

  • It'd be awesome to hear you play this.

  • I believe you are using Sibelius, am I correct?

    Very good arrangement!! :)

  • I love the movie's soundtrack. Yummy.

  • Awesome!

  • hear hear

  • Wow... *_* ........ :D
