Молодцы, ребята! Чувствуется русская школа в хорошем смысле этого слова! Отличное исполнение! Хорошие темпы, отличный ансамбль, штрихи, все как надо! Так держать!
It was written originally for harpsichord by Handel, it was arranged by Halvorsen, which is why it is usually called the "Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia"
I agree with hackespitze123, I think I liked Perlaman and Zukerman better (not that I don't like Medianik and Bugaev), but they sound more aggressive. I do prefer this done with the cello than the viola though.
the best one that i've heard for violin and cello. . .i'm studying cello too. . . I hope I can play like the cellist hahahah!! that's a very long time . . . .
Very nice

wat the heck is wrong with professional orchestra players, i myself play violin but when i play i don't move my head and stuff so why do they?
012dude 2 years ago
Three reasons:
1. They have emotions.
2. You don't.
3. They are good professionals and you apparently aren't.

THIS Passacaglia is from Halvorsen N O T from Händel.
But played very well.
Actually it's written for Violin and Viola instead of the cello.

Passacaglia was written by Händel for harpsichord. One hundred years later, Halvorsen edited it for violin and viola.

search passacaglia david and listen to his guitar rendition. Even for anti guitar fans out there it is a beautiful version

This is wonderful! Two extremely talented players, obviously. And Handel makes the world a better place!
(I must say, the cellist is a handsome lad indeed.)

Probably the best passacaglia on Youtube. Better than Perlman-Zukerman...
19931409 3 years ago
I like this one better than the Perlman, Zuckerman arrangement. Maybe I just prefer the cello to the viola?
