You all know who the sideline reporter for NBC was in this game? A fellow named Orenthal James Simpson...5 1/2 months before the murder of the century...
I don't know the name of the song, but I rememeber NBC starting using it in the early 90s when they used to have the New Year's tripleheader. They rarely used it any other time, but they did use it for a short time when they had some regular season college basketball .. but, because of its limited use, it always gives me a special feeling and reminds me of the start of the new year...
yep, I remember the Gator Bowl.use as well .. I think it was the Toyota Gator Bowl during those years. but, it wasn't long before they had one produced for ND that incorporated their fight song .. and, how long has NBC had that deal anyway .. it seems like forever
NBC Sports has aired Notre Dame Football home games since the 1991 College Football season. For some odd reason, did NBC use this theme when they aired the John R. Wooden Classic from 1994-1996? B/c I think I heard it used at the time.
I luv NBC SPORTS COLLEGE FOOTBALL COVERAGE!!!! they need to bring it back!.....i still look foward to watching on new years day!....yeah, who freakin plays that music...? need to know!
are you freakin kidding ne? i wanted to watch this video and its in reality a FEDEX commercial?? Florida state was lucky to win this game. Tommie Frazier outplayed that entire team including Ward. my only regret is that FSU didnt play NU in either of the next 2 years. all you FSU fans wouldhave been embarassed
how do you figure? Nebraska still had a fair chance to make the field goal... the refs didn't tell the kicker to hook it left - he did that on his own
being up 16-15, why cant you blame nebraskas kickoff unit for kicking it out of bounds and giving florida state great field position? Or you'll only argue what you think is beneficial to you huh? lol
what about the 1st kick off where nebraska ran it all the way for a TD and they called holding.. and when they reviewed it.. there was no holding .. nebraska shuda won
Yes. NBC has gone long away from its original formula for ND games. I guess when NBC got the NFL back and decided to over produce those broadcasts for ratings purposes they decided to do the same with ND games. I mean whats up with interviewing Charlie Weis after every blowout loss? What about the winning coach? He deserves the time. The new music sucks as well!
@ciccone39, at this point, they should just drop coverage of Notre Dame football all together. The players on the roster weren't even concieved the last time Notre Dame won a national championship. After years of mediocrity, it's clear that ND football can no longer be honestly evaluated as a significant sports property. If having their home games exclusively on a single network is that important to Notre Dame, their journalism department can start their own network; everybody has one nowadays.

They also used it when they had rights to the Gator Bowl from 1996-2006, before CBS took over and also it was used on some Notre Dame telecasts.

I wish I knew, I know it's in the 1995 Orange Bowl too.
If you get a chance, you should email NBC and see if they can tell you the name of the song.
