Look up "praying the hours" the title in a more Orthodox writing is it called 9th hour? Over the day there are several prayers: Matens, Vespers, Midnight, First, Sixth hour, Ninth hour, and Compline...

If you have a local old church that rings bells on times like 9am and three pm, it is a tradition tied to this where people use to stop for a moment and pray.
