great review. I also was looking for a scope. But i did not want the adjustable focus lens. things i want for my needs are scope to be somewhat low power zoom, BDC and a small optic. Im also looking in the 300-700 price range so i think from your video im going go check out that elcan. Im located in pa too :) but yeah great review, i took alot out of your vid.
@g3seifert.thanks, after rethink a lot of stuff, I think I would get an Elcan as well for a battle rifle / my ACR or any quality light (in weight) red dot would be great out to 100 yds. I think the leatherwood scope would a good replacement to the Leupold depending on how long you want to keep it. Regarding the adjustable focus lens,I would care if I wear a lot younger but once I hit 40 I started using glasses. I'm happy with the Leupold, but if were to carry the ACR all day long I go smaller
@carmas54 . I really enjoyed your video. You seem to have thought out your purchase carefully. I am struggling with making a decision on my own purchase and plan on using my Leupold scope on my StagArms 3G for competing in 3 Gun competitions. Was the CMR2 reticle a good choice or will I get away with the SPR reticle?
@g3seifert The CMR2 will do all sort of duty and I'm glad I got it, but I also want to recommend the Leatherwood CMR series if you you want a good 3 gun scope without breaking the bank. If I had to get another small scope for a rifle the CMR from Leatherwood will be my second choice, you can't go wrong with it. You can also look at a simple red dot from Vortex, the Sparc or the Strikefire. Here is a good Youtube channel that has a lot of great info..."Sturmgewehre"
I really like this set up, I never gave this scope a chance when purchasing my optic, I should've. I'm thinking about it for my socom build now that you said it had .308 capability.this was a really well done set of vids other than I wouldn't have let that wolf man hold my weapon, my god, did you see the hairy arms on that thing ;D hahahhaheheha Im looking forward to your thoughts of the whole set up after you get some rounds down range.
@1AbominAble1 >>> i checked out the ballistics on Vortex.com they have a portal LRBC for the .223 and the .308 out to 800 yds the difference if average of 1 inch between the two calibers. I knew somebody was going bust my balls about my hairy arms. and it had to be you! I'm all man
@MultiSr16 ... you know that's a very god question... I missed that...it does make a difference. I will have to call them on Monday. I'm going to guess 16' inch since that's what M4 setup is these days. Just a guess though. Thanks for bringing that up. The website makes no mention of the recommended barrel length. The reticle manual only mentions that purpose for CQB and only mentions to use M855 when you zero it at 50yds... everything less should fall into place after that.
LT makes a zoom ring extended throw arm for the mark 4 so your not always bumpin the illumination knob, its very fast when goin from 1.5 to 5., its not on the website, you have to call to order, and its for the mark 4 only, great upgrade to this optic though., check it out
@MultiSr16 Beautiful!!!! I was looking for something like that...Great!....hey I just saw the vid you have on your channel the funny check point video... funny as hell
