He truly is the best Lex Luthor interpretation ever, and I've seen them all. That'd be so cool if they replayed this song when he returns. In my mind it's sort of his theme music, just because whenever I hear this song I think "THIS is the REAL Lex Luthor".

I miss Lex as much (if not more) than anyone. He and Lionel were my two favorite characters on the show and added such dark psychological complexity to it. BUT I think that season 8 and especially 9 have been amazing DESPITE this gaping hole known as the Luthors being gone. That says a lot about the show's quality that despite losing its two best characters, it is still just as strong in so many ways.

To Lawfulness (SPOILER ALERT):

Lex destroyed Clana once and for all. Even though MR wasn't on screen, it was implied that Lex was still alive. Lana stole his super-powered suit to try to use it to help the world and be on equal footing with Clark, but Lex had it embedded with Kryptonite. The result is that she could never get close to Clark physically and so they could not continue to be together.

You are right. He isn't the corny, campy Lex from the Superman movies with Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey. A hero is defined by his villains and Michael Rosenbaum's Lex is a believable threat.

Lex Luthor is undeniably cool...more than a match for Clark Kent. I just wish they would portray him as, I don't know, more powerful in Smallville. It seems like Lex (in the series) gets himself involved in things to big for himself to handle and then needs Clark Kent to save his life. Lame, Lex is the man and now (after Descent) hopefully he'll live up to his genius and greatness.

Great upload. This one scene has been haunting my memories for a while now, but I love it. Lex looks so badass and it depicts the villain darkness that lies within.

yeah there are definatly arguments for seeing Lex as the hero, first of all you almost can't blame him for becoming evil and second he does stand up to foes with enormous powers while being just a regular human. Besides he believes what he does is just. He just wants to be happy and understand things.
