I am trying real hard not to roll my eyes at some of these comments...but people come on! Parachutes can NOT save you from a fall this short. 10 seconds is not even near long enough for a parachute to slow your descent---and even besides this, you would just get tangled in the chute on the way down... On another note, I guess I'm no hero, 'cause I know I woulda just hauled @ss past the laggers once that other building fell (no way would I stick around to help the elderly).

Honestly, I think it was a bad idea to build them as tall as they were, but I would've been the crazy lady with the office on the floor just below the crash trying to save as many as possible.

The evacuation plans, & security measures could definietely have been improved, but it wouldn't prevent many more deaths.

It still amazes me that that many survived at all, especially after that cloud of burning dust & debris.

I've been watching documentarys on 9/11 since I was old enough to remember them.

I was about 2 or 3 when this happened so I can say to grandchildren and etc. that I was alive that day,but I have no idea what that should really mean to me.

Even the fact that I've watched almost everything I can find on it on tv dosn't help.

I may have already been born, but I don't have any memories of it.

I can rarely even grasp the feelings I would've had that day even if I was this age at that time.

@catcat62804 i bet he knew both would come down. I could tell from watching that the conditions where not good. The south caved in on the side and half fell off and all of it came down. And the roof of the north gave and the antenna fell in hitting floors which caused the collapse on the north.

@ynnke the doors to the roof and basement were electronicly locked. But due to the issues cause they could not unlock em from there. And the door for the command center was jammed because when the building was hit, later on 10 mins before collapse all floors started to buckle. Thats why the door got sealed. THe north tower fell due to the roof gave way and the antenna fell in, causing each floor to break off the shell and the antenna in the middle would be heavy it crushed the central core.

These guys had to climb dows 50 or so flights of stairs. Walking. Down. Not up. It's not a big deal. Smoke was not taking over their bodies because there was not smoke. The only thing I can hope is that the people and firefighters had an absolute painless death. All those tons on steel and rumble falling a 1/4 mile at over 100 feet a second. It's the only way I can deal with that happening. I would much rather going like that than jumping to be honest. God bless all in this.
