And how much more, will I have to go through... to prove myself that this is one of the most unique and fascinating song I've ever heard in my whole life?
Holy shit. Every time I listen to this song, it gets even better. I mean, this time I felt shivers and my eyes got filled with tears (I didn't cry though, but this is another question, because I almost never cry). This song is a masterpiece. And the verses are so deep, it's like Nietzsche itself had written them. These guys got a hell of a inspiration.
I just recently came accross this band ATOMIS recommended by a random person on Youtube from an Isis video. Checked them out, and they are awesome. Not much material yet as they are a newer band from Canada and don't have a full length yet. They state explosions in the sky as a big influence. They have a promotional free download here: atomis. bandcamp. com check them out!
i saw these guys live with btbam, and they were good, but disappointingly unfitting. very fucking awesome and intuitive music, but they should play at a more fitting show, such as a doom show or something that is slower and more ambient.
This band's pretty good. I didn't know what to expect at first. They remind me a bit of Cormorant. I think they'll go somewhere after some higher quality recording and definitely after touring with BTBAM
gonna see them open for btbam tomorow nite in milwaukee,wi. btbam is the shit, job for a cowboy is fuckin heavy, and these guys sound pretty awesome. should be a great nite!!!
@0BFUSCATION Meh kinda disagree, there are alot of musicians out there that I don't like but I would never call their music shit and you can't deny that there is music out there that is undeniably shit. Liking or not liking a song IS subjective but the quality of the music itself and the effort that went into it is not subjective (alot of songs are made for the sole purpose of making money and that isnt art).
That's the problem with metal heads. They are so particular about their tastes that everyone else is ignorant for not sharing the same perspective. Its art. Get over it. And listen to Shakefist.
@shakefist1 I would disagree. Metalheads are much more diverse that the majority; 'pop' stands for 'popular' for a reason. However when it comes to anything outside Metal... well I miss the savagery. But it is ok to an extent because Metal absorbs other styles often.
@CyanideSovereign you must not have any metalhead friends and what does pop standing for popular have to do with anything? that itself is a MISTAKE so for that fact alone ur comment should be erased from existence. The basis of ur comment comes from that there are only 2 genres, pop and metal. Ahaha its either ur a metalhead or a complete fucking idiot, since its obvious ur not a metalhead u must be the latter.
@spindleneedle " pop standing for popular have to do with anything?" As I said, I think Metal fans have a wider diversity of music taste than the majority of music fans. Which is a contrary opinion to the guy I was responding to.
"The basis of ur comment comes from that there are only 2 genres" No. No it isn't. Infact in comes from those other genres being absorb into Metal, Jazz, Classic elements and eletronica etc. Making a more diverse sound over the spectrum ov Metal.
haha this is quite interesting, first i had some tool vibes, then the singer started to go more aggressive, kinda the way isis is, then i they take it further and i get slipknot vibes from this :DDD
@seyyjJ You should check out a band from Canada called ATOMIS. They only have one song available for download as of now, but I just saw them live and they were rad!! To be honest The Ocean isn't my favorite band at all but Precambrian is by far my favorite album. I can't even imagine liking an album more, I've had it for a whole year, listening to it regularly, and it still gives me goosebumps. I doubt they even realize what a masterpiece they've created.
@emptycookiejar1 fk you. Between the Buried and Me is good music and this band sounds amazing as well(first time listener). Dont need to bash a band thats good compared to the generic pool of modern day music
@emptycookiejar1 deathcore fucking sucks. get your facts right. its fucking progressive metal. thats like calling cannibal corpse deathcore because they use growls.
@JohnDeathMetal I wasn't even commenting on this video when I said something about deathcore. I was talking to some faggots who were going on about Between the Buried and Me in the comments section. Go check for yourself. I never called The Ocean deathcore. I love this band, they're one of my favorites.
@emptycookiejar1 im talking about btbam. they are not deathcore, and not close to it.. they are musical perfection. and from someone who hates 3 min songs with 4 breakdowns as much as me.
im sorry, but if you think a 18 min long song swim to the moon, with 2 breakdowns/blastbeats in it is deathcore, you dont deserve to listen to music
@JohnDeathMetal No, they are not musical perfection. They're fucking metalcore shit with some progressive traits thrown in. And don't fucking tell me I don't deserve to listen to music, you fucking faggot. Go listen to them, then. I didn't fucking ask you in the first place.
@emptycookiejar1 1. YOU DID ASK ME, and all of youtube, when you posted that comment up there. Thats the point. Any either way, to judge a band, because of a genre (which they dont even belong under anyways)
2nd, what about them is "metalcore" they dont have choruses, they dont overuse breakdowns, they dont have the trendy airy scream, so exactly what do you find "metalcore about them"
"...Between the Buried and Me aren't all that great. Doesn't matter how progressive they are, deathcore is deathcore, and deathcore blows." -emptycookiejar1
Thats like saying you dont like pizza because its mexican food, and you dont like mexicans...

@Cadle1am Yes Tool, dunno why I didn't put them on the list as they are the only band I have two shirts of. Never really listened to The Buried and Me.
This song is so interesting and wonderful...but it's ending sounds unresolved musically. This is good for music tension, but it bugs me! BUT I STILL LOVE THIS.

hhhhmmm... I would have to say that the music is mediocre. The progression of the music is slow. But overall the song is good. I just wish it was shorter...

@baldymort10 Yea, I'm sure that just because I think this music is good, that I don't have a brain. What brought you here?
