Zweisamkeit. I forgot about something. A german video game mag interviewed two japanese game producer. The interviewer asked them why they used a german name for it and if they know the meaning. Of course they did know the meaning (let's never "no") and used it because it sounds cool. The name of the game was Einhänder (one-hand used sword). It's a shooter.
those pencils are specifically drawing pencils :) the pencils used for school work and writing are #2 pencils or also known as HB. They are a specific hardness... There's a whole grade of pencils from like 8B to 6H with the perfect middle grade as HB. So what they are attempting to say is that TECHNICALLY those are drawing pencils, but I guess you COULD use it for anything like writing or drafting lol.....
I don't really understand why they use so much English..I mean nobody there really understands what it means and they of course have their own language..what's the purpose on that?
The PP is short for the chemical composition I think. Like PT or PU bags if I remember correctly. At least, that's something that's printed on our plastic bags sometimes. So maybe PP is for poly-propane(?) I don't know. Could be.
I think you misunderstand some stuff.the memorisation set is not for memo. it's got green/red pens, green/red sheet films inside as you can see.first you write something you want to memorise with the green/red pen on a sheet of paper. then cover it with the green/red film and the words you wrote disappear.A lot of students use this in their tests season in japan.and the unnecessary "The" was just a kinda brand name of the 100 yen store( Daiso) like "Air" of Nike. but I know it's still strange!
you missed a trick with the memorisation - its not referring to a memo...they come with a red and green pen and red and green plastic - you write in black pen, then highlight with the red or green, then use the opposite colour plastic which blacks out everything... its used to hide the text to memorise, you then remove the plastic sheet to check - SO, the english is correct... they use the same method in many study books - i use it for japanese study

@DrownedBeliefs フ isn't really pronounced Foo though, it's more like really soft H sound Hoo. Fuck would be Fakku, but would probably still sound not strong enough unless the japanese person knew to stress the F sound more.
Kind of. It sort of varies in different contexts, like ん can be an 'n' sound in 'han', but it is usually represented as an 'm' in 'shimbun'. 'Fu' is more like blowing air out and it would be rare for the 'hu' sound to be so pronounced. I reckon it would sound like 'furee fukku' if a Japanese person was saying it quickly. I don't know, really, but a funny thought nontheless.
Well, it's not Japanglish, but I was in an American grocery yesterday and I saw some English and French being combined badly "Sans Gluten Free" on a box in the baking isle. "Without Gluten Free". Strange how I've started looking for stuff like that... lol So would that be Franglish or something?
@NekoTengu i guess... bad combination indeed. that or it was done in purpose of marketing in canada? :) maybe i should consider a career in translation for merchandise.
3:04 "règle pour apprendre par coeur" under "ruler for memorization" is french
which is funny because in french the word règle means rule and rulER. we have a lot of rules in french grammar and in my school we used to have these "règles d'apprentissage" which are learning rules if you would... they were designed to help us memorize the lot of it... well i find it funny. anyone?
i also find it quite interesting that somehow a lot of other languages are used in japan. japan-glish > jap-latin?
I would to find a Japanese shirt that the Japanese counterpart to a Japan-glish shirt. That's be so awesome! All my English-speaking friends wouldn't suspect it's just random words xD
Yay! Japanglish for my birthday <3 Now to forget the fact that I'm turning 21... For goodness sake, i watch My little Pony: friendship is magic! This age shouldn't be happening to me -.-
Memorandum: There was nothing wrong with the use of 'the' in those product names. A name can be anything.... I'd prefer to buy the 'the' over an 'a' any day.
today is happy Sunday for me, because today is holiday. by the way, I am going to eat an ehomaki tommorow evening.
