You should check out "Dawkins: Lecture 3. Climbing Mount Improbable (4of 8)", or the whole series if you've got time, this vid explains evolution in really simple terms, the stuff on how the eye evolved is really cool.

you should go to google and ask- what is geology. geologist can determine how old the earth is.
