  • Life is not a video game for anyone let alone for those who join the military. I so appreciate those who protect the American way. Thank you for your service!

  • At ease gentlemen.

  • 205 likes, 0 dislikes. wow

  • Remember the fallen.

  • R.I.P. all those who fought and died in WWI and WWII, and those who continue fighting for our countries today.

  • At first i thought that this was a horrible main theme for this movie since it wasn't actually in the movie, but then I realized that the music perfectly exhibits the theme of the movie, since the theme of the movie cannot be expressed in words.

  • i looking for the song where it a lady that sounds like she mouning and sounds like a sad part of this song

  • @commisarmike What? Lol

  • They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

    We will remember them

  • A little boy, hearing that his Great Grandfather was a soldier in the Great War, asked him what was it like to be a hero.

The wizened old man, looking at the innocence of his Great Grandson, said,

"I was never a hero. I only had the honor of serviing with Heros."

  • @cabbievonbump Is that taken from Band of Brothers? It sounds like it but you just put it in your own words..

  • @berserker276 Not exactly. Although I haven't seen "Band of Brothers" in it's entirety, this sentiment has been going around for years. I first heard it from my Uncle Jack (USMC, WW2, RIP) when his grandson asked him at his birthday party that question. I will admit to paraphrasing Uncle Jack's answer, and will conceed the similarities to other works without debate.

  • @cabbievonbump Don't you mean great Uncle? And so that means he served in the Pacific theatre if he was a US Marine?

  • @berserker276 Nope. Uncle. I'm 47 now, and my parents are the babies of their families. Uncle Jack passed away about 10 years ago.

  • @cabbievonbump Oh, I only have one relative left who fought in WWII, my great Uncle Percy. My dad's dad passed before I was born, and my other grandad died 3 years ago. He was an RAF Sgt.

  • You can do whatever you want, I don't own any words : )

  • Always get the chills when the horns come in.

  • Great Film. Great real-life men who gave their lives in sacrifice, real heroes, real stories to be told, so in the future, mankind wouldn't make the same mistake!

  • hmmm 0 dislikes :D

  • @TheHazegamer And let's keep it that way.

  • @CrownedDaemon hmmmmm.............. *hits dislike button*

  • Brilliant music, brilliant movie. Very moving. Much respect.

  • I have to say that when I see a veteran from WWII or other wars I stand in awe.

  • I feel in 60 years time, there wil be a movie about the current generation fighting in Korea in the 2nd half of the Korean war(2011-?).

  • I had a great uncle who was killed at the Battle of the Buldge and my Grandmothers cousin also fought in Europe during ww2. when i asked him questions about his experiences sometimes he would break out in tears alittle bit, but kept on tellin the stories. my talk with him changed my life as well as this movie. God bless our service men. RIP.

  • nobody dislikes...in reality , who can?

  • In peace, sons bury their fathers, in war, father's bury their sons.

  • @shaun056 where did you find that line, its amazing.

  • @theygotwhattheydeser It's a line from Ancient Greek Historian Herodotus

  • I'm in orchestra and we are Carly learning this price and we are going to play it in the McAllen convention center...don't know when tho

  • we as human beings tend to see a side of the story. it's good we are seeing both the parts of the story.

  • Enemies are now freinds so let it be there is nothing glourious in war,Lest we forget.

  • @frank88202 We must never forget for we will make the same mistakes over and over again, we must learn and forgive.

  • *salutes while shedding manly tears*

  • The Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra, Winter Park, FL just performed this piece in Knowles Chapel, Rollins College. I wasn't keen on it initally as we learned it with the piano. It really grows on you though, and when you sing it for the first time with full orchestra, it is a chilling experience!

  • NO A LA GUERRA

  • Saving Pvt. Ryan, best ww2 movie ever. Next to Saints and Soldiers.

  • I had 2 great uncles who fought in World War 2. One fought and died in the normandy campain and the other fought in the pacific and survived. God bless them. This is my favorite movie, and my favorite theme. Dedicated to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for the preservation of liberty. RIP

  • a salute to WW2 heros,my maternal grandfather was in INA and was prisnor of the japs, was forced to eat rotten leaves, the highest honour and thrill is to fight for one's country and only few lucky are them,

an emotional movie,i wish let every once of us have that spirit of soldier in us..

  • Oorah! Every branch of the Military is respectable...but Marines are toughest of the tough!

  • @JustBreath24 dident saw any marines in normandy or market garden

  • ohh fuk did i write that sorry i was supposed 2 write it DOESNT my mistake sorry i do that alot

  • lets just pray ww2 comes back to haunt us

  • VERRY VERRY sorry thats extremely imbarrasing

  • very well said i couldnt agree more

  • The greatest soldiers join not to kill bad people, but to help good people in need.

  • @yousirareajackass

there would't be people in need because wars, if there would't exist wars, don't you think so?

  • @Elwing135

You´re right, but wars will forever be part of mankind. The instinct to go and kill those who oppose us is as natural to us as our curiosity, ingenuity, and all other vices and attributes that is typical for mankind. And the reasons to go to war are mounting, not decreasing.

  • @Faxe90Swe yes, you are right, but soldiers are just like instruments for the men who decide to start a war. And this men, of course, never fight, they are just sitting in their homes living in peace. If this men wouldn't decide to do wars (wars that have a hidden political or economic interest for them of course), there would'nt be so much wars as there are.

  • @Elwing135

Often the agendas of these decision-makers are the agenda of their nation. For instance, lets play with the thought that the US invaded Iraq for oil: if they did, it didn´t just serve the purposes of a small group of men, it served the whole nation, because the US would break if they didn´t have oil. (Just for the record I personally think that the oil-theory is nonsense.) There must be assholes that sit in safety and dictate the lives of others, how else would it work?

  • @Faxe90Swe just watch the Greenzone movie please :)

  • @yousirareajackass epic quote dude!!!

  • @yousirareajackass Ahh, the man calling people jackass is certainly not the jackass. Its hard to explain to the young people of my Squadron that we are there to protect, and that the best unit clears the ground without firing a round.

  • @yousirareajackass by killing the bad people(:

  • @yousirareajackass can i please steal your quote, lol this one would make a great ideal for other who don't understand :)

  • @yousirareajackass they join to kill and help

  • @yousirareajackass Who are the good people?

  • That is true.....but....in my opinion those who disturb the Peace should die.

We all want this world to be in Peace....but those guys who are killing in Iran and stuff arent helping!

  • I know where you're coming from but killing to instill peace is like hating someone you're in love with. The best way to create peace in the world is to ignore violence and hope the majority will follow in your footsteps when they've seen the kind of person you're capable of being. Just maybe give my advice a try and if you still hold your beliefs then thats perfectly alright.

  • My reason of joining the Army is very simple.

I kill the bastards that are screwing up the peace in the world.

All of those men and Women out there in Iran and stuff are risking their lifes to protect America and the World. And for that i Respect them ALOT.

The Call of Duty and the Medal Of Honour series have made me join the Army for a long time too.

I wanna help everyone out there in the world to fight those bastards and send them to Fucking hell.

  • Now you want to kill the people that you call fucking bastards, because they're calling you a fucking bastard and wishes to kill you?

Let's face it, you for president would lead to every single person other than the ones of the U.S.A. being dead.

The U.S. in WWII wanted to free Europe and stop Hitler, which required killing german soldiers, but they didn't want to "kill the bastards that are screwing up the peace in the world", only bring peace.

  • Well first of all im not America lol

Second. The Fucking bastards are guys like Sadamm Hussein and Bin Laden and other guys. basacly the Enemies of Europe and Asia too not only from the USA.

  • @8899556644 probably one of mine reasons to i live in the netherlands i can enlist when i m 16 only a few months left

  • are/were you in the army?oO

  • errr...no Im just a 16 year old guy who wants to join the army to bring peace to this world.

  • very noble of you, i hope your dreams and future comes true : 3

  • Military doesn't exist to bring peace to the world, it is merely another tool for the State to use. Regardless, someone has to protect and defend the interest of the State, and that is a patriotic endeavor that not many are willing to take. My advice to you is to think if the military is for you, especially if you decide to enlist during war time like I did.

  • Do not enlist for the military based solely on what you play in a video game. Deciding to join the military is a life changing experience. The army isn't a job, it's a commitment and even a family in a weird way. As I said, do not decide to join the military based on movies or video games because you might find out that the army life isn't for you.

  • @HannibalZeGreat I agree to your statement but for me i want to join.I know it will change me and my attitude but somtimes its worth it for protecting your home and family just like those men did those years ago

  • @HannibalZeGreat exactly. Do it for the love of your country, for your family, and for the men and women who have taken the path before and sacrificed so much for you. That is the reall reason to join. Not to be cool like in COD or some BS like that. but for the true reasons. God Bless those in the service.

  • @HannibalZeGreat well said man, ever since i can remember ive always wanted to join the army, for some reason the life style attracts me and i would love to show these dumbass terrorists that when they die their 72 virgins will be men :P

  • @HannibalZeGreat Unless its THIS movie of course, in which case its ok.

Oh come on, you cant NOT want to do something after seeing Tom Hanks do it!

  • @HannibalZeGreat

That's why I like video games. For one, if I die, i get to try again, and again, and again. Real life, the first shot may get you killed if well placed... Second, like you said, Army/Navy/Air Force life may not be for us.

  • Here in switzerland, every healthy male has to do millitary service like it or not, and most people are suitable for the Army if they want to.

  • To all the brave men and women going to afghan or other places to fight, may god bless you guard u, and keep u safe. wish u the best out there. take care

    -a fellow Canadian.

    enlisting in 2years.

  • Ha ha ha. Great advice man. As far as filming, I'm training to be an artilleryman, however, I heard that they don't actually get to shoot the big guns that much because the type of combat over there doesn't call for it. I'll try to film if I ever find myself over there lol Anyways, I gotta go hombre. You keep safe and as I said follow what you think it's best for you.

  • For now I have to complete AIT(Advanced Individual Training), in boot they teach you the basics of combat and all M.O.S. go through the same thing, in AIT they teach you what you're going to train for. Right now I'm on leave until Jan. 3rd then I have to report to Fort Sill for AIT. During AIT I should know where my first duty station is going to be, I wouldn't be surprised if I went to Afghan or Iraq.

  • The 10-weeks I meant were going through boot camp by the way. But good luck amigo. May you have the best of luck in your military career.

  • I like this country well enough to have enlisted and gone through 10-weeks of getting screamed at. Also the experience and discipline that comes with the job, this will come very handy later in life. Overall I don't regret enlisting, I've become a better person in all aspects, and having people shake your hand and thank you for serving the country is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

  • That too I guess. Same old stuff again can be pretty damn boring. As a man who studies history I can see where you are coming from with wanting to be part of history, hombre.

  • @LeeClaxton Without folks defending the State then there is a great possibility you wouldn't be here. Sure, some folks that join aren't the brightest, nor may their intentions be patriotic but as others have said, they're risking their neck out so folks such as you can sleep comfortable at night, hombre.

  • @NobodieCro Glory is eternal, or so they say.

  • "Only the dead have seen the end of war" - Plato

  • Now that i have read you're comment about being part in that war, i do agree with you. I am sorry.

  • No, no, no i get you. I do understand.

  • Don't get me wrong but, do you. Do you really? No one that has fight a war does'nt know s*it about it. I'ts not just fame and glory, stabbing enemies in the back or in a situation when you really have to fight for your life. I don't get a feeling that i "must" go back in time to fight that war.

Allthough the ones that did... I salute. 100 % respect the each one of them.

  • if there would'nt exist an army, wars would also not exist, so why join the army? and saying you would like to fight this war... you really don't know what you are talking about man, wars aren't like in the films... and there are no winners in the war, only loosers, remember this

  • War will exist, because everytime someone will join it, because he's physical, he want it etc. Or he want do it for his God, country(terrorist). Bads will be still. Just to hope not long ;(

    Beautiful music

  • @Elwing135 if countries like USA and England didnt have an army then they'd just be more open to attack and even more people would die.

  • @Elwing135 For the defense of country and interest. I know I joined because even as a foreigner I come to love this great land, and think of it this way, people join so that others won't be forced to join. War is a nasty thing but it's something that has to be done sometimes.

  • no it wasn´t sarcastic... I have enough of these mainstream stereotypical world

  • maybe some people says that you are crazy but I absolutely agree with you.. instead of this stereotypical world you would die like a hero.. that sounds nice

  • @LeeClaxton. Look dude you're obviously a selfish cunt. But to be honest you wouldn't be on youtube right now being a fucking asshole and saying shit about those that have saved your ass. Learn to show some respect and stop being an immature cunt

  • @LeeClaxton First of all learn how to fucking spell and second of all, those "losers" are men and women who are risking their lives to protect the country they serve so show some respect and stop being a dick.'Nuff said.

  • I love this song from the soundtrack. First time I heard it it brought tears to my eyes.

  • Best war movie ever: Mrs. Miniver. 1941.

  • i am a fellow serving member and has been for 26 yrs 8months i salute those men who fought in both war to save my beloved country RIP Forever England Land Of Hope And Glory

  • my great grandpa dident fight but he was in the army. my friend conors grandpa fought in d day. his friend told me and conor he dident make it half way up the beach. =(

  • my greatgrandfather got shot by the germans for helping escape jews into germany and for stolen mp40,s and lugers

  • britsh gave us bars and the japanese anime >_> the canadians gave us free meds

  • hmm..what do you think

what is the best war movie?

    saving private ryan?we were soldiers?

    or harts war???

  • Once of best film war is tora tora tora. Do you Think?

  • I think the light horsemen:) but tora tora tora is a good film indeed:)

  • no,just try the movie "when trumpets fade"!!!

  • harts war isent rly a war movie in my opinion

  • wars over long time. Germans gave us beer, Russians vodka, Italians gave us Italian food, the Austrians gave us the terminator and the US gave fast food. everyone's happy :D

  • what about the british? they gave the world tea! aw, who the hell am i kidding -_-

  • lolololol thats soo true!

  • This song is so wonderful until it brought me tears i dun know why..

  • The most germans who fighted in that war are already dead, and the others be chamed of what they did. I´m a german, linving in Berlin, and you don´t know whats going on here, if anyone says something good about the nazis....he has to go to prison!

and the second thing is, the the russians had overrun the germans without the help of the united states ;)

but all german are very gratefull for the help of the united states to destroy teh nazi-regime....

  • thats cool, i never really thought of how life was after ww 2 like in modern day.

  • Please explain.

  • The Russians did actually need the USA

The USA gave tons of supplies to Russia, I'd be happy to give you a link that shows all the supplies we gave if you want.

  • i'm german to and i live in canada... the things commited in world war 2 were not done by the germans - they were done by the nazis.

  • the simplicity of this statement astounds me, and yet people fail to agree

  • I love the fact people only seem to care about the Germans being Nazi's, what about the Italians? The Turks, Syrians, the Portugese and the Spanish? They were all facist followers but all people care about it saying shit about German people, clearly these people know nothing. There is anti-semitism in the US in modern day, the very thing they fought against. But no, the Germans are bad, and nothing the US could ever do can be bad.

  • The Spanish, were under a dictatorship who won the civil war, fascist. But it was the result of a war (like yours of secession) for which little or nothing we could do to prevent fascism in Spain is called franquismo. For some Americans but that they came to fight fascism against the Soviets in the Cold War. today are American military bases in Spain, as a reminder of that.

  • Northpaintball is completely correct, we shouldnt be cursing the Germans for this, thats way to general, it was the Nazis. Yes they were german, but there were many many germans who were very good people and wanted the nazis and hitler overthrown just as much as we did

  • americans wrent suppose to help the russian thats the way stalin wanted it. he wanted hitler for himself :)

  • Then how do you explain the thousands of planes sent to Russia from the USA, tons of clothes and boots, as well as weapons?

  • no i no that i mean wen the americans were in belgium ready to go but the russians wanted to take hitler for themselves and torture him took em la long as time to get to berlin too

  • Comment removed

  • @fradeldi yeah, but then again, the treaties after World War 1 were really shtty. Hitler isnt a crazy man. If we were German after World War 1, we wouldn't be still thinking of the same thing we think right now. But I do agree that the Nazis are total asholes for what they did. Its just the british and the french who are asholes, including President Wilson for signing that stupid treaty violates human rights to the Germans.

  • @elven321 With all do respect, how is Hitler not a crazy man? He blamed all of Germany's problems on the jews. He made the jews the face of evil. And for what? He didn't want to fix the problem's with the country, but blame them on someone else. This type of thinking is similar to what you would find from a 3-year-old.

    Mitch

  • Dont use limewire or a converter.... download utorrent... then goto bt junkie and look up what ever you want.

  • Do you guys know were I can download this soundtrack for free at?

  • lime wire just find the composer name

  • i would use the youtube video to mp3 converter

  • this track is fantastic

  • Why doesnt people comment on this fantastic piece of music, insetad of fighting about wich coutry is the best and wich sucks and so on...

    Listen to the music

  • Breathtaking.

  • This oil problem caused (probally) forced the Japanese to attack us. We didn't listen to the guy that predicted pearl harbor -_-.

  • We wouldn't trade with Japan they needed oil we wouldn't supply it unless they got out of China. China had many die Japenese tortured, raped, cut off heads, put dynamite sticks in wierd places , and even ate the flesh of men and women even children.

  • Coward

  • uncle sam dont take no shit.USA USA USA

  • May God bless our heroes and other allied heroes! And no 1 gives a shit if we were last to enter WWII we fought in it and if u are gonna comment against Americans go do it on the videos from ur country! GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • Believe me,

We'll never forget what you've done for us, even though this wasn't your war. Thousands of sons, brothers and fathers have died in our lands, for a land that wasn't theirs

And that, my friend, is the definition of a hero

    greetings from Belgium ;)

  • their is something wrong with you.

  • why

  • are you racist against germens I mean you cant hate all Germans for the war.

  • Not all Germans were bad. Even not all Nazis were bad. Some Nazis tried to kill Hitler and oppose him. I'm part German and I'm proud to be German. The true bad guys like Hitler deserve to be in hell b/c of the crimes they pulled on humanity.

  • I think that comment goes to kackeausarschsauger7 but glad to hear that from you.

  • Deresteau,

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is heartwarming to know that some still remember the terrible human sacrifice and are grateful. Thank you again.

  • Deresteau, exactly what timjad said. If the soldiers lost knew there are people out there that still actually appreciate what they did they would be so happy. I just showed my grandad who lost 2 brothers and it made him so happy. Thanks.

  • Day D, amazing day where true heroes died to save the world from Hitler.

  • Hey man that is a little disrespectful to me i dont know where you are from, but if its GB then I am going to tell you that i appreciate everything they did in ww2 and in north africa and italy as well as france and germany during the war so dont be a hater. GOD BLESS GREAT BRITAIN AND THE USA!!!! :D

  • well,i agree with you, without the us and other allies,we wont have what we have today though i am chinese.god blees your country men and the soldiers who died in WWII

  • MY COMMENT IS NOOT TO DISTURB ANYBODY AT ALL! I RESPECT EVERYONE but:

Sometimes i get the picture of USA that they're kind of war-drug-addicts.. They were in WWII (against Germany and Japan!), they were in Vietnam, they are in Iraq and Afganistan ?? I dont kno' if they were in WWi, they properly were... the country hated all soldiers that came back home from Vietnam? The soldiers didn't even get help from the state??

    Sorry if i disturb anyone!!

  • Yes America fought in WWI. Superpowers, being superpowers, are generally are involved in a lot of warfare. But actually in WWI and WWII America was the last country to enter the war and many of the allies thought that America was being "selfish" or "lazy" by not participating immediately- so it seems as if we can't win. America is either a "war-addicted" country or a "selfish, lazy, and protectionist" country :[

  • i think there may be some truth to that, but i think it might be better discussed on another comment board for another video.

  • absolutely, but you know how it is to have something in mind, and forgets everything about it a few days later :) ? hehe

  • yes we were in ww1 came in 1917 war ened 1918.

  • Well, actually, we wanted to remain neutral after WWI but Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and basically made us declare war. So I think we're more of "selfish" rather than "war addicts"

  • maybe youre right, i dont know much acctually ... but whay were Pearl Harbor doing in the asian?

  • I don't quite understand your question, but I'll try and answer. Pearl Harbor was on the coast of Hawaii and the Japanese came over with Aircraft and bombed all of the ships.

  • you anwsered me hehe :) ok , stupid yellow kamikaze japans ....

  • NEVER forget.

  • great music to a great story. im not american but i admire and appreciate what these men did to rid the world of the horrible tyranny of the nazis. god bless WW2 veterans and all their families.

  • Sometimes I wonder if one can truly express honest thanks to these men who gave so much of themselves without thought of reward or gain. What valor! What honor! What faith!

i don't think any words of mine can ever express the thanks of the selfless and self-sacrificing love these men had for their country and for each other, but I think this Hymn (appropriately called a Hymn) comes close to express what our human language wishes to say, but falls short.

  • USA FTW

    love this song

  • fuck hitler and mussonlin and tojo USA WINS

  • my school bands playing this and it sounds really good so far

  • OMG we're playing boring stuff in band I wish we played this song in band(but we did do James bond once that was fun...)

  • this song, and the theme song in The Thin Red Lines are so good!

  • i agree. i have the thin red line soundtrack as well though it might get taken down if i upload it cause i had clips from TTRL on youtube before and i had to take em down due to a copyright claim.

ill try posting the TTRL soundtrack later and see how long i can keep it.

  • Right when it gets to 3:57, it's just amazingly beautiful, and makes me proud to be an American.

  • Right on brother.

  • i played this song on our schools vetran's day thing
