@iean888999 Actually back in those times 'China' wasn't considered a country but more of a continent full of different tribes (Canton, Tibetan, Manchu, Fujian ect) it wasn’t until the European invasion that China was broken down and labelled as a country, take into account weakened empires losing control of their Northern and Southeast areas like Vietnam for one example that claimed independence. @iean888999 Actually back in those times 'China' wasn't considered a country but more of a continent full of different tribes (Canton, Tibetan, Manchu, Fujian ect) it wasn’t until the European invasion that China was broken down and labelled as a country, take into account weakened empires losing control of their Northern and Southeast areas like Vietnam for one example that claimed independence. Japan, Korea and most of Southeast Asia were once paying royalties to chinese dynasties

Because even the textbook we studied in high-schools or universities always portrays their own country as being always right, or excludes parts where they went wrong, or just claim some territory as being theirs. if my history is right, the first time tibet was part of china was in yuan dynasty which was a mongolian ruled dyanasty, then after they had fallen, the ming did not have a heavy hand over it, but the qing that was around from early 1600s til 1912 or so did infact also have tibet a part of china. Through all seriousness, saying free tibet makes no sense to me when north americans came in and totally wiped out north american indian tribes and basically stole and murdereded the people away =P.

I think that is terrible. I would not encourage any woman to go to China or Tibet for a better life. My wife has more respect as a full person than many Asian woman I have seen. The issue here is that women should have equal status and protection and Tibet is very dangerous for them. It is tragic. I believe you.

Education for women in China is getting better, but it will not solve thousands of years of institutional oppression and second-class citizenry. Also, the truth is that soldiers rape. Philadelphia is a really nice city now. It has free Wi-Fi in the whole downtown area. It is completely restored and is very tourist and business friendly, with a big art scene. It used to be really bad but has been really turned around. If you go to South Philly you will get shot and killed. It is only miles from the nice part. That is how America is. New York and Los Angeles are no different.

It all just depends on where you are and when. To some extent it is never going to change because with freedom comes a lot of stupidity. That said, I would not give up my freedom for security. In China, so much goes on in secret. Everyone knows this, it is just better not to talk about it. The number of executions all over the world combined don't equal the number executed in China. Say nothing. So what is the real cost of no freedom?

On the contrary, I see that the women in western worlds are more prone to sexual harassment and abuse, not only because they are more open (in a bad way), but also because their media propagates it too much. Conversely, most Chinese women are very conservative and are more careful in terms of protecting their virginity.

Don't assume things you don't know. Many Chinese scholars who study abroad have went back to China and brought about great contributions. As long as there is an area that needs talent, you will be accepted (if you are qualified enough). And this has nothing to do with gender.
