Because cutting it straight across would make your bangs blunt. If you cut with the tips, it gives you more of a choppy layery effect! :)

Cutting it straight across will make it blunt. When you hold your scissors vertically, it'll make your bangs more choppy & layery :D

@dumtowel Do you have a curling iron or straightner? If you do you can straighten them. Or if you dont, then you can blow dry them straight with a brush and the dryer. hope this helped a little

If you have curly frizzy hair, I wouldn't recommend getting short full or side bangs ^^; You should wait for your bangs to grow longer; then, they should be more manageable! :)

I think usually, side swept bangs are shorter (that's why they "sweep" to the side. Side bangs could go past your cheeks (:

If it's your first time, cut your bangs when it's dry. Just be careful and slow; always brush your bangs out to see what it looks like so you can keep track of the length. Lastly, don't worry even if you mess up. Hair grows back.

Just learn from your mistakes for next time. It took me a while to be comfortable with cutting my bangs, but once I learned, I saved myself a lot of money! :D
