  • Just a small question.....was your hair always straight? Or did it used to be wavyish and the weight of all your hair just turned it straight? Right now my hair is reaching past my shoulders and is the sexiest wavy hair on the planet...i dont want it to turn straight! :)

  • @Chupanebre637 Mine was just a tad wavyish but with really long length all appeared straight for ther most part.

  • @Musique3579 Well I can only hope mine doesn't go too straight....

Your an inspiration, good luck in your hair-growing endeavours :)

  • how can anyone not like this video. this guy is the happiest dude on the planet

  • dude, your so fucking cool.

  • @whokillkennyman I do? Well, thank you! :-)

  • you sound stoned

  • @miricum69 What an absolutely profound comment.

  • You're the guru of hair

  • every time i watch the videos with you and your longer hair, i imagine myself with that length of hair, i still have NO idea what my hair will look at that length

  • @GrantsHairTips It will look GREAT!!!! :-)

  • r u high?

  • @BeezieMadden13 i don't no. r u low?

  • @Musique3579 maybe i am

  • @Musique3579 man, now i feel bad i only ment for it to be a joke. im srry :/

  • @L3G1T0Sh1T I don't mind. I thought it was rather funny. No reason to be sorry. Hope you are having a nice week. Take care-

    Justin~ :-)

  • LOL,cool hairs but i think you should cut them a little bit :D

  • @dragon261100 Just see my newer videos. "Longish" now.

  • You have better hair than me and certainly longer hair. x) I'm a bit jealous. Great video though! You seem like the coolest person ever. (:

  • @lindylooove No need to be jealous anymore. Videos made way after this tell of what caused me to lose my long hair of 20 something years. Wasn't my fault. Best of luck to you and great success with your long hair! :-)

    Justin~

  • Argh. I'm at the awkward stage right now.

  • justin. ive tried to grow out my hair several times. the awkward stage keeps getting to me! im going for it again now.. and i really hope that this will happen this time!

  • @boyo1991 btw i have every time watched your vids, and will keep watching! great vids!

  • @boyo1991 Me too. And, it WILL happen. Just let your hair grow and don't give a thought to the Awkward Stage. Who cares? You are on a journey and there is no way to take this journey without passing through this phase.

  • Has anyone told you look like Bobby off the show Supernatural. Nice hair by the way.

  • @IceIceBreak69 Never been told this. A few times I get the Jesus comment, but I always tell whoever it is, impossible. (I can't walk on water UNLESS it is frozen.) LOL

  • Great video, great attitude, it's great to see a happy person on youtube.

Btw, I can totally relate to the "akward stage" dilema.

  • you look metal

  • @T0ddy97 I'm everything! :-) LOL

  • thank you for the videos. i would like to grow my hair. i tried before and as you had said, it was the awkward stage. I eventually cut it and now am growing my hair again. i watched the video and could not help but think of all the negative comments people i know would make. i really enjoyed your positivity. in fact, it was inspirational.

  • @solidbeliefs You are very welcome. As for the negative comments, don't let these upset you. Only you can allow or not allow these stupid comments to upset you. And no apologies or explainations to those who might mock you are needed. Ignor them all for people like that aer NOT really your friends. You have NOTHING to be ashamed of. Funny thing, once the hair is long NOBODY says anything bad. Then the compliments come in! :-) Did you see #7 in this series?

  • haha i just wanna cut like 20inches of ur hair while ur sleeping and see how pissed u r when u wake up

  • @L3G1T0Sh1T Awe, you are being just too thoughtful to be for true. LOL :-) Since I made this video 3 years ago, emergency surgery to save my life plus a salon disastor demolished my long hair and now it is "longish." Darn...............you missed your chance. So sorry. Thanks for the comment anyway and wishing you a great New Year!

    Justin~

  • @L3G1T0Sh1T Listen, negative comments, will come back to haunt you - you are inviting negativity into YOUR life by directing it at someone like Justin. Learn to be positive - our very life, Creator driven force is positive - Justin - hope you are well after your surgery and hair disaster. Surgery can definitely have an effect on hair loss. But you know what? Even if you lost your hair - your positive nature and personality will draw good things to u. Happy New Year:)

  • okay so my hair was like as long as yurs and maybe a tad bit longer and i cut it up to my ears i donated it to kids with cancer but i miss my long hair. Its been 2 years and it still hasnt grown to the length it was before but im being patient.

  • i really really want to meet you and you're so chilled! you'd be a great dad or best mate, your friends and family are lucky man! and urgent message for male's! use straighteners, curlers, bobbles, pins etc... they are for hair not for a gender and if people take the mick just remember you look better than them :D

  • i really really want to meet you and you're so chilled! you'd be a great dad or best mate, your friends and family are lucky man!

  • You're a rad dude!

  • i am a little jealous :P

  • last year I started growing my hair from a buzz cut that was in Sept 2010 then it got to the awkward stage Aug 2011 so I buzzed it all off. Now I'm sad I did that and I haven't cut it since. its about 3-4 inches now and I'll just suffer through the awkward this time lol

  • @Pug40 No, not to suffer. Enjoy growing out the hair and whatever it looks like on the way so what and who cares. This makes it the easiest to grow with this attitude. In 2 years you will have gorgeous long hair. Guaranteed 100%! Best of luck to you.

    Justin~

  • i love you =)

  • @rick92rr That was really special to say and the feeling is mutual. :-) I am very proud of your accomplishments.

  • @rick92rr that was...... RANDOM. ahhaha

  • I have grown my hair out to the awkward stage a few times in my life but kept cutting it because it looked so bad, but this time i am sticking it out and it is almost out of the awkward stage! i wear a beanie every day to hide it lol

  • @thedisbatcher Lots of guys wear those beanies, but just about everyone knows (cause they can see the back hair or what is sticking out) that your hair is longish. No reason to hide it however. There is no shame in going through the awkward stage. You are a "work in progress" with an goal in mind for wonderful long hair. Best of luck to you! :-)

    Justin~

  • I enjoyed your video Justin. I'm in that "awkward" stage just trying to get through it. I know it'll be worth it. Thanks for your videos.

  • @bmccomic314 Yes, it WILL be worth it. Best thing to do is just forget about what it looks like now and don't worry about what others may think. It is all "a work in progress." Best of luck to you.

    Justin~

  • u talk alot but its all nonsence-u say nothing

  • @danieldaring Hey, here is the perfect solution. You make the video and add it as a video response. Then for once we will surely have some knowledge around here. Thank you ever so much for writing and hope you are having a great evening. All the best-

    Justin~

  • @pheonix11525 This is going to sound stupid, but how does the egg treatment work when washing your hair?

  • @pheonix11525 Thanks for that tip. I DO hope @KissMelmPunk reads what you have written.

    Justin~

  • you are a magnificent douche

    lolz

  • What about split ends? I think my hair naturally has them, and sometimes it annoys me when I ahve my hair down. I'm unfortunately going through the awkward phase and my hair takes a bit more time to grow.

  • @KissMeImPunk Are you "sure" you have Split Ends? Many think they do, but they really don't. In fact, some never even get them. My other videos talk about these and tell what to do.

  • @Musique3579 The problem is my hair is not only thick but as well as wavy and curly (curly especially towards the back as well as "spike up". I also suffer from the frizzy phase at the top of my head.

  • @KissMeImPunk Guess I would have professional look at it..............or, make a video showing your hair. If I saw it then I could tell much better.

  • @Musique3579 Actually I have a picture on the forums entitled "My Journey" or something to that effect. It's not a high quality picture so if you'd like just ask for another pic I guess.

  • @JSA19882007

i felt that temptation at first, i HATED HATED HATED my hair when i was first growing my hair out about a year ago, i hated it from about september 2010 to april 2011, might be because my hair is real thick and shaggy tho, if you have my type of hair, itll be yet a few more months to a year before you get to like it, remember the end result tho, long, girl attracted, wicked awesome hair!

  • Great video! Thank you for this!

  • @msoltanftw Thanks and glad you liked. (Plenty more videos have been made.) Perhaps too may. LOL

  • Hi, I'm trying to grow my hair now, it has been one month so far, I'm very patient and so I can wait, but the problem is the temptation to give in and get a trim, especially for me as my hair grows pretty fast and so I get to the awkward stage quickly.

  • @JSA19882007 When it comes time to really mean business about growing ones hair long, temptation goes out the window to trim, cut, even-up etc. All the person at that time can think of is one word: "Grow!" Best of luck to you. :-)

    Justin~

  • My hair is about 4 inches below my shoulders. I have a problem about frizzy hair. I use L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner everyday, since my hair easily gets 'oily' . (I don't mean to sound feminine or anything like that) I even use a Nexxus Style Spray, which makes it easier to comb my hair without pulling the hair strands. Even my comb is 'Frizz Free', supposedly. But I still have these hair strands that stick out, even when my hair is fully combed. My hair is naturally very thine by the way.

  • @HolyVegeta Those hairs are Baby Hairs beginning their growth cycle. Everybody has them easily seen "if" their hair is long enough. To solve, rinse both hands. Put a bead or 2 of Gel in the palm of one and ryb both hands together. Smooth all over hair. Presto! 90% better. They stay in place and the gel goes unseen. For thin hair you might want to try a volume shampoo and see how well it works.

  • i bet u smoke weed

  • @MsAfricanIndian Um, well, you just might win that bet. LOL :-)

  • @MsAfricanIndian Um, well, you just might win that bet. LOL :-)

  • hey justin--on my first hair video next month, i'll be showing previous pictures throughtout the past year so u can see the FULL progression from the start of my process

  • hey justin--on my first hair video next month, i'll be showing previous pictures throughtout the past year so u can see the FULL progression from the start of my process

  • My last hair cut was in July 2010.My hair was 2 inches long. The akward state lasted from November 2010 to April 2011.I used to wear a beanie. My hair is now shoulder long.I love it.I will grow it half year and then i will have achieved my goal.Nipple long hair!

  • @urigeller575757 Great news. I am VERY happy for you. Bravo! Justin~

  • I last cut my hair in November of 2009 (very short regular boy cut) and has been growing it since without cutting. So it's almost 2 years and it's only past my shoulders. Many people asked me the last time I cut and I'd tell them how long I've been growing it, they say it's quite a slow growth rate. 2 years of growth without cutting and a little past my shoulders, is it normal? I'm Asian with straight hair. Thanks.

  • @megadroogie90 Sounds to me that you have a slower growth rate, but you are hardly alone. How far past your shoulders? How long is it when you measure the length?

  • @Musique3579 Between 3 to 4 inches. Could daily hair washing be the reason? How long did it take you to grow it to shoulder length? The awkward phase was excruciating and it lasted more than half a year. Is there any formula to make hair grow faster? The awkward stage is my biggest enemy if I were to grow it all over again,

  • @megadroogie90 I can't remember how long it took, but probably 1-1/2 years. (Guessing.) Only wash and condition as needed. Everyone is different when it comes to this. No formula that I know of.

  • @Musique3579 Thanks man. Long hair for life!

  • Ok so my hair grows outward instead of down on the sides.. Did you had that problem when you were growing long hair?

  • @vietpi Yup. That is the way it works for everyone.

  • @Musique3579 Oh man i should have let my hair grow outwards during the summer.. But instead got it buzzed before the day of school.. Now i have to live with my Outwards hair until it fall downs...

  • this is really inspiring. great video. would love to summon the will power one day to try...

  • @oli333 Thank you. As for will power, it really doesn't takes any. A guy just decides "this is what I am going to do." And then they do it.

  • Damn Nice video!!!i have a long hair..not so long as yours but very long too!really love it man!!

    nice vid!!

  • @ExplosionMetal6 Thanks. That was really nice of you to write that.

  • @Musique3579 just a short , dumb question, but when trying to grow your hair nice and long , isent it good to cut dead ends? i always feal like if i cut dead ends my hair will just get cut grow get cut grow etc etc but like im puertorican with curly thick hair not tight curls but wavey but really curly hair :o i wanna get my hair longg lol

  • @xxIVIooIVIoofarmzxx Not a dumb question at all. All of the hair you see is dead material. Growth is only from beneath the scalp. So, you do not need to cut the ends unless when longer they get so thin they cause lots of tangles, or you find split ends. You can do this all yourself for free and it isn't hard at all. Only about 1/4" in this case should be enough to take off. I went over 10 years without any cuts or trims.

  • @Musique3579 yase the only thing is i have really curly hair that has like loobes and allready all spins threw other curls so its really hard to tell lol my hair idk how long it is but the front when wet is about bottum lip , and back is about shoulder

  • ur my new idol ty ty

  • @Grimmjow0666 Wow. Don't think I have ever been anyones idol. Thank you.

  • FLOWER POWER!!!!!!!

  • 420 likes :D

  • The happiness comes from my marijuana :)

I love your videos Justin. These long hair series has helped me out on my journey to long hair. I am about nine inches right now, thanks to the advice you have given me. I wish you luck in your travels, Justin.

  • @ImKingc0n Thanks! Looks like you WILL make it to fabulous long hair at the rate you are going. Bravo! :-)

  • Hi just a questin how long would it normally take for hair to reach "awkward stage"? because ive been growing it since february 13 that was my last haircut but its still not curling up in the back yet would it take longer than 6 months cuz that where im at now it'd be really helpful with your response thanx in advance :D

  • @WHATSARICKROLL Sounds like you are standing on the doorstep right now when the Awkward Stage will start to begin but just a little bit. Give it 9-10 months total. You WILL be in it by then.

  • @Musique3579 one more question how would you deal with the sideburns idk why but mine grow abnormally fast lol plus they get really bushy and it looks bad because i dont have a beard connecting or anything like that and anyother tips would be great man you is awesome!!

  • @WHATSARICKROLL Real easy. Just keep them trimed to the length you would like. There are no rules written in stone about this. However you like them.

  • Hey, uhm, I'm at the hair growing period where my back hair flips up when it meets the colar... I was wondering, could I correct this with a flat iron? What would the damage be?

  • @cofkilla Yes, the Flat Iron would ruin it. Everyones hair flips up at the length your is at right now. Just keep letting it flip and suddenly it WILL be long enough to drop. 100% guarantee.

    Justin~

  • @Ghettoness1000 I made this video close to 3 years ago and since this I have made over 25 more videos about long hair. You can find them all in my channel. In fact, before long I will make another hair video having to do with guys with long hair and their gf's. I no longer have long hair. It was lost because of a dumb Salons stupidity, Diabetes, and later emergency surgery with my heart in the hospital. That did my long hair in and too much fell out. Now it is "longish."

  • @Ghettoness1000 if you say so.

  • You're awesome! Totally made my day=)

  • @2012maritza Hey, thanks! Glad I could make somebodys day. LOL :-) All the best-

    Justin~

  • Yes ! I had my hair just about down to my shoulders and now a days everyones shaving there head and putting up stupid fauxhawks and I got pressured into cutting it. But now since me and my friend are growing ours out about nipple length , I could care less what people say.

  • @Swedies Most interesting is that once the hair is long enough, NOBODY will mess with you. (If so, extremely rare.) In fact, if anything, compliments will be heard and suddenly woman become very interested. (There are MANY that LOVE Men with long hair..............just see their comments on my 2 short videos about this from the women that have written.) Nice clean looking long hair is a sign that you take pride in your looks.

  • You're my hero. I really want to grow my hair, but my school, and my parents are restricting me from doing that.

  • @HitmonEric Why? WE are suppose to have long hair. Mother Natures says so, and she is far more intelligent than all of us.

  • I love how this should be about hair - and you start talking about happiness :D You are so positive, you inspire me :)

  • @SecretMisery Thank you. That was very nice of you to say.

  • wow you like a 5th Beatle(awsome)

  • yo, if i think it looks good and everyone hates it, fuck them, i like it so i keep what im comfortable with, if everyone likes it and i hate it fucke em i put it how i like it

  • @samrebardi Good. Glad you can be yourself and express the way YOU desire your hair to be.

  • I've grown my hair out 3 times and cut it very short..each time coming back to these videos. I love you man!

  • @PhobiaInvictus Thanks! How about growing it out really long next time? At least you will always be able to say: "I once had long hair." Take care and all the best-

    Justin~

  • My hair is wavy/curly, doesnt straitening damage hair? And im going for more a sceneish look, but i love your hair vidds :3

  • @ZynkVids Yes, to straighten hair will fry it no matter what heat products are used.

  • al longhaired dudes, stop combing and get dreads!!!

  • I heard that its good for the hair so that is why i'm asking

  • Should i cut to top of the hair?

  • @ioanjivan I don't know. I don't know what state, length or condition your hair is in or why you would want to cut.

  • these is one of my issues wind messes up my hair soy i use bandana with hat =/

  • @MegaSherer Sure, that will work! :-)

  • @Musique3579 yes it really work man wonderful

  • Freaking love it dude!

  • @dawgsftw Thanks! And to think something like 25 more! LOL :-)

  • hey justin just wanna say thanks for the helpful and supportive video. it really helped me get over the whole akward stage. my hair is now about two inches and i havent had the urge to cut it off. thanks man and your hair looks awesome by the way i cant wait until mine gets at least half that length....sincerely steven

  • @TheStevo89 Thank you Steven for writing this and it is much appreciated. At 2 inches you are still a ways to go before even entering the Awkward Stage. This will start about the 6th month or so and be at its all-time height at 1-1/2 years worth of non-stop growth. Just enjoy all the interesting looks that come with it and don'rt worry. The rewards at the end far out-number Awkward Hair days. All the best-

    Justin~

  • @Musique3579 i have very wavy hair,.,i want to grow long hair,.,.,,but after more than 6 inches long then curl up badly at the ends,.,.,wat to do about this,.,.,any advice would be appreciated

  • @MrMasoodrodman1 Just let it stay the way it is. This is what hair does in the growing out stage. Eventually the weight and gravity will get ahold of that hair and it will fall.

  • @Musique3579 and are u they guy in the vid

  • i really like your vidoes and i wanted to grow my hair out but i was in the akward stage as i was going into 8th grade and i got lots of rule and mean comments so i cut in and know im on summer break and im trying to grow it out again and hopefully i get past it before i go into high school but even if i dont your videos really helped me and i just wanted to say thanks

  • @bheart499 Thank you for such kindness in thanking me. Best of luck with the hair. It really is easy. Don't worry what it looks like when it is growing out. (It is a work in progress.) But in 2-3 years you will have the GREATEST long hair you could ever believe! All the best-

    Justin~

ps: Awkward Stage lasts really about 1-1/2-2 years before ALL settles in.

  • Hey Man, I think i'm in the awkward stage right now, but I never realised it, I tried growing it once before but had it cut at that stage as I thought it was just my hair not being suited to being long but now you describe it as being puffed out and sticking up at the ends it's given me the courage to let it grow through

  • @HordeFTL Yes, just let it grow without cuts or trims for 2-3 years now and ALL will fall into place the best of all and it seems to happen like automatically. Best wishes to you in achieving great long hair.

    Justin~

  • I like you

  • Hi dear Uncle Justin ! I hope you're doin' great. I know you are very busy and don't necessarely have time to respond to my comment right away, so feel free to write me later on this month :)

I just wanted to say that my cousin always wanted to grow out his hair, but never knew how to start and always has been afraid of what people are gonna think and say. So I showed to him your videos and he FINALLY decided to let his hair grow !

He thanks you a lot for your tips and advices :)

    Much love

    Nick

  • @nickierainbow Hi Nicki! Hope all has been well with you. Glad to hear that your cousin is going to give long hair a try. He WILL succeed, but only if he really wants to. The videos should be of great help however and what the heck, good for a laugh at the same time! :-) Take care

    Justin~

    xoxo

  • I am an 11 year old boy and am growing my hair pretty long. I have hair just longer than collar length. I hope it grows well & I hope yours does too ^_^

  • @jd16596 I am sure it will grow well. Enjoy the long hair! :-)

  • @Musique3579 yes and i hope yours grows out again

  • My hair is identical to yours, maybe even a bit longer. cool.

  • @TheCarepanda LUCKY! My hair is no longer this longer. (Wasn't my fault however.) :-(

  • @Musique3579

    How come?

I think you should also show how to brush your hair.

A lot of people (even girls) just ravage their hair and go from all the way up and pull it down and lose a lot of hair. I trim my hair every three months and it worked out pretty well, It didn't take too long and my hair is perfectly healthy. I enjoyed the video's, you have nice humor

  • @TheCarepanda Thanks. All of this is within the many many videos I have made that can be found in my channel page.

  • @Musique3579

Oh did not know you had that many vids, cool :')

  • @TheCarepanda Well, not sure just how cool they all are, but just me being me and what you see is just how it happens. No second takes. LOL

    Enjoy! :-)

  • Long hair is sexy as hell for men AND women... And you, mister metal head, are totally adorable !

Imma 16 years old girl and I started to grow out my hair 3 months ago.

I think my hair grows about an inch a month, wich is really fast ! I feel lucky :)

  • @nickierainbow Awe, you are just too sweet. Thank you for such a sweet message. Oh wow, an inch a month growth for you. GREAT! I have known of this, but very few people are so blessed. Best to you with your own long hair success. (Uncle Justin.)

  • @Musique3579 Haha ! I wrote this comment before I saw that you had to cut your hair and shave your beard... I was so sad even if I dont know you :(

  • @nickierainbow No need to feel sad. I knew very long hair for 20+ years.

  • justin--u said i shouldnt go get a trim? Does getting the split ends cut off count? the only thing ive done with my hair the past few months was: got an inch or so cut off from my bangs while getting the split ends cut off at the same visit. I also didi go in for layering the last time, i prob shouldnt of done it---ur friend grant

  • @ItsGrantCasual No, doing the Split-ends doesn't count. Normally these are not even to be of concern at the stage you are at. Wait a couple of years and you can take care of any splits yourself individually. Also please remember. Not everyone gets Split-Ends. (I am one of those.) Others get a ton of them. Must be all genetic.

  • justin-- also; when do u think i could start using a brush? is my hair too short for it or is it a long way from needing it?

  • @ItsGrantCasual Actually, it doesn't at all look as if it needs a brush, but that would be up to you. "If" you get one, ONLY get a Boars Bristle Brush and never use it when the hair is wet.

ps: Gotta run again and I have every intent of emailing you so hang in there Grant.

    Justin~

  • justin-- so if i plan to grow my hair for the next 2 years, then itll all catch up in about 3 years and look better?

  • @ItsGrantCasual Sure will and it will look the best of all growing it this way. The back assumes a wonderful natural v-shape, and when longer as was mine at its longest the most wonderful curve. No Salon could ever do as well as Mother Nature.

  • My friend named DeMetrio (Metro) uses bobby pins, has a bunch of hair bands, he changes his appereance pretty much daily--he has hair down to ehh--bout 7 or 8 inches on his back and he just graduated highschool

  • @thapsykotic1 Neat! 1 year is a long time and glad you stuck it out. Hardest part (my opinion) is the next 6-8 months as the hair goes the wildest...........but just make it all fun and enjoy! :-) In the end, the effort IS well worth it.

  • hey man--about 2 months ago i started taking a picture of myself everyday. I will be doing this until april 2015, my hair will be of full length 2 inches below my chest, exactly a foot away (2 years) ull get to see me on halloween being steven tyler this year

  • @ItsGrantCasual Great idea. Wish I had thought of that. You just will not believe the change in appearence. You might be surprised that once you reach your goal, you may end-up going longer. This seems to be the normal with a whole lot of guys who want the astonishing classic-looking mid-back look.

  • Wow, your AMAZING!!!! Defiantly subbing

  • @cejason Thanks. That is very nice of you and much appreciated.

  • @Musique3579 no problem, you made me feel accepted for having long, hair, my return of thanks is a subbing and watching your vids :D

  • you're so rad. i wish you were my father

  • @CANNIBALEX Thank you. :-)

  • LOL 'Point A to Point.. finish'

  • I'm sorry, but this is the funniest thing I've seen in my life.
