X9 needs to be in modernized graphics because frankly the older generation is fleeting and today's generation hardly even knows what Megaman IS anymore, so they need it to be in graphics they can understand and play. Going to the nostalgia factor over and over again is just a bad move on Capcom's part.

Besides, Inafune quit, so it's not like we'll ever be seeing another megaman game again.
