  • what the hell is monostatos :D

  • this is amazing!! thanks for this my firend : D

  • I would agree that the original version is best, since I really enjoy my mother tongue. I would also generally agree that you ought to know the original version, if nothing else to be aware that there are languages besides English and Spanish. I will also say, however, that as an abridged version I do care for the translations (changes) more than other renditions. I admit that what attracted me to this version was the artwork, but I also only saw this on a television programme years ago.

  • I love this :D but WTF is Monostatus?? :P

  • This is somehow not for kids.

  • DOPE

  • It seems a bit too rushed.

I understand the brief but if you can't actually make it work without making it nonsensical then leave well alone and do something else.

The adaption of Rhinegold I thought worked really well despite the excision of 4/5 of the music, This doesn't .

Shame, because I like the idea and it looks and sounds nice.

  • Wow, really interesting! Love the art style.

  • why does it have to be in english?! is it really hard for you to read subtitles?!?!

  • @davidovich00

    Original animation-BBC!

And the original Schikaneder you need to know without subtitles .

  • existe esto con subtitulos en español???

  • a mi tambien me gustaria tnerla subtitulada..o en buena calidad

  • They shouldn't translate the singing, they should just add subtitles cause its usually not as good but whatever mozarts music is still the best

  • @Gargantupimp

Actually even if an opera has been translated into English, 90% of the time I STILL can't understand it very well (I only pick up words here and there). So really, unless you're watching a live performance I don't see why people always feel the need to dub things like these! Ah well.

  • I watched this all the time when I was little!!! It really is an amazing way to introduce children to this great work of art!

  • ...Felicitaciones !!!!, es una muy buena ABREVIACION de esta Famoza Opera,

para que la Gente JOVEN se MOTIVE...

    por la!!!!! MUSICA CLASICA...!!!!!

    saludos del Peru...

  • I definitely like this a lot... But why do they have to cut the music so short. But the story goes, the king is very sick and it's up to Papageno and Tamino to save him before it's to late that's how Mozart wrote this story.

    But i understand German...

  • @atrainroberts Mozart didn't write the libretto just fyi

  • @atrainroberts

Really? I read in this biography of Mozart that the Queen of Night was Married to King of the Circle of the Sun. He somehow fell ill I suppose, and entrusted Sarastro with the Circle of the Sun...

The Queen of the Night, in attempts to take it back and restore the former unity, sends Pamina to kill Sarastro.

  • Does anyone know of a German version of the Magic Flute?

  • This was excellent. Anyone know where I can see a claymation based on the Marriage of Figaro. I saw it on the ARTS network where I saw this.

  • this is awesome, where can i see more?

  • Keep following the links. :D For example, Part 2 is the top one on the Related Videos list.

  • Today is the day the Magic flute debuted in Vienna 298 years ago today.

  • Congratulations to all of us!

  • @dacatholicbandorgan that makes it 300th year this year!! :D

  • Thank you so much for posting this clip I had no idea this existed, it is perfect for introducing my son to the magic flute. The art is spectacular in this, and finally an English version for kids. So generous of you to share this.
