@AscendingParadigm No, he'd probably give him his own kingdom, give him pleasures such as drugs, music, endless sex and the ability to torment others. Not to mention, legion of armies, though not invincible. And give him a host of names such as Lucifer. :)
@AscendingParadigm "Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT owing NO allegiance and acknowledging NO responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul this unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today." PRESIDENT THEODORE ROOSEVELT, 1906
1:15:25, he talks about obscenity as it relates to "fear, guilt and shame about the human body...". the Quebecois use symbols of the catholic church as swear words, "host" "chalice" and "tabernacle" are considered quite vulgar.
@thraxman, LOL, not even. "quel hostie" roughly means, "what a prick" and "tabernac", "fucking hell", while "une calice de pute", literally translates as "a chalice of a whore".
however, i'm sure you could find a porn film which incorporates lots of verbal vulgarity with the sex, such as, "suces moi mon hostie du bat, ma petite calice de pute...ah, oueeeh...comme ca...oueeeh...tabernac, t'es bonne...".
that's really quite vulgar so i'll be removing it shortly...lol...cheers...
This is a really insightful and thought provoking interview. I suspect much of what Carlin believes and theorizes in this interview HAS already come to pass, with more to come, very prophetic. Not to mention Art Bell leads a great interview and doesn't miss a beat with the sharp Carlin.
Boiling sewage LOL!!! We love you George I"m gunna make my kids listen to your philosophy so they don't become sheep. R.I.P. this man should of lived to be a hundred and twenty
The only thing that I don't like is the interviewer. He introduced George as if he was his biggest fan, yet he had no idea about who George was and what his values were.
For fuck's sake, he asked George if he believed in God, and then later seemed alarmed at the fact that George roots for disasters.
George was at his best though, and I loved George and he basically said everything that I've ever thought, right down to the details of why I love earthquakes.
@MrGermanVermin A sick bastard? No, he just said all the thoughts you think but are too PUSSY to say out loud.
I think the exact same thoughts as George. I'm a friendly guy and I'm quiet and sweet and everything, but when I'm alone, I love thinking about shit that just isn't thought about enough. I think it's cool that right now, some guy is about to commit suicide. It's called a passion for psychology and humanism.
I'm having a fucking blast. I'd suggest you lighten up and take a joke.
@MrGermanVermin You just don't like his liberal views because you've labeled yourself republican. Don't label yourself either republican or democrat and just be an American.
@2eelShmeal No, I don't like Carlin because he was a bitter old man that had comedy bits about making fun of people's names....the man was a douche bag from his conception. I'm libertarian by the way.
@MrGermanVermin Life made him cynical. Life does that. You'll see. didn't you hear him say "Scratch a cynic and under the surface you find a disappointed idealist" ? We all start out full of optimism, idealism and hope.... until life shows us it doesn't work that way.. Only in fairy tales and Hollywood. George knew that and wasn't afraid to admit it. One day you'll find out he's right. People are pretty shitty by nature.
@thraxman A cover is always necessary. In concealment lies a great part of our strength. Hence we must always hide ourselves under the name of another society. --Die neusten ararbeiten des Spartacus and Philo in dem Illuminaten-Orden, 1794, p: 165
This is taken from page 491 of Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco. 'Coincidentally' Umberto Eco has written the introduction to the newly printed version of Alexandre's The Count of Monte Christo.
@thraxman "The fact that millions of people share the same vices does not make these vices virtues, the fact that they share so many errors does not make the errors to be truths, and the fact that millions of people share the same form of mental pathology does not make these people sane." -Erich Fromm
@thraxman "The fact that millions of people share the same vices does not make these vices virtues, the fact that they share so many errors does not make the errors to be truths, and the fact that millions of people share the same form of mental pathology does not make these people sane." -Erich Fromm
I live in England. I can relate to George because Ireland is our closest neighbour and George is of Irish decent. I share the same views as George. When I talk to my friends like George would do, they think I am crazy. The reason for that is, the English think they are important and anyone who does not agree with them is deemed as stupid. R.I.P. George. You are loved and missed.
"Immortality" is a romanticized ignorant concept massively influenced by Hollywood. Nobody can be "immortal". You can have a different lifespan from other forms of life (Cat average ten years / Human average 70 ~ 80 years) but nothing can stop aging and nothing "cannot die". People can't "live forever" because people cannot grasp the concept of "forever".
Its funny that a realist like carlin even wasted his time on this dipshit. Hes the same asshole that put out that phony voices from hell recording lol. I'm a little surprised.
Art Bell displays a shocking lack of understanding of basic science. We co-evolved with our primate relatives, we did not evolve "from" them. We evolved from common ancestors. And a flare from the sun would NOT deposit a thin layer of iridium at the K-T boundary. The iridium has to come FROM somewhere, elements do not change into other elements by the application of heat, unless it's hot enough to induce fusion...and iridium is only formed from supernovae explosions.
Man, George Carlin was one of the few people I could ever TRULY HONESTLY relate to. Listening to him is like listening to an elderly version of myself. I wish we could've been friends!
@wackerthecracker Really, because I thought people were getting fatter because of poor choice of diet and lack of self-discipline. So all along it was fast food joints making my decisions for me? Thanks for clearing that up.
He really surprised me with his thoughts on the use of the term "Conspiracy Theory". Even though I believed I knew where this man stood on subjects like that, he was surprisingly agreeable to the conspiracy idea.
Amazing interview...I've never been as big a Carlin fan as I am now. Very intelligent and articulate and so many of his views ring true. Glad I found this, I'm sure I'll listen to it again.
"if human beings evolved from apes then how come apes are still on the earth?" obviously art bell has a poor understanding of evolution via natural selection, apes and humans co-habit the earth because we have a common ancestor.
@thraxman Except he quite clearly was serious. Even congratulated himself by asking, "that's a good question isn't it?" ... and Carlin couldn't respond! I was shocked and extremely disappointed in both of them.
@leonski35 I don't think Art actually thinks that...I think he was more or less playing devil's advocate in order to get more thoughts out of George...in other words, he's just providing other viewpoints for George to ponder, not necessarily his own...just my perspective...anyway, great upload...Art and George are royalty
I think the point I'm trying to make is that there is an upper limit as to how powerful an earthquake can be. Due to tectonic, volcanic or other inner Earth activity. Like you said the only thing in the earths past that even comes close is the hypothesis of the collision that created the moon. Though even that probably isn't equal to 10 trillion times a crustal shift. I'm thinking outright obliteration like getting caught in a black hole.
George my man you certainly tell it like it is. May your words continue to inspire and entertain generations to come. You will be missed!!! WOW a 25 scale earthquake lets try to put that in perspective shall we. The earthquake from the movie 2012 which shifted the earths crust was about a 12. A 25 DAMN!! I'm no expert but I do know the richter scale works in powers of 10 which would make it 10 trillion times more powerful than that. Thats no earthquake that is our planet exploding. Am I wrong?
@DeathBYDesign666 Good point,... a 25 (or there about) on the Richter scale is only detected in starquakes that I'm aware of, but potentially equal to something like an impact as per the hypothesis on how the moon formed (from the collision of a proto-planet).
@thraxman stars are electric, plasma cosmology is where its at.stars fission gas giants(give birth),gas giants fission terrestial planets and moons, geography and type of p;anet are determined by the electrical interaction during the birth.plus electric scarring occurs after the birth if planets pass each other closly.
@Faffel If I had a better example I would use it. Also they never mentioned a 12 scale earthquake in the movie. Though I'm pretty sure that's at least close to what it would be if it were to really happen. Basically what I was saying is that a 25 scale earthquake is impossible. So why not use it?
