@hjm1293 u can listen to some older work of A.R. Rehman its not similar to this but if u hvnt heard Indian music den it would be best to start frm Rehman..if u give some time to it u'll find that der is so much of great Indian non- bollywood music happening..mostly indie and hard to find on internet cuz its not commercial..
This is one of the best songs I ever heard in my life. I was wondering if someone can kindly introduce me to more such genre of songs. Would highly appreciate.
I think the Spanish vibe works well w/the song the one guy singing in the gypsy style is dope.Like the flamenco guitar & the way it shifts to that mellow bossa nova shuffle.gypsies have no homeland to speak of,but their roots are in India.True story
european music and indic music goes well but they should continue to use the classical western ochestra music and not they spanish one. i think that spoilt the feel for me.
Szeretem ezt a számot... Arra emlékeztet (persze némileg a cím is befolyásoló ebben :) ), mikor hazafelé tartasz egy hosszú útról, és egyre közelebb vagy az otthonodhoz, a szeretteidhez, nem?
This song makes me fill like back to ethopia where all humans find there roots....dont know why...corse its more a latino singing...but still creeps the crap out of me XD hairs standing on end nice post/song thx pedrodirector
romani gypsies are descendants of indians 1000 yrs ago....there a a lot of similarities in the romani and sub-continent languages, especially the more classical roots of our language....and i dnt know the translation..soz!
We call this Unity of great artists! What an amazing piece of work, GO with it and just close your eyes and go with the sounds, music and lyrics...everything...
its the album cover for nitin sawhney's album "beyond skin"- im pretty sure its a sculpture of nitin himself but i dont know if it was computer generated or actually sculpted or what
I'm sorry but don't have the answer to your ?. But have to say it looks like it can be taken as 'peace, turmoil, pain or pleasure' it's a fdabulous peace of 'art'. Thankyou for your post X
Thank you for posting this it is a song I am very passionate about it makes me feel things that I can not even understand. I want to lock myself in a room and listen to it over and over! I really want the cd but is it really 40.00!!!! That is a lot!
my freind burnt me a cafe delmar cd and this song is on "cafe delmar Vol 6". haha i know wzt u mean wen u feel things and lock urself away cos i do that haha.
i would like to see how your class is dancing to this song... such a great song.. when the dancing is just a little bit like the song, it must be awesome :)
what i love is that my most fave NS songs(of which there are too many to count) are so diverse and distinct..i dont think too many artists can match that. incredible..esp as an asian, there is always new talent breaking boundaries but defo stands out a mile. cant wait to see him next month! im a training journalist.wld love to write a piece on it..any suggestions how can get to interview him? or wld i have to be from a company already? be good to know
i dont know if youve seen him yet, but i saw him live about an hour ago, and he did a signing, i got a small chance to chat to him. Im sure if you ask him to hang around at the end he will happily give you an interview, he a really geniunly kind man :)
I had the pleasure of interviewing him recently and let me tell you- he's so humble and completely oblivious to his own genius- just makes his creative aesthetic that much more appealing.
At the end she says in portuguese... Everything you want...you have to learn. The palms of hands...if you have why! Fragile in that land...easy to change...the world trough away...everything ended. Its portuguese but the woman is Brasilian.

sjspokenword 3 years ago
I too had the pleasure of interviewing him in 2001 after the release of Prophesy. This was for my radioshow ; Kick jazz on 102.9 in Copenhagen.
His views of the world were very interesting and he elaborated on the themes of the album; Globalization and its sideeffect.
Also he talked about his kind of music and the medias urge to label it as Worldmusic. A term he disliked.
He is indeed a humble and wise man.
Trivia; In school he sat next to James Taylor from JTQ .
