Thanks so much! This video is awesome! I was in school for photography, and learned very quickly that once a photographer figures out a really great style or technique, they will take it to the grave with them. No one ever helped me, but this video is fantastic! Thank you!!
Are you sure it's Photoshop 8 (which is actually called Photoshop CS)? If you are using Photoshop *Elements* 8, then that is different. Unfortunately it doesn't let you edit curves like this.
If you wanted, you could try the free program "GIMP", which does work like this and I have another video tutorial for that :)
Seems like Elements has (limited) curves but doesnt have channels, which is what you really need to do this effect. Without using elements myself, i can't say how to do it, but if you download the GIMP (similar to photoshop, but free) you can do it.

question
is this like color balance?
nineteafive 2 years ago
Not exactly - color balance won't give you quite as much control or flexibility. I'm sure it could get a vintage effect with it if you tried though.

thank you!!

I used a free program called "Camstudio"

that was useless.
not one spinning scary hamster, imaginary lightsaber fight, chocolate rain performance, bad kung fu flip or inappropriate blending...
(thanx for teaching me curves tho :)

I have a question, well sort of.
I use adobe photoshop elements 6 and i don't have 'curves' or 'channel mixer'. Do you know if i could use anything else?
BMXchickxo 3 years ago
