my dad has a 2000 subaru impreza turbo. it had a stage one clutch, rebuilt gearbox and new de- cat exhaust. it needs 6 gears. 70 mph at 3000rpm...

Sweet vid. I got my neon with srt4 swap up to 148 and now when i drive it feels slow even at highway speed. To bad an old lady ran a red a t boned me , i miss that car. But with the insurance money im looking a a impreza 2.5 rs , so its not all bad.

I just droped a turbo in my 2.5 but the bottom end is laging but past 4 thousand it screams, N E one know how to kick up my low end because off the line it sux. I have a boost controler and when I cant seem to dial it in.....

The larger the turbo, yea you get more power in high revs but you have a crap load of lag down low, best bet is to get a Twin Turbo setup, one small turbo for low rpm's and a large for the upper range, it has worked for me for years.

Nah he is right, twin turbo is when you use the EXACT same turbocharger on both sides, hard to have twin on a Subaru, the the headers are for the most part not equal length

it is possible the engine is a 2.0 because the previous owner could have had to replace to engine because of a bad motor (depending on miles) and might have just looked for a impreza engine to replace it. but im not sure if they ever did make a 2.0 impreza i know they made a 1.8 and a 2.2.. id get it checked out.

The best way of knowing is with the engine code. Stamped directly on the top of the block. For example, my 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i comes with an EJ253 motor. (170hp N/A) A 2007 WRX has an EJ255 (224hp Turbo), and the 2007 STi has an EJ257 (293hp Turbo). Find your engine code. If it has "20" in it, its 2.0. If it has "25" in it, its 2.5.

Its not always the most acurate way, but a good way to find out.

In D1 the wrx, 2.5rs and evolution they use are all converted to RWD. In the evolution they even rotated the egine so it runs directly into the trany to the rear wheels like any other RWD car. You can't drift in an AWD car. Atleast not to sucessfully compete. The entire car would be going and you would have to take huge lines.

OK, I almost belive that. Oh i do cus subues can change there diff power in the front and back. As a matter of a fact most 4wd cars can be equiped with LSD adj diffs to do this. So when they set there 4wd to be a stable RWD like 20F-80R or 10F-90R they have an unfair advantage cus their really just running a stabilized version of RWD!! How could you not know that the make them dominate RWD for Drifting!!!!!!

Yeah i guess they are good street cars, but not exceptional street cars. The whole design of the suspention of a GC8 and WRX/STI is for Off road. The suspention is different than anything built for on road admittidly. The suspention of a GC8 wieghs near double that of an Integra. I know cus me and my buddy with his 00 2.5rs just put on Eibach Springs and AGX shocks, Identical to mine accept the rears in mine are tokico blues.

well the subbie is still better on the road than most front wheel drive cars ie you can change lanes faster, if you loose control over the car its much easier to get it back on track. integras are one of the best handling fwd drive cars in the world so im not sure if the 25rs can be compared to them, after all it is the low end impreza. As for a skyline, well most people dont wanna go through all the trouble of buying one in US. and sorry for the first comment i just felt like being a douche
