@juniorandandy Here's the deal, copyrighted material is NOT legal to upload according to my internet service provider. Various security outfits monitor some torrents, especially new Hollywood movies. When you download a torrent your IP address is visible to anyone by default in utorrent. There is a setting in utorrent called "forced encryption" I recommend it. The bottom line is don't start downloading things if you are scared, cuz yes, you can get in trouble. It's your choice.

@patrick1215lyons Torrents are uploaded in many file formats. AVI, DVDrip, Xvid, RAR, Flac, etc. WMV can't play them if it doesn't have the correct audio and video "codec" installed on your machine. I use CCCP Combined Community Codec Pack, I downloaded it with utorrent, or u can get it from their site. Most people recommend K-lite codec pack, it may be better, idk, I've never tried it. CCCP will NOT play RAR and some Flac (free lossless audio codec)

i know what you're problem is. a green thunderbolt doesn't neccessarily mean daemon tools is working, it's an outdated version. just check to see if daemon tools is installed and if it is, then you're all good.

seeding. is there is not enough seeds (you can check on the torrent) then it will go VERY slow. for example if there is 300 seeders the download would go fast, but if there is only 1 it would go slow. leechers also take into effect. if there is more leechers then seeders chances are the download will slow down a bit, not a lot, but a bit.

i'll tell you one thing. if you want to be safe from viruses there is 2 things you can do.

1. you can look for a pink or green skull on the thing you are trying to download, usually next to the user. this means that the person is a trusted user.

2. even if they do have a skull, READ THE COMMENTS. if they do not have comments, do not download it.

you have to download 7-zip and then right click on the rar file type and go to 7-zip and the extract here or to save disk space just do open arcive this will show what is inside the the file if you would have when to ask microsoft search for online program with the rar file it would have asked you to download winzip but its a trail 7-zip supports more file types and never expires have fun
