The dog really does not seem to appreciate the cat's approximations, but tends to avoid them. But of course it does not react adequately, because it has run through appropriate "prgrogramming".

I guess, the owner is proud of how well he has trained his dog.

No! In normal circumstances, the dog would defend itself against the cat and it would probably be successful. This is how things works in nature. So the dog's behavior shown in this video does not follow its natural course. I do not have to be a dog myself to recognize that.
