Absentee commentary notwithstanding,SMD:HCTP was good game however it's dated by today's gaming standards.N fact i only play this game every now and then to play wrestlers like Kevin Nash,Goldust,Goldberg,Scott Steiner who are'nt feature n latter SVR games

I remember being 11 (2004) and I saved up £20 (in pennies, etc) to buy this game.. and I never regretted it! I loved HCTP. I loved that era of wrestling, I loved the roster, the season mode, everything. Then I got the first SvR for my 12th birthday.. and knew the series were tumbling down hill. I'm 18 now, and I recently bought SvR2010 used.. and I gotta say.. it's fucking awful. Overcomplicated control scheme, no freedom, annoying commentary. Fuck the SvR series. Long live the SD series!

Best wrestling game ever, PERIOD!!! This game had the sickest roster ive ever seen! Undertaker, Big Poppa Pump, Lesnar, Batista, Goldberg, Kurt Angle, Road Warriors, Dudleys, RVD, Austin, The Rock... just to name a few!! Love the controls, loved the gameplay! Although I do like the current SVR games (even though 2010 sucks ass online because of all the glitchers and laggy ass server) they could be alot better if they went back 2 the 2 button countering system like HCTP and added free roaming.
