HOW TO: Record with HD-PVR

my only problem is that i record in sound but when i open it in sony vegas there is no sound so none of my vids have sound

@HARWII123 you are best to buy one from amazon or play - if anything goes wrong with it they can always replace it too... i got mine from play when they first came out and have no issues and also english plug...

I can get some component cables for PS3, but I use HDMI on HDPVR to TV, since it's only on component plug in. So is it only PS3 to PVR that needs Components like can you use PS3-Component-HDPVR-HDMI-TV-US­B-PC, or does it have to be component all the way=

@FrOzEnYoGuRtZzz thats because you don't have a component cable, you just have a composite, you have to buy a seperate cable from the ps3 to the hd pvr.

Can I use AVI cables that plug into the front of the PVR as the main ones? I have an HD TV but I had no idea I had to get component cables!

i have everything setup correctly.. then i get a picturere in arcsoft and all then after like 20 seconds it just cuts and says that the device is in use elsewhere... etc.. im thinkin its talkin bout the ps3 but i have tried for hours to fix :( look at my channel... newest upload is the attempt to record... you see it cut off

@dionb112 uninstall your hd pvr from the pc, then goto there website and download the new beta drivers.

@SkyJW15 hd pvr as av slots at the front and s video, if your tv supports these you just plug into the front instead of the back.

@Musicgamesandvideo no thats not it... bcuz i then downloaded sagetv and that recorded perfectly no problems... but its only a trial... and its akward to use... its arcsoft that has something wrong

@Musicgamesandvideo HD-PVR_1.5.6.1? yes . and this is brand new so the cd should have correct drivers? also im now experiencing the infamous malfunctioning usb ... which has nothing to do with the chord or jack so dont suggest they are the problem :(

@dionb112 no the new driver is 1.5.7.0 which fixes many known bugs and issues.

As for usb problem you should know that a usb port is always the problem when a usb malfunctions. (it never is the device hd pvr, printer or whatever)
