  • Honestly, this film looks like it sucks.

  • White people must all die!!! White devils!

  • It is fucked up that America did not learn to embrace the native people earlier

It is fucked up that native culture and art is not more main stream

  • wow bigots on this page...I can't believe people actually disliked this trailer..it's a good film and history as well

  • "I'm gonna out whiteman the goddamn whiteman!"

  • Wes Studi is the fuckin man!!

  • guys, if any1 knows any movie like this, can u tell me the name of it? i really need it for a presentation in few hours, i need it , aaahhh

  • Lord! Authoritarian scum . . .

  • @Directopalooza I guess that's what you get.

  • wow..amazing..awesome..just watched this in webmovietube

  • This was an amazing movie. Really made me take a look at my heritage, and what suffering they went through. I'm proud to come from something so strong.

  • Most people know nothing about the Indian slave trade.

  • white people.....may the creator have mercy on your rotten souls. you people have done nothing but create misery on this planet for peoples of color and you have to pay for that. you are a mutated, recessive demon seed and I hope I live long enough to see all of your asses burn. fuck you very much.

  • Damn Europeans! They took the land from all natives of america ! and then they call them immigrants or ilegal aliens ! The only immigrants are us!

  • Hey, anybody know who that actor is 0:53? I've seen him before and I can't remember where and it's driving me crazy.

  • teachers displaced grandmothers clan power & censored the matriarchy wisdom- teachers create inequality & teach wrong way of relating w others- screw up me & then my daughters now the grandkids- let matriarchy iroquois grandmothers RETURN

  • This is an Awesome depiction of the ONE of many wrongs done to the natives.

  • Great movie, finally something worth watching, whats amazing to me is that we haven't learned anything from it, my heart goes not only to The Native Americans but to African Americans and to the people of Afghanistan and Iraq and Vietnam and Japan and Cuba and so on...well i dont think its going to stop anytime soon, and you know why? just read the Comments,

  • We were so wrong to that .We should have learned and reqiured a proper education .Maybe we would have learned some thing

  • I saw this movie last night on cable. It hurt as this was done to my mother. She, and her siblings were "kidnapped" from their home while their dad was working. They made them walk along side the wagon, 75 miles away to the Stewart Indian School south of the Nevada capitol of Carson City. She will not talk about it anymore...

  • @dk7dk7

So very sorry for all the pain and suffering..

  • @dk7dk7 It's too painful as with my grandmother and great-grandmother....Peace

  • njoyed this great movie in webmovietube

  • That guy was such a self hating Native American. he pissed me off!!!!! Good movie though

  • I've just viewed the movie. This happened to Native American, Alaskan Natives etc. well into the 20th century! The Canadian gov't has apologized for their part and rendered raparations. The US gov't has not. Although money and an apology doesn't wipe away the Nation's sin it's an acknowledgement of the wrongness and admission of ignorance. The same would be appreciated from Blacks. My heart sunk as those children were captured (stolen) from their families. Many died from the abuse!

  • It is sad and unfortunate that the American Peoples of this land were moved aside like one would move a log from the pathway, then this has happened over and over again throughout the world, throughout all times. Hasn't there always been people who feel they knew better, what was best for all. Look at the plight of the aborigines in Australia, the Maya, Incas, Aztecs, the eskimos, the gentle tribes of Brazil, on and on, small people will always do this, but one cannot extinguish the light within

  • @neoshoman I am european born in USA and I felt bad for the Salvadorians, Mexicans and Native Americans in general! (not white latinos who are Europeans too) they took their land and did to them really bad things! a shame!!!!

  • also when i watched it i thought man black weren't the only ones who struggled hard in america

  • this movie pissed me off so bad

  • i have just finish watching this great film on encore westerns. I see many parallels to today, not even to mention the plight of the natives of this great country. God bless the American Indian, and forgive our ancestors for the terrible deeds they did in our ignorant state. GREAT FILM... God Bless

  • Beautiful music!!! Reminds me of the Bulgarian native music very much. I find a lot of similarities in the native american and bulgarian cultures

  • off thewarpath is bull shit

  • wes studi i thought was edward james almos at first

  • Comment removed

  • watched last night good film

  • Every one needs to see this movie, I have been watching a lot of Aborignal films because I need a change from the block buster bullshit movies. Not only does this touch on a very important issue our white asshole ancestors left us with but this film is ART. Beautiful, moving, raw..There is a lot of good talent out there in the Native American community that needs to be seen when it comes to films like this and actors. Watch it you will be moved. I hope to see more films like this.

  • @GreenCornify

That's just what I thought, too! There are so many gorgeous films made by NA artists in the states. Great stories, great actors AND real good entertainment at the same time. There's garbage on TV and cinema en masse. But here in Germany you have to actively look for this "film jewels" like "skins" and all the others.

So thanks for this trailer and all your comments.

  • @GreenCornify Tell me about it. According to Rotten Tomatoes Bridesmaids is better than Apocalypto.

  • This is such a good movie, but to be honest this trailer does not do it justice, JUST SEE THE MOVIE! :D

  • wow this sounds good

  • I've met most of these people. they filmed in a location close to me and stayed at the hotel i worked at :)

  • @ShelbyLinsea so have I, the actors are great! I met them when our theater class from HINU went to visit the set at the museum off mass street, and this is a really good movie

  • I'm watching it again right now on the Encore Western channel. It's coming on again tonight at 11:30pm eastern time on the Encore Western channel. It's such an amazing movie.

  • Available on Netflix. An absolute must see.

  • Watch/Read Rabbit Proof Fence too.

Seems the 20th century was brimming with cruelty....emotional, physical, spiritual, cultural genocides on every continent.

  • Just saw it recently. Not your typical Hollywood movie -- it's more like watching scenes unfold in real life. Great film.

  • When is this coming out on video? I really wanna see it!

  • cool movie, saw it on #FTW Go Movie World . com #CUTE

  • This is a great film. I thought it showed very well what the Native American children went through in these hellish "schools". One of my favorite scenes is when McCoy (the famous Indian "killer") walks into the school, and shoots a portrait of an "Americanized" (i.e. white) Native American, while the principal looks on in shock. McCoy says: "What you people are doing is much worse than anything I ever did to the Indians..." How very true. That time period was nothing short of genocide.

  • free website to watch this -> 1000 Movies Free . com

  • guys this is on 1000 Movies Free . com

  • Is this a movie about a residential school?

  • This was a pretty cool movie, at first I was really getting angry. But, in the ending it was so good, I am proud of this movie, I hope to see it again someday soon.

  • damn fama i aint even gon lie i seen this movie today on tv & i aint know yall natives had yall whole culture massacred by them white folks damn fam im black but that shit was like damn whatever white ppl seem to touch they RUIN it

  • Wes Studi's dialogue "I'm gonna out-whiteman the whiteman" is so telling of the mental slavery humans undergo, when they are subjected to such conditions over a long time. That is really the hypocrisy behind the beginning of the fall in American global hegemony.

  • a movie trying to be righteous but calls them indian how ironic

i am indian, they are natives for fucks sake get it right

  • @tjohn1986 They were trying to make a point about how the whites viewed all of us. Please don't act out and speak so negatively if you do not understand what is going on.

  • @tjohn1986 i understand where you are coming from but that is only a small minor thing.

  • Colonizing oppressors did to american people, what russian people did against their oppressors, one century later. That is where we see, violence leads to violence, except if we decide to think an other way (which has never be impossible).

  • im sure you all like these kinds of "sentimental" movies...but the direction seems to suck

  • You can purchase the DVD at the film's site - TheOnlyGoodIndian,COM

  • I would really like to see this movie...does anyone know where I can get it?

  • people always say the Nazi where bad for killing Jews truth truth but still who payed for the extermination of the Native ! its like every one forgot what happen !!

  • also thats where hitler got the idea from

  • Dawin has a lot to answer for?!!!! You fuckin moron! Dawin is a theory!

  • yes but look at what happened when people take notice to Darwins theory, look at the evidence above.

  • How can you get this movie?

  • @natthegirl movies2k

  • J Kenneth Campbell is the one-in-the same uber bad guy in the film Australia. He really knows how to make you hate him. This looks like an excellent film. Can't wait for the release. Anyone know the release date?

  • Darwin has a lot to answer for. God bless the American native.

  • @ziggy6848 Darwin has alot to answer for... And the god bless the Natives ?.. how ironic considering it was the religious people who branded them as savages and nearly killed them off.

  • @Tyrfingr Yes maybe, Religious people kill people all the time. But look at true christian missionarys like Brainard, who fought for Indian rights, and was well loved by many tribes. Johny Cash (christian) who gave his time and money for the rights of the American Natives, the list is endless.

  • @ziggy6848 Well i dont mean to seem offensive or anything, im just tired of the fundamental and organized religions that is what caused all these events in history. Individuals tend to handle belief in a proper way, but as soon as they group together it always takes a turn for the worst. The indians in the spiritual sense lived in ways that are far and beyond wiser and more respectful than us Europeans.

  • @Tyrfingr I Know where you are coming from, but fundamentalists have never grouped together, as they are called fundamentalists. also lets not paint all indian tribes as something of romantic. dont forget, many tribes butched other tribes for land, before the europians came.

  • @ziggy6848 I havent yet noticed that fundamentalists arent grouping together, least not the once i talked to. As for Indians, im simply pointing at something positive about them, that would have held us back from invading out of greed. If i said that you were marginalizing centuries of atrocities based on a few acts of missionary kindness. You would react thinking i was full of presumptions as well. I have spent some 20 years studying history to this point, in all genres and of all countries.

  • @Tyrfingr Really? Then why do so many aid groups in churches do so much good?

I'm going to point out something that I seem to have to repeat over and over again to many different people. People can always SAY they are one thing (Christian, for example), and not really BE that one thing. It's so easy to say "I'm Christian," but unless you LIVE it, unless you REALLY ARE CHRISTIAN, then you're lying. And so many people who have claimed to be Christian have lied.

  • @dovie317 Lied ?, isnt it more likely that people being brought up and having belief inforced by parents, will think that they are Christians. Only reason i say it, is because the large group were believers of god, even if it was a messed up view of the original message, No Church ever stepped in to stave off the mob. If anything it shows that organized religions are liable to be the most dangerous weapon in the hands of the wrong people.

  • @Tyrfingr I say lie because it is very, very clear in The Bible about the differences between Christian and not Christian.

And who is to say no church ever stepped in? Plenty of churches have always stepped up and stepped in. Plenty still do.

  • @dovie317 Well i dont think churches are even a necessity for the people who really follow the words of Jesus, i think he mentioned something about that himself. He must have noticed what bad influences groups have on the singularity of man. And dont take my oppionions to be full of hate, people often do. Im dissapointed with the lack of compassion and understanding amongst my fellow humans, and all the stupid behaviour, so as a result im reacting by the standards of the people i see everywhere.

  • @Tyrfingr Actually, Jesus points out religion is bad, not spirituality and not church. Psalms 92:13 is a perfect example of why church is important. Matthew 16:18 + 19, He builds His church. Philippians 2:2-4 He speaks about coming together to aid one another as a church body. Romans 10: 17, where do you HEAR the Word of God but at a true church? Proverbs 11:14, wise counsel comes from church, from hearing Word of God. Church allows us to come together and strengthen one another and form bonds.

  • @Tyrfingr So yes, church is important. It is easy for those who are truly Christian, who have picked up The Bible for themselves as well (it says in The Bible to be a good student, and study on your own as well to find the heart), to be able to tell these things apart; churches which are true, and places that claim to be churches and are not.

Also, again, keep in mind not everyone is the same. Open your eyes and look deeper. There are surface people, and there are those who are deeper.

  • @Tyrfingr For example, take two children. One is a girl wearing a dress, and the other is a boy wearing a dress. The girl says she is a girl. The boy says he is a girl. Do you believe the boy is a girl just because he says he is, and he is wearing a dress?

No. You do not. So would you believe that someone is Christian just because they say they are? Do you blame all Christians for someone one person, who lied and said they were Christian, did? No. No, you do not.

  • @dovie317 I never did blame all christians for something one person did, i look at what the masses do, consistent behaviours and then draw my generalization from there. I guess i believe people when they say they believe in something, they might act in contradiction, but i dont doubt that they really believe. Some people can be raised to believe from the cradle, others it would seem turn into Hitler jugend, followed by becoming fanatical robots. See fanatical muslims for good example.

  • @Tyrfingr And those are individuals. Generalizing is what leads to disastrous things. See racism for example. :)

BTW, general populace actually AREN'T Christian. General populace has never BEEN Christian. You cannot believe everything you hear or are told. Bear that in mind, as it will serve you well in life.

  • @dovie317 Generalizing can lead to disastrous things, but it can also help you to avoid groups. Racists for example. :)

General populace are secular, and used to be forced into christianity, and those who didnt really believe pretended at best to stay alive.

As for hearing and being told, i dont even watch TV since years back, i only turn it on to check the Hockey tournament, and Olympics every fourth year. You will probably more find me to be a philosopher. It's all i need to handle life.

  • @Tyrfingr Exactly, general populace is secular. You can't believe what a secular group tells you about a group that isn't secular, seeing as they would not know and would not have any experience whatsoever. Do try to discern the difference between spiritual people and secular people before making generalizations about spiritual people. I would also ask that you research more before trying to make a generalization about organize religion being to blame for atrocities.

  • @dovie317 If you want to debate this issue, i would much preffere to take it by Pm. Character limits, and 3-4 seperate comment inputs of different topics is a bit of a head ache to deal with. Something new always arises in these discussions.

Im quite spiritual myself thank you, not just abiding to any religion.

  • @Tyrfingr Sure, feel free to PM me to discuss this point.

  • @ziggy6848 Amen to that.

  • People, you're not getting the point. The point is this country is finally finding out the truth, the horrible truth of what has been done to our Natives! The "Ghost Dance" prophecy is being fulfilled!

  • They diserve to be drivin down

  • Agreed, still it was nothing more than a broken arrow.

  • U r a piece of s*%@t. No one deserves to be treated like the Indians were & are.

  • @GIRLFRIENDCHICKS Ummmm, who, pray tell?

  • @WhiteStarWoman This may sound like a stupid question but what is the "Ghost Dance" prophecy?

  • @WhiteStarWoman Ur right on that

  • @WhiteStarWoman Maybe the Ghost Dance prophesy is being fulfilled. But all Americans who are not Tribal Americans/ First Nations/(Indians) have not vanished . The Ghost Dance people seem to have been the equivalent of hard-core Evangelical Christians, that is, convinced the world was going to end, and wanting to take part in it. I have nothing against people like that unless they hurt or abuse other people, but people who believe things like that scare me terribly. Continued.

  • @ARP7777777 The Ghost Dance wasn't about the end of the world. It was about the creation of a better one similar to what many believe 2012 will be when there'll be a shift in global consciousness ushering this world into a more enlightened state. The people were desperate and had to believe in something because their reality was so painful and horrifying. They portrayed the ultimate example of faith and were murdered at Wounded Knee because of it.

  • @WhiteStarWoman Terribly sorry you think so. I have a fear of apocalyptic visions, and the kind of people who want them to come to past. I have a fear of people like that. I did not think the Ghost Dancers were dangerous, just sad. But when people talk about the end of the world, and spiritual favoritism, I become ill. I had no intention of insulting you or anyone else. I have a BIG mouth. What can I do to get you to forgive me??

  • @ARP7777777 I have the same fear of the extremists and I have no use for religion. I see it as one of the ills of our society. There's nothing to forgive. I'm just happy to share what I know about our very misunderstood Natives. I write for a "Native" online magazine and would love to have you check us out! Look up Whispernthunderdotorg or check out the beginnings of our Youtube channel titled Whispernthunder! Also look up my vid Lost Bird of Wounded Knee for a tear jerker.

  • @WhiteStarWoman You never know what people who think this world is only a stepping stone will do. I think of Jonestown, and the Spanish Inquisition.

  • @ARP7777777 Now you sound like the paronoid white soldiers that murdered those at Wounded Knee and Turkey Creek. They were so afraid of our Native's spirituality. If they had stopped to ask what it was really about, nah, they wouldn't get it.
