Very good job. Even though I know the exercise asked to film part of it, I think I would have considered starting them in the bed maybe? the dancing scene is crucial. I think them discovering the yard sale and him playing with the typewriter not so much. As well shot and acted as the story may be, the way you have it really is no arc or does not answer enough of the questions you posed (or that Carver presents more accurately). Still good job.
A very good adaptation. And a nice preview of the Hollywood version that I've read is coming. Its called "Everything Must Go" and its starring Will Farrell.

This was really well acted and shot, but you left out the ending! The dancing scene is crucial.
