BTW, perhaps you should consider using an actual SMB for shooting purposes instead of a lift bag. Not only are the dump valve positioned in different places, the shape of the lift bag makes it difficult for others (boaters) to spot you in the water.
Lastly, An abort dive signal (thumb up) should not be preceded by a question signal. An abort or end dive signal should be an absolute. No questions asked.
As mentioned, the bubbles from the cylinder are worrying. Also, if you stow your light before deploying the SMB then you wont be blinding your camera man/buddy.
Can you recall what setup this was?
I am interested in how to setup a cold water sidemount set up.
Steel or Ali cylinders? What wing? Backplate or flexible harness? Weight?
