all this Talking Heads "talk"....is there a problem if a band MAY be influenced by one of the most innovative bands of the 70's,80's and 90's? - we should be so fortunate if others want to put some Head's into their music - frankly I say Bell X1 are damn original and sound damn good - what else is needed?

"Talking Heads impersonators" is a bonehead comparison just because the lead singer AT TIMES sounds A LITTLE BIT like Byrne. They are as far removed from the Heads as Devo are from the Carpenters. This is one very talented band and I only see them getting bigger & bigger. I hope they can retain their originality & charm as their star continues to rise. Bravo, chaps!

Ok, I'm a huge Talking Heads fan and I do hear some TH in BellX1's uptempo songs (I just heard of BellX1 so I can throw out song names). But, this song... I don't hear any. The lead singer only sounds like Byrne- to me- when he speeds it up. I guess that's why, so far, I only like the up tempo stuff and some of the live clips I've. The studio recordings seem stiffer and a little slower.

Brian- How can you compare them to talking heads, thats complete rubbish! they are Irelands best band at the minute, they are around ages and songs like ill see your heart, slowset are classics. they dont sit down and say, hmmm what TALKING HEADS songs will we rip off? what songs sound like Talking heads??

If they were talking heads impersonators then they would be called "chatting craniums" or something similar but they are not. The lead singer Paul Noonan may remotely sound like David Byrne but that is it. Bell X1 have their own original sound nothing like Talking heads.

Well, Brian, I think it's a futile endeavor to argue opinions, but what I hear is Talking Heads. I'm sorry if that offends you in any way, but I find it a tad offensive when someone else tries to tell me what I hear.

no. there are a few songs that could remind someone of TH, but others sound like Snow Patrol, Coldplay,...or maybe just like Bell X1! :-)
