  • Casey Jones, heh heh. This story makes me cry but I can't help laugh at 'the story of Casey Jones.'

  • January 15th - National Sullenberger Day !!!

  • I know someone who survived the plane that crashed in Sioux City Ia, completely changed his---he was a money starved ladder climber always landing the deal---after the crash--over time---he sold literally everything he had and bought an rv and travelled the country. Always finding a story and people to help. Today, very content and happy, married and 2 kids, still giving of himself and literally has no attachment to monetary crap. He lives how we all should.

  • Here's a thought...get off your high horses and switch places with the crew and passengers on that flight...still want to focus on the negative...I don't think the saying "There are no Atheists in Foxholes" would still be relevant today...we are all entitled to our beliefs and thoughts....especially when we think we are about to die! How dare you all write such horrible nasty negative things!

  • No wonder this country is not only in the toilet but flushed....most of the comments on all of the coverage are negative and cynical...nasty, let's see you jerkoffs be on this plane, how would you be feeling right now...and those, "sick of this (positive, happy ending) story already...ship yourselves off to Iraq, Afganistan...now that's old news and a disaster you should fit right in, but oh, that's right all you can do is make stupid remarks, get over yourselves and do something remarkable, NOW

  • But maybe we should try and stick to the subject here: flight 1549. : )

  • If "God" created the "miracle" of having a skilled pilot and the Hudson River there, did "Satan" send the flock of birds that hit the plane? Or were those birds just "God's" idea of a joke or something? Superstitious people are weird!!

  • "Superstitious people are weird!!"

Science does not explain everything. If you think it does, or it's supposed to, then you need to do more thinking. By the way, Kevin Cosgrove, whose WTC 911 call was recorded called out to God as the building collapsed on him. He, like you, was also too proud for God, but God was the last word from his lips. Folks like you are hypocrites. When things are well, you don't believe, but the last word from your dying lips will be God, asking Him to save you.

  • tamarind. No matter how hard a situation you are in, reality will never change, the laws of physics will never change.. "Gods" or "Toothfairies" won't suddently exist, just because you're having a tough time! So no, I will never, ever "pray" to Santa Claus, God or The Easterbunny, and if I get terminal cancer, I will not go to some faith-healer con-man, but trust in modern science and only that. I am atheist and sceptic because nothing supernatural exists, it's not just an opinion, it's reality.

  • "reality will never change"

This part is not true. There is a lady back at my church in NY who was diagnosed with breast cancer, by three different doctor, and was told she needs a mastectomy. We prayed for and she went again and they could not find the cancer! This was 15 years ago and she is fine. She did not take any meds either, so u can't say it was drugs. Her reality didn't change? Not everything is science. Some things require faith, like evolution does. You have faith in it.

  • tamarind. And about the breast-cancer case: Most probably it was all a lie. But other possible explanations are that she was wrongly diagnosed, that she didn't have breast cancer, that it was just a benign tumor, or that it was a type of breast cancer that passes, disappears by itself. One totally impossible explanation is that "Santa Claus", "Sky-Daddy", "God" performed a miracle on her(maybe while taking a break from his giving infant children AIDS or cancer, haha) Gods or santas don't exist!

  • Yeah, misdiagnosed by at least three different doctors. You need to admit that the reason you don't want to believe in God is because of your lifestyle issues. You are afraid of a judgment. Maybe one day the flying spaghetti monster that you believe in will save you.

  • "I am atheist and sceptic because nothing supernatural exists"

Really? And how do u know this? Because u don't believe in something makes it non-existent? So, before we were able to see microbes, they never existed? Your logic is seriously flawed. So you only believe in what's proven to you? if it hasn't been proven to you, you won't believe it?

  • tamarind. Thanks to modern science we know that nothing supernatural can exist..because it would break the laws of physics. So there are no gods, no souls, no after-lives, no telepathy, no psychic abilities, the list goes on and on unfortunately..since con-men and/or deluded people can make gullible or stupid people believe just about anything, it seems. Cheers!

  • it would break the laws of physics, thats funny !

There is no proof for such things...... no proof for god and no proof for that he doenst exists.

Whatever you believe in, keep the faith !

  • The Universe is really cool... hehehe

  • It's all chance and probability based on what was available when the event happen... that's all...

  • Pathetic. 1 star.

  • you're pathetic and also a waste. loser.

  • Thank the pilot. He was amazing.

  • Isn't it pathetic? That we need a brush with death to gift us with a passion for life...

  • incredible story
