  • Where is the LEGEND button??

  • I love this music and video. and I love India very much.

  • Fuck im 30 n with tears!!!

  • Vande Mataram!

  • The Kuchipudi dancer I dunno but the song was in telugu. Bala murali Krishna who is actually a telugu person sings in telugu here, unlike the other ad in which he sings in tamil. So the song is sung twice in telugu (once during kuchipudi dance and again Dr. Bala murali himself sings solo before violin). But the music is carnatic.

    Wow great days

  • In the twenty years since videos like these used to show up on Doordarshan, the private TV channels have indeed been successful in pulling audience away from quality entertainment and have them on a dose of mediocre programs. And what bothers me more is that I dont know whom to blame. Myself? for the programs I get to watch these days, or, the TV channels who dont give a damn anymore about the quality of programs they air.

  • BEST ...nothing else.

  • this is one great song

  • who is the kuchipudi dancer? from 3:54

  • i need to know too.... somebody

  • She is Mallika Sarabhai

  • It extracts our (Indian) culture through musical instruments. As it said "Music doesn't have any language"

  • this reminds me of integrity that hardly any political parties talk abt....Please someone show this vid to them...

  • Bharatnatyam is by Swapnasundari

  • Excellent work. Proud to Indian.

    Vande Mataram

    Jai Hind

  • I don't understand the lyrics. What is after "Baje Sargam Har taraf se.."?

    What does it mean?

  • the rest of the lyrics are "Goonje Bankar Desh Raga"...roughly translated the entire line would mean-' hear the melodies playing in all the directions, echoing together as Desh Raga" or also "melodies playing in all the directions, echoing together as Desh Raga'...that's my best guess....

  • Got it! Thanks!!

  • I think the Manipuri dancer is Darshana Jhaveri

  • ^^^^^^^^^enggmgmt

    The Bharatanatyam dancer is Swapnasundari

  • Carnatic vocalist and Violinist : Balamurali Krishna

Veena: if i am not grossly wrong Chitti Babu

If anybody finds any more info please post it. Thank You.

  • The Veena rendition is by Vid Balachandar and if I'm not mistaken the Kathakali dancer would be Sri Chandu Panicker

  • @enggmgmt Veena is S. Balachander.

  • I tried my best to identify all the maestros ; dancers, musicians , singers in the video : Tabla : Ustad Zakhir Husain and Ustad Allah Rakha Sarod : Ustad Amjad Ali Khan Ghoomar dancer Sindhi Sarangi being played Kathak : Shovana Narayan (vocals by Kavita) Odissi : Protima Bedi Can't figure out who the Manipuri dancer is , same with the Kathakali dancer Mohiniyattom : Kanak Rele Kuchipudi : Mallika Sarabhai Bharatanatyam : unfortunately no idea
  • how about Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. he is the one with the vocals in the background.

  • we all have grown up listening this...i used to dance alot on every instruments...it is awsome!!!God bless all the musicians, dancers and the ppl who brought them together!!

  • DD used to rock!

its sad they are trying to emulate the stupid soap operas and stuff.

they should try and go back to the previous DD
