I got new pedals this week. Looking round for something rather than people playing lightning fast single stroke runs, this is what YouTube is all about! It has a great feel and seems to come out really naturally. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Yea, I guess it does sound similar to pwitl. I have another pattern that's pretty cool that I should put up. I haven't done a double kick one video in a while.
Is really cool when you see a drummer trying some new beats in doble bass...i'm tired of that shit of "the fastest double bass" and stuff...by the way...nice groove you got there...
Great job man love the groove, adler is the master at that sort of thing. I guess im with "schtegg88" on double bass, im just starting to get it, but yer left foot needs work. But yer hopefully with time it all comes together. Do u use the book "stick control?"
Im quite comfortable with holding down a fair speed beat with single strokes and I use heel toe to get some nice little licks of triplets and fours. I really struggle playing things at speed for long times though, it almost feels as though because my feet are constantly up and down Im not balanced, is it jsut practive to get there? Ive been listening to a lot of devildriver recently, quite like the drums and just cant do it for more than like 4 bars lol any tips?
when ever i try do double kick really fast i go good for about a second and then i start to sort of just twitch with my legs and my muscles become all tense so it is'nt very loud and ounds terrible.any pointer? PLEASE REPLY!
Relax when you play. Raise your seat so that you can play with your ankles. Check out Spikeydrummer on youtube. He has great lesson videos. another Technique is the flat foot technique. For that you use your whole leg.
does this actually improve your speed? or just like co-ordination of the kicks? i wud like to improve my speed... cud u watch sum of my vids and any tips??? btw love the pedal... thanx for any tips...
It helps improve control, which in turn can increase speed. But it's all about putting in the hard work and technique. I've gotten much better even since this video.
I started w/o shoes. Now I put them on to try. I can't keep consistent 16th on the bass at all. I rekon no shoes = rox. Nice pattern man. Very nice control. I like your snare tune as well. Keep it up.
pretty sure you are starting with triplets too (16ths) then going into slower 8th note triplets, no? cool patten!

I have the same problem with balace at times. Just stay relaxed and don't over play or over think! Just keep at it, there really is no other way.

wer is ur snare at? mine sits between the 2 pedals, is ur way easier?
danmasterdan 4 years ago
I put the snare off to the right, just so I could get a good shot of the feet. ;) Normally it goes right where the camera is pointed.
