Five episodes pass- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa­aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. In yyh its first battle episode yoske. Abyuss. Aaaaaaa. Wooooosh all bird like. And he's done. Lol that's my opinion :D

There's 1 thing (and tons more) about YYH that pwns bleach... the animation. The animators seem to put much more work and details in the graphics than bleach.

That's not true. What you mean is that yu yu hakusho is more dramatic and they put more work into the actual fight scenes. The fight scenes don't last 10 episodes, the most is like 4 or 5. Bleach is newer so it's graphics are a huge step above this.

Well in bleach they kind of "stall" their fight scenes a lot in order to make it longer by making the characters hesitate/talk while exchanging blades. The characters also look a bit "deformed" during the fight scenes. In YYH I know its older but I like how they draw the characters in better details, like with the dirt/ripple lines.

@messed2552 THAT'S THE WORD. "Detail". Bleach has more facial and body detail being the product of newer technology and animation tools. "Animation" is where it presumably lacks.

YYH has very little if any filler. When people say filler, I take it as meaning "wasn't in the manga". As long as the filler isn't every two episodes and breaking up a fight every five minutes stuff like Yusuke and crew getting used to normal life again or Goku learning how to drive are fairly entertaining.

@XHolyPuffX animation and artwork are two different things. Not that I'm an art major and yes this is an old debate, but it's at the top here so... Death Note has AMAZING depiction at various points, but the animation is very low, it's very still and it emulates the amount of private thought and monologue that exists inside the manga. Bleach is new but it's animation isn't great, as much as I've seen, things move rapidly but stuff like how Yusuke moves and twists during fights, and the way...

One of my favorite moments was when Yusuke faced the Doctor, and I'm no art major but this is something that really caught my eye because that fight sequence had a lot of direction and dodging the likes of which I didn't know an anime as old as YuYu could even DO. The animation of YuYu during scenes like the aforementioned Doctor fight, the Sensui fight (his freaking long-legged kicks), and when Yusuke does a "hand-slide" after...

getting knocked back by Toguro right in the beginning of the fight all display better animation then what I've seen in Bleach.

The best movements I've seen in Bleach are in the openings, other than that, it's generally a lot of the same "OMFG sword slash-blasts" and "I cut/stabbed you off-screen" and "I killed you before the fight started" kind of actions. Of course, there's a lot of filler/additional arcs I haven't seen so the animation probably has improved.

@XHolyPuffX There's a difference between animation quality and computer graphically cell shaded vs REALLY ANIMATED. You obviously don't understand the difference. Animation has to do with how the characters move and how well the fights are choreographed. How realistic the movement looks etc. Bleach is inferior to YYH in every imaginable way except how sharp the colors are, seeing as, again, it was computer animated, and not hand drawn.

I see what you're trying to say, and I agree with you. Bleach has more aesthetically pleasing animations (the 3d-looking animations that look more realistic) and higher resolution because it's newer and it's able to look better due to modern technology. I said "that's not true" because that's not the REASON why YYH is better than Bleach. YYH is better than Bleach because it has less filler and it seems like more effort was put into it.

Overall, I like both, and I think Bleach has better animation (duh, it's not from the 90s like YYH) but I'd have to say, YYH isn't long and drawn out to the point it feels like a pain to get through, and Bleach is, I've had to watch it on and off over the last couple of years :/
