The trick is....

The person is a real illustrator who understands depth, colour, light, dark so on and so forth. If one can't rock a pencil, there's no way in hell one could do this in photoshop.

One thing I do notice though is there's alot of adding then subtracting. Even if mistakes are made they're easy to subtract. But, maybe they're not mistakes? I guess no ones perfect but at least one can catch their own mistakes and repair.

Read it again... There's no CLEAN undo. It comes close with an eraser but there's no CLEAN undo. And I did know that. I've watched professional painters illustrate and paint in front of me since I was born and even THEY tell me "you have to commit" and "there's no clean undo".
