im trying to start a online tournament and not many of my friend don't have it so if u want 2 join come to the website a chat wit me and my friend dogg. if u kno anyone the have this game tell them 2 join the tournament
Karas is an advanced fighter but his functionality at sporadic moments is unreliable and only has about 1 reliable special since you have to combo/counter into the others. The problem with Ryu is he's the most predictable fighter in the whole game and he's a poor choice for tourneys. In terms of flexibility Batsu, Chun Li, Tekkaman Blade, Yatterman, Ryu, Ippatsuman, Morrigan and Casshan are best imo. Atm my best survival score is 48 with Tekkaman Blade and Ryu :P
As much I dislike Ryu, he's still one of the most reliable and widely used characters to use in terms of overall balance in tournaments... He doesn't have any bad match-ups, but doesn't really have any good ones either.
@RoyalFlush ryu is favorable but I don't use him some thing I use against ryu is roll or ken I use dodge on attack by doing the science nimpo phoenix.
I use to play with the wiimote. However, it is not that fun without the wiimote because the wiimote simplified the commands. I do not see that as a bad thing because it brought immediate enjoyment to the player. But i do not people calling me cheap. Besides, i stop using the wiimote because your moves was limited and that sucks. The half circle commands, in my opinion, are hard to execute and it is retarded. Am i the only one feeling this way?
I'd recommend playing this game with arcade stick, classic controller, or GC pad (which ever one fits your budget and/or your willingness to get better at TvC).
@WhiteEmerald1991 If you think that using the GC, classic controller and arcade stick isnt hard use. The half circles and quart circles and the Z motion is what makes many fighting games fighting games. That's the big argument about TvC of how its simplified, its still fun, but i find many wii mote/nunchuck users to spam often.
Good stuff, Got the US version the day it came out, and have been practicing my butt off. Ippatsuman is so sick, he's probably my main as of right now. I love Volnutt too, but I don't always do as well as I would like with him. I've gotten some Baroque combos down, but I still have some issues blocking correctly and knowing when to go in for the kill :-/
go to a tournament and youll be walkin out being laughed at dumbass, wii mote has SIMPLIFIED CONTROLLS. Besides i can own your whole bullshit team with Karas. Matterfact anyone except for you who replies to this comment can beat your cheezy team. P.S YOUR NOT THE FUCKING BEST DICKHEAD
You are right with the wii remote. It does has simplified controls. However, it is knowing what to press is what more important. Believing is acheiving Xx. You just do not understand. I may not be the best now because i just got the game. But believe me, i will be the best. And you will see me walk out the door with a trophy in my hand. Don't believe me? Well, all i can say is to just wait. Wait.
I find it quite funny how deluded you are. If you honestly think that you'll become the best in the world then good luck to you, but don't go around acting like this.
i am not deluded because i am going to be the best by losing. This is a fact because a true champion is not defined by how many wins he gets but by how many losses he earns. thanks. and good luck to you.
so, 'Flush, im assuming u heard all the announcments for this game, like Tekkaman Blade, Frank West (he's covered war y'know), Joe the Condor and Zero. and the addition of online
Polymar has several nice tools that most characters in the game don't have (nice ground mixups, awesome multi-hitting assist, grab resets, safe 2C slide into decent combos) but has trouble with characters that control the arena better with keep away or better attack reach, so Polymar is normally forced to play all offense or play it smart and know when to strike.
Keep away/better attack reach sounds like anyone using Saki and I've seen vids with her. She's a beast at keep away in the right hands. Plus since I'm usually an all offense player in these type of games then Polymar seems like a good choice. I'll consider maining him when the game comes out.
In reference to keep away characters and arena control, I was thinking more the likes of Doronjo, Yatterman, Ken, and Rock. Saki's keep away is okay, but requires a lot of preparation, especially on the ground, to be really threatening. The other characters I listed can play keep away better than character that have simple fireballs and can do it anywhere (ground or air).
Well I agree with Rock and Yatterman but I haven't seen much of Doronjo on any videos so IDK if she's any good. All I know is she's really hard to use. And the game is getting tweaks and stuff so they may make her a bit better *Like her summons come out faster or something*
Well, we've been playing the Japanese version that came out in December '08. The U.S. will have a lot of general and character-specific tweaks that many people already playing the game will have to adjust to.
So, just some friendly advice -- it's really up to you: play the Japanese version to become familiar with game before the U.S. release, or just wait for the U.S. release so that the gameplay tweaks aren't too much to keep up with.
I wouldn't say so. Excluding giants, all characters only have one assist, but some assists are better than others (Tekkaman, Polymar, Chun-li, Karas, Ryu, Morrigan all have great assists). Unlike MVC2, you cannot assist while blocking any way. One advantage of TvC assists is that the assisting character can impede continuing combos due to acting a bit heavier than the active character (so no snapback -> launch assist 'til dead shenanigans). Assisting is generally less spammable in TvC.
it seems power rangers > ryu.

Wait we actually beat each other, respectfully, during the 2 vs. 2.
