I'm looking for a calm and reasonable response to this: can somebody explain how Israel is "occupying" any of its land? Last I checked, the way that they got Gaza/West Bank was when all of the surrounding Arab countries attacked Israel in '67, and were driven right back out. The quote is accurate. Your interpretation of it would have been foreign to Jefferson. His point was that the state should not forcibly establish a religion upon its citizenry. To the contrary, the Constitution protected the rights of individuals to believe as they wish. What you read as freedom FROM religion, Jefferson understood as freedom OF religion. Last I checked, the way that they got Gaza/West Bank was when all of the surrounding Arab countries attacked Israel in '67, and were driven right back out. The quote is accurate. Your interpretation of it would have been foreign to Jefferson. His point was that the state should not forcibly establish a religion upon its citizenry. To the contrary, the Constitution protected the rights of individuals to believe as they wish. What you read as freedom FROM religion, Jefferson understood as freedom OF religion. If you want to know who the "good guys" are and the "bad guys" you should find UN-biased documentation/ facts on this "Palestinian"/ Israel conflict. It's not really the "Palestinians" it's more of all the Arab nations vs Israel.
But you can look at it this way. I'm an Army paratrooper, and I can tell you right now if I had to live in the middle East for the rest of my life I would choose Israel. Because I actually know the facts. Unlike the idiots here.

@KyoNingyo Hamas may be the direct result of Israeli injustice but you're forgetting these terror groups were around before Hamas came into being, they just weren't called Hamas. In 1948, when the Arabs rejected the UN charter (which ironically they hold by so dearly now), it was the ARABS that attacked, not Israel. Let's not forget that. Israel was fine with the split & their current stance on expansion wouldn't be here if the stubborn Arabs would have accepted a 2state solution from the start.
