well people thought they glassed the planet but a spartan called the oly oly oxen free and master chief and the other 4 survivors of halo 1 (polski, lockhart, harvard, and sgt. johnson) went to reach with admiral whitecomb to save the other spartans. its all in first strike.

ok...thefargee....they glassed reach, somepeople got off, some spartans survived, the people that got off were in HALO:combat evolved, then they die on halo, the people you said got off but by the end of the first strike they were all dead but johnson and the spartans they managed to save. The in the forth book they introduced some sparatan(can't remeber his same) not "oly oly oxen free", which in itself was only an all clear call, is on a planet that is trained spartans 3's

no ur wrong. i remember that part. they return to Reach and the entire thing was NOT glassed. The covenant didnt glass 1 part because they wer looking for those rocks with the wierd markings and that was underground, where the survivng spartan 2's on Reach wer hiding.

reach was the UNSC's headquarter planet that also was the training planet 4 the spartan 2s. reach was glassed by the covenant which killed most of the spartans and the pillar of autumn did a random jump as per Cole protocol before jumping 2 the halo ring where halo 1 started... read the books for the whole story

I KNOW what Reach is. I didn't know that the planet you flew towards at the end of Halo 3 was reach.

His comment isnt a spoiler. They dont land on reach, spark says they are beyond the edge of the galaxy. Reach was more towards the center of the galaxy. Thats all I say.

I thought Reach was destroyed in the first halo game by the covenant when they invaded it...

It wasnt destroyed, just glassed. There is even a cutscene of the Covanant glassing it at the begining of halo 2 when the arbiter is on trail.

glassed means that the atmosphere was burned away and the planets surface so even with the chiefs suit he would only last 90 minutes there. also i was not aware of the fact that Reach was close to the Ark
