The page heading at 4:00 says "Equivalent Series Resistance" (ESR). But the plot on that page shows as much the effect of equivalent series inductance (ESL) as of ESR. It is the ESL that causes the phenomenon pointed out in the annotation, that "At higher frequencies the impedance will being to increase."

Hello I've also built this charge pump using a baseline PIC- there is feedback, just inlined 2 LEDs for voltage control.
It works for the app- only one extra volt is needed, less than 1 mA.
It is even more simple than in the video.
I've even recorded the noise from the digital I/O charge line.
