I love the Thomas Jefferson quote, ofcourse one can compare Minerva and the birth of Jesus, they stem from the same tradiotions in telling a story, most of the Bible is written by and for people that lived 2000 years ago. That doesn't mean that it's not interseting to us anymore, but it musn't be read literary, and definatley not made a joke of by people who consider it dumb because of the way it is written. It's symbolic. But that's a whole other discussion, I got carried away. Nice video!!
No outdoor Christmas tree this year. My town didn't want to offend those who were irritated and complaining about having to put up with Christmas and trees and religion. They feel it's okay to light candles and gather for cocktail parties on the winter solstice, but another Christmas??? Progressive liberals are so suffocatingly borish and arrogant. They truly truly look down their noses at anyone of faith, any kind of faith. I'm not religious but I love those who are: they're the best people.
Card carrying ACLU member here, and I am a church going Christian. I attend church twice a week, serve in many church duty positions, and have only missed service once in 2011...Sorry Bill and Ann, but I'm just not a member of a Fox News congregation.
America was discovered by pot smoking shamans actually. Shit, given my American citizenship, that means I should engage in bizarre rituals I personally don't believe in or at least respect them when they want to enshrine their religious practices into law! Oh wait, that only applies to the most recent, white skinned discoverers of America.
You know what? The ACLU is against Christmas. It constantly goes on about how we should say 'Happy Holidays'. You know what, Merry damn Christmas. I hope it offends you. I don't celebrate Hanukkah, but yet I don't tell Jews to shut up. Imagine saying to a Jewish person sternly "I don't celebrate Hannukkah." Also, please stop with this nonsense about America not being founded by Christians. Jefferson and Franklin were diests. EVERYONE ELSE was Christian. Does the term Red Herring sound familiar?
@jasonfkg It doesn't matter if everyone was Christian or not. America wasn't founded on Christianity. The government shouldn't support any religion nor should it discriminate against any religion.
@IKillBabyKittensLOL I think you're trying to imply that these were a bunch of Christians who simply happened to believe in the ideas that founded America. You can't ignore that there is a strong Christian element in the Declaration of Independence. Take the First Ammendment for example. These were descendants of puritans who faced religious descrimination from the less religious Elizabethans and were still facing some in the late 1700s. Religious freedom is not just a one-way door for atheists.
i love how Coulter dismisses the whole of the North American population of First Nations people and their varied spiritual beliefs when she says America is a Christian country. Way to ignore the first peoples, Ann!!
"Religion is the basis and Foundation of Government."
--James Madison (Father of the U.S. Constitution)
"We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not on the power of government...but upon the capacity of each and every one of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."
“Now ALL ACTS OF LEGISLATURE apparently contrary to natural right and justice, ARE, IN OUR LAWS, and must be in the nature of things, considered as VOID. The laws of nature are THE LAWS OF GOD; whose authority can be superseded by NO power on earth. A LEGISLATURE must NOT obstruct our obedience to Him from whose punishments they cannot protect us. All human constitutions which contradict His [God’s] laws, we are in conscience bound to disobey.”
"RELIGION, MORALITY and KNOWLEDGE are NECESSARY to GOOD GOVERNMENT, the PRESERVATION OF LIBERTY, and the happiness of mankind."
-- United States Supreme Court, 1892
"RELIGION must be considered as the FOUNDATION on which THE WHOLE STRUCTURE RESTS. In this age there can be no substitute for CHRISTIANITY; the great conservative element on which WE MUST RELY for THE PURITY and PERMANENCE of free institutions."
"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism."
—Nikita Khrushchev (on the demise of America)
"We will bury your grand-children without firing a shot" -Khrushchev (on turning the West communist from within).
"I am for SOCIALISM, disarmament, and, ultimately, for abolishing the state itself...I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the sole control of those who produce wealth. COMMUNISM is the goal."
“My object in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism. We are ruthless and ask no quarter from you. When our turn comes we shall not disguise our terrorism. The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.”
"The Law of Nature stands as an eternal rule to all men, legislators as well as others. The rules that they make for other men's actions must . . . be conformable to the Law of Nature, i.e., to the will of God. Laws human must be made according to the general laws of Nature, and without contradiction to any positive law of Scripture, otherwise they are ill made."
“America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its PATRIOTISM, its MORALITY and its SPIRITUAL LIFE. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within.”
— Joseph Stalin (Communist Dictator & Russian political leader of the USSR)
“Give me your four year olds, and in a generation I will build a socialist state.” “Destroy the family, you destroy the country.”
— Vladimir Lenin (Communist Dictator of the USSR who lead the Bolshevik Revolution)
There is a practical LEGAL reason why God (who is the sole legal granter of our rights and liberties) is acknowledged in all 50 U.S. state constitutions.
It is UN-American to trust in man.
The minute we'd allow the communists us to pluck our rights & liberties out of God's hand, and have them placed into the hands of men, they automatically CEASE to be unalienable i,e no longer guaranteed.
Our model of Government is why America is EXCEPTIONAL. There is NO other nation on earth like America.
There are 3 forms of government competing for world dominance:
1. Secular /Atheist / Communist model where HUMAN rulers decide your "rights & freedoms" with NO guarantee because what man gives man can take away. Our founders call this "TYRANNY of men."
2. Sharia: The Qu'ron is your constitution and HUMANS rule over you.
3. Judeo-Christian (USA) model: GOD is our sole granter of rights & liberties, power comes from GOD to us individually, we are sovereign and the government is our servant.
@Mr88playmaker Wow, that's a pretty stupid way to look at things.
Technically, every single government would fall into category 1 because humans make all the laws. God didn't give me my rights, and he doesn't have the power to throw me in jail or take my rights away. The police do...They aren't governed by god. Maybe you should try to come up with a way to look at things that isn't completely based in religion? Not everybody prescribes to a religious belief.
@Mr88playmaker 1. Secular model is the United States. Well, it was until people forced religion into the gov't in the 50s. 2.) We're in war with Sharia because it hinders freedom of expression. 3.) ....wasn't that the Middle Ages? Yeah, we already tried that, remember? Also, I don't think Communism should go with Secular. They're different in case you didn't know..
Thank you for so carefully putting together the information in this video, and for the genuinely calm presentation. Excellent example of how to present discussion. Personally, it seems most likely to me that O'Reilly and Coulter are classist, and believe that literalistic religious beliefs are necessary to keep the lower classes from trying to steal their wealth. All their arguments against liberalism, stem from a belief that liberals don't understand what is necessary to keep the poor in check.
YOU LEFTIES ARE LIARS,,, AND EXAGGERATE,, ,ISLAM IS GOING TO LOVE YOUS,,,,HAVE FUN LEFTIES,,TALIBAN,,BIN,LARDEN ,,LOVERS,,,,AND YOUR MAGIC WORD IS,YOUR ,RACIST,,,OR A RED NECK,,
@villanonickXgmail what's up your Ahole?, whats the matter. Troll?, why. Listen buddy/mate/bitch whatever you are, I don't care one iota about you or your Leftie lovin' mates. p1ss off. Troll mole, who cares, you don't know me so shut up.
@villanonickXgmail by the way, in case you are interested I enjoy watching FoxNews, I like Bill O'Rielly and Ann Coulter and I hate, dispise and want to vomit when I see that big lump of fat lard sh1t micheal moore and his bum chum mate, sean penn and a few others I don't feel like mentioning, you know who they are Leftie boy. Suk on that for awhile.
Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter are not only scary, hate-mongering ignorant losers but they are also complete hypocrites! If we were to allow people like them to rule us, we would be living in a world no different than that of Iran and Afghanistan – no liberties – no freedom…just fear and hate. Yet Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter would live the high life of decadence and extravagance, expecting us toadies to just be happy to live in their ‘light’.
As always, religion just promotes dissent. Consider this scenario for a "truly christian" christmas...No days off unless normally off - see how many people travel all over the country to get to family and friends. No presents as this is just capitalism. No christmas trees, lights, special dinners, santa, etc. as they are all pagan or non religious displays. Nothing but going to church and reading about the birth of jesus. See how special? WQake up- US christmas is all about bling and fun.
"As the Government of the United States of America, is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian Religion" . From the Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11, signed by John Adams, president of the United States of America, UNANIMOUSLY ratified by the Senate of the United States of America on June 10 1797!!! THIS WAS ONE OF ONLY THREE TIMES IN HISTORY WHEN THE SENATE RATIFIED A BILL/LAW UNANIMOUSLY IN UNITED STATES HISTORY!!!!!!!!
Thank God the ACLU is there to protect us or they and people like them would establish a false-christianity state religion that would prevent people from becoming real Christians.
Hey Anne Coulter, can you stop spouting your hatred and lies? ACLU is not a hate group and America was not founded by a Christian ideology. You are an idiot.
Jesus wasn't liberal, he believed in the individual's right to make their own decisions, he just tried to explain the virtue of acting in certain ways, and if everyone acted as he did, it would create a happy, healthy and great society, and it would have truly been great because the individuals, en masse, in society would have used their own free will to behave in such a manner, as opposed to the liberal ideology of empowering of the government to force people to act in the ways he proposed
@invisiblered We ARE the government. Some things are done better as a society than as individuals. Liberals know that fact. Jesus told people to pay their taxes. Jesus said rich people can't get into heaven. He said don't pray in public. Kind of the opposite of modern "conservatives." He was the most liberal man ever.
@sinistar99 1."We ARE the government" no, the federal constitution and its legal precedence, 'ARE' the government, 2. "Jesus told people to pay their taxes" the federal constitution gives to congress the power to levy taxes, so what exactly do you mean by that? (confused) 3. "Jesus said rich people can't get into heaven" this has nothing to do with liberalism 4. "He said don't pray in public" agian, this has nothing to do with liberalism
@invisiblered You do realize jesus condoned slavery, quoted the "wisdom" of the psychotic old testament & espoused vague moral platitudes that are flexible enough to suite anyone's needs ( & u can't argue that the peaceful faith is the right one cause it's open to interpretation) U can know the will of jesus by simply referring to the only evidence we have? a book of hearsay written decades after his death & whose contents were voted on 300 years later? I don't think so.
@TheAlphaPyro hmm, first you say "You do realize jesus condoned slavery" then say "U can know the will of jesus by simply referring to the only evidence we have? a book of hearsay written decades after his death"
so which is it, did he say those things or not? it seems like you're trying to attack me because i
believe in jesus, which is hilarious, because i dont believe in jesus, im agnostic. all i am saying
@invisiblered That's not true. Liberals are the most tolerated people in our society. They support human rights and animal rights. They support the constitution, shit, they wrote the constitution. Liberalism built our today's modern technology and social advancements. Everything you know from Television too radio shows are all liberalised. Because of Liberalism today, African, Asian, and Latino people have the same rights as White Americans.
@justinC504 - are you f'ing kidding me? Really? Liberalism is responsible for the world as a whole? Liberals are ONLY tolerant of those who share their own view. Liberalism breeds violent radicalism which is hardly tolerant of anything. How was Thomas Jefferson a Liberal? Read his writings and compare it to Liberalism, they are 180 degrees apart. How i the world did Liberalism build technology? Liberalism is anti-capitalist and wealth. Entrepeneurs builds technology not an ideology.
@RocktheStageNYC Those are some pretty broad generalizations, your comment contains absolutely no content or information to back up anything you said.
@invisiblered Please don't think of me as a jerk for stating this I'm only trying to foster an honest discussion here. Why model our behavior after jesus? Why not come up with clearer well reasoned ways to act that benefit the self and humanity and just do them instead of having to create this idol? Like I keep saying one can paint jesus to have been condoning of nearly whatever they want because he can be interpreted so many ways. literally, mythically, figuratiely or any mix in between.
@invisiblered I was simply making the point that you can't say that jesus modeled this or that behavior because we don't know. It may be true that many people say that jesus acted in a way that would create a healthy happy society. My point was that his actions and moral standings are always so vague that it leaves the interpretation of what would make this "Happy society" completely open to interpretation (including harmful interpretation. the slavery comment makes sense just give it thought.
@invisiblered only happy, healthy, and a great society for jesus. to say we must all act a certian way to appease one person is little more than fascism. are you saying we should all follow jesus bevause its what all the cool kids are doing? peer-pressure!
jesus and the government (in youre eyes) both tell people how they should live their lives. jesus doesnt promote free will at all.
If you believe the editorial crap in this video, you are only contributing to the misunderstanding many people have about America's roots. Revisionist history is not helping educate, it only serves to further a particular ideological view. America WAS founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. If you choose not to "believe" this fact, you disagree with historians and only contribute to the dumbing-down of the population.
Every one is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.
You are the only making up facts, America was NOT founded on Christian beliefs! It was the first country ever to be founded WITHOUT a state religion of any kind. In fact the FIRST AMENDMENT prohibits laws establishing any kind of national religion.
So please tell me the historians who think the US is a Christian theocracy? Oh thats right, YOU are the one revising history to fit your agenda!
Seriously, try reading the constitution, you moron
Maybe you should remind all the people that Jesus is a middle eastern liberal Jew. That should stir something up ^_^
I actually do not proclaim myself as a part of the Christian community anymore, due to people like Bill O'Riely, and simply practice myself. It's better to be good all the time, than only be nice for an hour each sunday.
I like this. Bill O'Reilly keeps doing what he can to create outrage, and is wrong on so many things. I've heard that O'Reilly beat so and so on every occassion, and when you look at what was said by the other person and what O'Reilly does to keep the other person from saying anything, in my impression, even if you think he won, its like being the kid who fails grade nine several times. Just embarrassing. Bits like this just make it more embarrassing. Keep up the good work LiberalViewer.
I think the ACLU should defend our rights against the TSA and other fascist government agencies. They are the biggest threat to our freedom, not Christmas displays. I realize the ACLU "tries" to defend our constitutional rights, they need to get their priorities straight. I will be a ACLU supporter if they can prevent our country from becoming a police state.
Bill oreily is an idiot and talking about all the wrong stuff I just think the ACLU needs to back off a little with the offensive posters against Christmas, I mean telling christians that Christ was a myth is a lot worse than a nativity scene in a highly viewable area
I often wonder if the ACLU is so anti-Christmas has anything to do with the fact that the German's started the practice of have a Christmastree (not Holidaytree) !!!
Oh, Jesus. Are you somehow trying to be subtly antisemitic?
The history of religious wars in Europe was truly nightmarish. Let's all start by standing passionately for the belief that all people, religious and non-religious, should be free to believe what they want without our forming prejudices against them.
I wish there were some consistent correlation between people's religious beliefs and how VIRTUOUS they are but there doesn't seem to be.
@brendaawareness said "Videos like this are as much a part of the problem as O'Reilly. He quoted Jefferson completely out of context to make it suit his needs. How 'bout a link so people can read for themselves."
I give the address of the page with the entire 1823 Jefferson letter underneath the quote I give at 3:58. I also include a link to the entire letter in the video description below the video. I provide accurate context on Jefferson's beliefs w/my narration at 3:42
Found the link, but... T.J was not officially a deist. He wasn't an official member of any faith and was known to have said that he would have joined a Unitarian church if one were available. It's a common misnomer that Unitarianism is not a Christian religion -- just because someone doesn't subscribe to the "myths" in the Bible does not mean they are not Christian. Why is it that liberals have such broad-minded views except for when a more narrow interpretation suits their thin arguments?
Actually, I'm usually attacked for too BROAD a definition of "Christian" when I include everyone who believes in the divinity of Jesus (eg KKK, WBC), but belief in that divinity is in all Christian denominations. You've neither shown that definition to be invalid nor supported your original attack on me that I "quoted Jefferson completely out of context " and failed to provide the source of my quote.
I hope that helps clear up your misunderstanding and
@Tonyokay87 Not sure why you think that. Also not sure why the rest of the conversation between LiberalViewer and myself isn't captured in this thread. While we don't agree, all in all it was an engaging and worthwhile conversation. Also not sure why you think I'm a flamer. I wasn't rude and merely offered my opinion which just happens to differ from that of the OP. Or do you simply think that the First Amendment only applies to people who think the way you do?
@brendaawareness You say that "just because someone doesn't subsribe to the "myths in the bible does not mean they are not Christian." That is crazy talk, similar to saying that just because one doesn't work for Fox News does not mean they are are not employed by Fox News. How could you be a Christian if you don't believe in what Christianity stands for, i.e. Jesus being the son of god.
@brendaawareness "just because someone doesn't subscribe to the "myths" in the Bible does not mean they are not Christian." I'm not sure what you are classifying as "myths", but a Christian is one who believes that Christ Jesus, hence the word Christian, is a real man sent by God, who was called the Son of God. A Christian follows Jesus' teachings in how we should live our life here on earth. If one believes Christ is a myth, they are CERTAINLY NOT Christian.
@pfisk82 You completely misinterpreted what I said. I used the word myth with respect to the Bible -- not Christ. There are people who believe in Christ, but believe the Bible is not a completely accurate account. There are people who believe in the New Testament, but think that much of what's in the Old Testament is inaccurate.
@brendaawareness Okay, thanks for clearing that up. It just seems that anymore people believe the whole Bible is just a fairytale, including Jesus. I pray for those people, because one we are all going to stand in judgement to One who created us.
@brendaawareness What distinguishes a 'christian' from anyone else is accepting the highly supernatural/mystical claim that a child was conceived by supernatural means, spent years performing supernatural "miracles", and was murdered -- only to rise from the dead. A "belief" in this story guarantees one's 'soul' eternal passage.
If you believe these "myths", you are a christian -- if you don't, you are not.
@brendaawareness Actually, I did read it carefully, and he did represent the views well. While the letter is more anti-atheist than he characterised it, the anti-Christian elements are clearly there. He even criticized the ruling translation of the Bible (and did so with a better translation).
When OReilly comes on, I switch to Fox BUSINESS News and watch Judge Andrew Napolitano on "Freedom Watch." I get the news of the day and learn about the Constitution! What a deal!
Videos like this are as much a part of the problem as O'Reilly. He quoted Jefferson completely out of context to make it suit his needs. How 'bout a link so people can read for themselves. Or how 'bout saying what he really meant -- this is what "might" happen if people continue to rewrite religion to suit their own agenda instead of what he wants to happen which is to restore the Christian doctrine to its original primitive state. And he talks about bias? Give me a break!
this whole butting heads thing between liberals and conservatives is so tiering and annoying. this is what happens when you have a two party system, both sides are unwilling to compromise on anything. just look at the campaign ads for the election coming up, nothing but smearing and mud slinging from both sides. it has gotten to the point that they don't give a flying fuck about the issues, they just want their seat, and their way, zero compromise.
how long will this stupid myth last, that makes christmas a christian celebration, it's non-sense, defending christmas in the name of christianity is like defending the holy-water in the name of coca-cola, it's stupid! the true christians ought to fight against christmas... it's cristal clear logic! i'm tired of so much ignorance man!
i mean sorry i didn't mean to go this hard on it, cause i am all about the celebration and family time and changing gifts its very christian in the intention but seriously people saying they want kids to know about santa, like its in the bible makes me laugh!
I think they just did that because they are pissed at the ACLU and want to antagonize them as much as possible, so they made their own assumptions and fed it to the audience in hopes of gaining support against the ACLU and therefore weakening them.
I decided to do a little research to educate myself on Anne Coulters claims, this is a christian country.. and NO it isn't.. haha.. omg what a lying bitch.
Jesus was a conservative, not a liberal. And I will fight for every Christian ACLU lawyer to debate that with me...provided he/she has never received any compensation from our government to express support for his view or opposition for my own (or anyone else's). All the rest of this video is obfuscation of the fact that the ACLU institutionally uses public money to supress religious expression, regardless of the religious views of the lawyers working within its network.
@mrrepublican1234 Christ isn't exactly the best example to use, considering there is very little evidence to support that he existed as an individual anyways. The ACLU as an organization has advocated on both sides of the separation issue, and to state that they haven't is being horribly myopic.
@plaebslayer There is no such thing as "anti christianism." There is the sensible reaction to a pushy reactionary streak in our culture, and there is criticism of religion, but this cannot be compared to antisemitism. There is nobody in this country saying that all Christians should be killed as part of some "final solution." For members of the dominant religion to play the victim like you are is an insult to people who have actually had to deal with real prejudice.
The ACLU has filed many lawsuits and continues to file them against anything that is related to Christmas if it is displayed on any kind of public property. If they love Christmas SO much then WHY do they do this?
@durwank You have difficulty reading? you couldn't possibly go to the ACLU site and fucking read the damn thing? You'd prefer to squawk in a retarded manner about how fucking ignorant and stupid you are.
Ann Coulter is such a sweet sensitive and understanding woman, her intelligent rational insight shows a compassion and love for all of humanity that's an inspiration to us all.
The ACLU is an enemy of the power elites. People are tricked into fighting against their own best interests. Unions used to defend workers' wages and working conditions but they've been demonized and almost completely destroyed. The ACLU defends the rights of the people - they have to go too.
Both O'Reilly and Coulter should shut up about the ACLU until they can understand what they're really all about. And Ann Coulter shouldn't be criticizing anyone else for being "hateful."
Oh, and she needs to get it through her head that America was not founded by Christians (they were mostly Deists and Unitarians).
Christmas is a holiday to celebrate the birth of a guy who brought with him everlasting torment for everyone who does not believe in his divinity. The ACLU message is about acceptance of all people in peace and harmony. The smear campaigns hate everyone who isn't like them.
I think the smear campaigns are more in the spirit of Christmas.
Bill O'Reilly, the grand hypocrite (an abomination in his bible he's always trumping), a man who was successfully sued by Andrea Mackris for sexual harassment and LIED (baring false witness, another abomination) to the world by saying he would sue his victim and "fight her to the end" - Until O'Reilly found she has taped his perverted calls - then Bill-o quickly settled out of court for millions. What can we expect from unfair and imbalanced Fox after hiring Oliver North, Rove & Beck. Sick.
It was only recently that The Ten Commandments were removed from the Public Schools and court rooms and there was no law that deemed this necessary. It was and continues to be a distortion of the first amendment. The amendment simply states that we will not have a forced religion but that we can choose any religion or deny any religion we wish without consequence from our government not abolishment of religion from the state as so many liberals claim. These are principles founded in the Bible.
But its a lie. The ACLU is hate. If they wanted you to practice you religion as you please, if they did they wouldn't sue a state or community every christmas for having something pertaining to christianity is out in the open, usually put there by the citizens.
Yea don't even waste your time considering this pile of bile as anything less than a lie. I wonder how LiberalViewer defines separation of church and state. Oh and yes the U.S. was found on Christianity whether or not many of the founders were deist, Christian or outright agnostic is irrelevant because our laws were still founded on the Judeao Christian God and his laws in the Bible. Ever wondered why we used to have The Ten Commandments hanging in our court rooms? (continued)
'Sigh' Yes, I'm sure Jesus was a fan of people NOT believing in him (i.e. freedom of religion).
Jesus wasn't a liberal. Most of us know that. He was BOTH conservative AND liberal. But this whole idea that our country is founded on Christian ideals is outright propoganda designed to disenfranchise those who aren't Christian.
Removing the Ten Commandments is kinda dumb (there are better ways to spend our tax money), but Thomas Jefferson believed in complete separation of church and state.
SoSmartSoDumb: No, actually, the ACLU represents freedom. Freedom is neither love nor hate, it can be either one. It isn't about having "Christianity out in the open," it's about having our tax dollars pay for it.
like most people who call themselves conservatives u fail to understand the fundamentals of the US constitution..to support christmas or easter by the government would be a sanction in favor of that religion..if u want christian symbols to be sponsored by the government then u must give the same support to Islamic, jewish, hindu or any other religious traditions equally u can not have one favored over the other..to avoid this issue there should be no government sponsorship of religion
@xadam2dudex No I don't want it sanctioned by the government. The ACLU attacks things the citizens do and force the government to force the citizens to take them down....which is wrong. I support freedom so i don't care what religion it is, if it's a holiday thing and you want your religious symbol on display then the government has no right to take it down.
if it's on public property they do.. the property belongs to everyone not just christians....too many people refuse toaccept the rights of others are as valuable as ur own rights..if u want ur religious symbols displayed do so on ur own property....if somebody wants to put their satanist religion display up next to the nativity scene that would be ok for u ? I doubt it
@xadam2dudex ....I just said let everyone do it. if its public property and some christian puts something up then anyone who wants to put something up should. But to attack the christian display just because no one of another religion has gone out and put something up is ridiculous.
I could care less if someone puts satanic symblos on display as long as its for the holiday thing. But I can't think of any satanic holidays.
SoSmartSoDumb: If it is on public property, then it is sanctioned by the government, and has no business being there. You can display all of the religious symbols you want on your own property. The ACLU isn't taking creches out of people's yards, it only becomes a problem when the display is on property maintained by our tax dollars.
Does the ACLU ever defend the American, Constitutional Right to "Keep and Bare Arms"? By the way John Kerry, this natural right has nothing to do with hunting.
sapofgold: The ACLU is a first-amendment organization, not a second-amendment organization. You have the NRA for that, and they seem to be doing a pretty competent job of making sure that crazy people are able to buy AK47s at gun shows so that they can shoot at the Antichrist or whatever. They seem to have that pretty much covered.
Oh man, Bill and Ann, these two dudes are just too much to handle, I'm sorry I can't finish this video I feel like I've just watched a Michael Bay movie; some part of my intelect has just been raped with idiocracy.
Lets see, who do I believe? Ann Coulter or the phony communist front group posing as a "Civil Liberties" union? Hmmmm lets take one second to consider their disingenuous fraud and malignant agenda to defame Christianity, defend our most aggressive enemies and promote Neomarxism.....I vote Ann Coulter. Liberals need to learn the dangerous difference between a moderate & a radical. Your ACLU shill blathering on about how she's going to spend time with her family is a phony salespitch. Give it up.
okay then. do what Liberal Viewer says and post some facts to support their neomarxism views and defending "enemies" is everyone's rights. dont let people like FOX rob you from the TRUE freedom that was given to us 200 years ago. seperation of church and state is neccessary to have an unbiased and fair judicial system. we ALREADY false arrest muslims. imagine religious state laws executing muslims for not being christians. = thus, the secular law of separation of church and state.
ZEDSTODT: "communist front group?" So, did the voice in your head tell you that, or was it Coulter or some other pathological liar? I used to think Coulter was a nutcase, but I'm pretty sure now that she just says what she thinks the morons who listen to her want to hear. How has the ACLU "defamed" Christianity? By saying that Christians don't have special rights, and have to follow the same rules as everyone else?
Zedstodt: The ACLU defends freedom of speech, regardless of the political content of that speech. Marxists, right-wing Christians, Jews, Muslims, everyone, as long as they are indeed practicing their 1st amendment rights and not denying others those same rights. Everything Ann Coulter says is a "phony sales pitch."
3:21 No matter how many times we disprove her bullshit statements she continues to pretend she's right. Apparently evidence and facts don't matter in her world. Reality > Fox Fantasy
The spoken commentary misses the point at one moment. Ann is not saying that the ACLU fails to support equal rights: rather she is ,making a (good or bad) analogy: The ACLU claiming to support Christianity is like the KKK claiming tio support equal rights.
As consistent as their views are, I find it hard to believe that O'Reilly and Coulter are actually that stupid. It seems more likely that they're just acting their parts for the monetary benefits. Being hated can be profitable. True: you have to wonder who'd be low enough to espouse such idiocy merely for the sake of profit, but greed makes people do crazy things, which leads me to my question. So: what'd be worse: they're simply playing parts for $, or they're actually that misguided?
Stop kissing these conservative's asses by making ACLU videos of some lesbian feminist with a big fake smile on her face stating she loves Christmas. Either be into Christmas or don't. Who cares?
Bill'O the clown is a criminal that should be ib Gitmo so they can waterboard him since he loves torture Ann is a ugly lying bitch to say the least and should be in the co-ed dorm of Gitmo too where she can get some from those arabs she loves

"No outdoor Christmas tree this year. My town..."
- public government endorsed display of religious demonology.
"light candles and gather for cocktail parties"
- private, personal celebration.
"Progressive liberals...look down their noses at anyone of faith"
- are you really so fucking stupid that you cant tell the difference and think they are analogous. American education system at its finest.

Does the term Red Herring sound familiar?
jasonfkg 5 months ago
@jasonfkg It doesn't matter if everyone was Christian or not. America wasn't founded on Christianity. The government shouldn't support any religion nor should it discriminate against any religion.
IKillBabyKittensLOL 5 months ago
@IKillBabyKittensLOL I think you're trying to imply that these were a bunch of Christians who simply happened to believe in the ideas that founded America. You can't ignore that there is a strong Christian element in the Declaration of Independence. Take the First Ammendment for example. These were descendants of puritans who faced religious descrimination from the less religious Elizabethans and were still facing some in the late 1700s. Religious freedom is not just a one-way door for atheists.

Mr88playmaker 8 months ago
There are 3 forms of government competing for world dominance:
1. Secular /Atheist / Communist model where HUMAN rulers decide your "rights & freedoms" with NO guarantee because what man gives man can take away. Our founders call this "TYRANNY of men."
2. Sharia: The Qu'ron is your constitution and HUMANS rule over you.
3. Judeo-Christian (USA) model: GOD is our sole granter of rights & liberties, power comes from GOD to us individually, we are sovereign and the government is our servant.
Mr88playmaker 8 months ago

Jesus wasn't liberal, he believed in the individual's right to make their own decisions, he just tried to explain the virtue of acting in certain ways, and if everyone acted as he did, it would create a happy, healthy and great society, and it would have truly been great because the individuals, en masse, in society would have used their own free will to behave in such a manner, as opposed to the liberal ideology of empowering of the government to force people to act in the ways he proposed
invisiblered 1 year ago 14
@invisiblered We ARE the government. Some things are done better as a society than as individuals. Liberals know that fact. Jesus told people to pay their taxes. Jesus said rich people can't get into heaven. He said don't pray in public. Kind of the opposite of modern "conservatives." He was the most liberal man ever.

@sinistar99 1."We ARE the government" no, the federal constitution and its legal precedence, 'ARE' the government, 2.

@invisiblered he never advocated for the empowering of the government to
force people to behave in the ways that he espoused, and me saying that jesus wanted people to
"acted as he did" because "it would create a happy, healthy and great society", is not my interpurtation,
its that of most christs' followers, and everybody, even if you're not religious, knows that.
even the 'great atheist' bill maher recognizes this, stating ....
invisiblered 1 year ago
@invisiblered "that christians should refer to themselves

invisiblered 1 year ago
@invisiblered That's not true. Liberals are the most tolerated people in our society. They support human rights and animal rights. They support the constitution, shit, they wrote the constitution. Liberalism built our today's modern technology and social advancements. Everything you know from Television too radio shows are all liberalised. Because of Liberalism today, African, Asian, and Latino people have the same rights as White Americans.
justinC504 1 year ago
@justinC504 - are you f'ing kidding me? Really? Liberalism is responsible for the world as a whole? Liberals are ONLY tolerant of those who share their own view. Liberalism breeds violent radicalism which is hardly tolerant of anything. How was Thomas Jefferson a Liberal? Read his writings and compare it to Liberalism, they are 180 degrees apart. How i the world did Liberalism build technology? Liberalism is anti-capitalist and wealth. Entrepeneurs builds technology not an ideology.

TheAlphaPyro 1 year ago
@invisiblered I was simply making the point that you can't say that jesus modeled this or that behavior because we don't know. It may be true that many people say that jesus acted in a way that would create a healthy happy society. My point was that his actions and moral standings are always so vague that it leaves the interpretation of what would make this "Happy society" completely open to interpretation (including harmful interpretation. the slavery comment makes sense just give it thought.
TheAlphaPyro 1 year ago

There's just infinite diversity.

LiberalViewer 1 year ago 25
Found the link, but... T.J was not officially a deist. He wasn't an official member of any faith and was known to have said that he would have joined a Unitarian church if one were available. It's a common misnomer that Unitarianism is not a Christian religion -- just because someone doesn't subscribe to the "myths" in the Bible does not mean they are not Christian. Why is it that liberals have such broad-minded views except for when a more narrow interpretation suits their thin arguments?
brendaawareness 1 year ago
@brendaawareness

@brendaawareness You say that "just because someone doesn't subsribe to the "myths in the bible does not mean they are not Christian." That is crazy talk, similar to saying that just because one doesn't work for Fox News does not mean they are are not employed by Fox News. How could you be a Christian if you don't believe in what Christianity stands for, i.e. Jesus being the son of god.
Larri87 1 year ago
@brendaawareness "just because someone doesn't subscribe to the "myths" in the Bible does not mean they are not Christian." I'm not sure what you are classifying as "myths", but a Christian is one who believes that Christ Jesus, hence the word Christian, is a real man sent by God, who was called the Son of God. A Christian follows Jesus' teachings in how we should live our life here on earth. If one believes Christ is a myth, they are CERTAINLY NOT Christian.
pfisk82 1 year ago
@pfisk82 You completely misinterpreted what I said. I used the word myth with respect to the Bible -- not Christ. There are people who believe in Christ, but believe the Bible is not a completely accurate account. There are people who believe in the New Testament, but think that much of what's in the Old Testament is inaccurate.
brendaawareness 1 year ago
@brendaawareness Okay, thanks for clearing that up. It just seems that anymore people believe the whole Bible is just a fairytale, including Jesus. I pray for those people, because one we are all going to stand in judgement to One who created us.
pfisk82 1 year ago
@brendaawareness What distinguishes a 'christian' from anyone else is accepting the highly supernatural/mystical claim that a child was conceived by supernatural means, spent years performing supernatural "miracles", and was murdered -- only to rise from the dead. A "belief" in this story guarantees one's 'soul' eternal passage.
If you believe these "myths", you are a christian -- if you don't, you are not.
It's really quite simple. And ridiculous.
Jefferson knew that, and so should you.

@mrrepublican1234 I'm sure "jesus" was a gun toting racist who was gun ho about starting wars with other countries.
jason4485 1 year ago
@mrrepublican1234 Christ isn't exactly the best example to use, considering there is very little evidence to support that he existed as an individual anyways. The ACLU as an organization has advocated on both sides of the separation issue, and to state that they haven't is being horribly myopic.

I don't think Bill O'Reily and Ann Coulter are smart enough to know or realize that Jesus was liberal.

The ACLU is an enemy of the power elites. People are tricked into fighting against their own best interests. Unions used to defend workers' wages and working conditions but they've been demonized and almost completely destroyed. The ACLU defends the rights of the people - they have to go too.

Both O'Reilly and Coulter should shut up about the ACLU until they can understand what they're really all about. And Ann Coulter shouldn't be criticizing anyone else for being "hateful."
Oh, and she needs to get it through her head that America was not founded by Christians (they were mostly Deists and Unitarians).
Good video, as always, LV.

Sick.

Was my comment removed? I wonder why.
liberalwankers 1 year ago
It was only recently that The Ten Commandments were removed from the Public Schools and court rooms and there was no law that deemed this necessary. It was and continues to be a distortion of the first amendment. The amendment simply states that we will not have a forced religion but that we can choose any religion or deny any religion we wish without consequence from our government not abolishment of religion from the state as so many liberals claim. These are principles founded in the Bible.
liberalwankers 1 year ago
What's this? More liberal stupidity.
liberalwankers 1 year ago
But its a lie. The ACLU is hate. If they wanted you to practice you religion as you please, if they did they wouldn't sue a state or community every christmas for having something pertaining to christianity is out in the open, usually put there by the citizens.
SoSmartSoDumb 1 year ago
Yea don't even waste your time considering this pile of bile as anything less than a lie. I wonder how LiberalViewer defines separation of church and state. Oh and yes the U.S. was found on Christianity whether or not many of the founders were deist, Christian or outright agnostic is irrelevant because our laws were still founded on the Judeao Christian God and his laws in the Bible. Ever wondered why we used to have The Ten Commandments hanging in our court rooms? (continued)
liberalwankers 1 year ago
'Sigh' Yes, I'm sure Jesus was a fan of people NOT believing in him (i.e. freedom of religion).
Jesus wasn't a liberal. Most of us know that. He was BOTH conservative AND liberal. But this whole idea that our country is founded on Christian ideals is outright propoganda designed to disenfranchise those who aren't Christian.
Removing the Ten Commandments is kinda dumb (there are better ways to spend our tax money), but Thomas Jefferson believed in complete separation of church and state.
Sonicisbadazz 1 year ago
Where's your evidence that they've done this EVERY CHRISTMAS?
Sonicisbadazz 1 year ago
SoSmartSoDumb: No, actually, the ACLU represents freedom. Freedom is neither love nor hate, it can be either one. It isn't about having "Christianity out in the open," it's about having our tax dollars pay for it.
yerk3 1 year ago
like most people who call themselves conservatives u fail to understand the fundamentals of the US constitution..to support christmas or easter by the government would be a sanction in favor of that religion..if u want christian symbols to be sponsored by the government then u must give the same support to Islamic, jewish, hindu or any other religious traditions equally u can not have one favored over the other..to avoid this issue there should be no government sponsorship of religion
xadam2dudex 1 year ago 2
@xadam2dudex No I don't want it sanctioned by the government. The ACLU attacks things the citizens do and force the government to force the citizens to take them down....which is wrong. I support freedom so i don't care what religion it is, if it's a holiday thing and you want your religious symbol on display then the government has no right to take it down.
SoSmartSoDumb 1 year ago
@SoSmartSoDumb
if it's on public property they do.. the property belongs to everyone not just christians....too many people refuse toaccept the rights of others are as valuable as ur own rights..if u want ur religious symbols displayed do so on ur own property....if somebody wants to put their satanist religion display up next to the nativity scene that would be ok for u ? I doubt it
xadam2dudex 1 year ago
@xadam2dudex ....I just said let everyone do it. if its public property and some christian puts something up then anyone who wants to put something up should. But to attack the christian display just because no one of another religion has gone out and put something up is ridiculous.
I could care less if someone puts satanic symblos on display as long as its for the holiday thing. But I can't think of any satanic holidays.
SoSmartSoDumb 1 year ago
SoSmartSoDumb: If it is on public property, then it is sanctioned by the government, and has no business being there. You can display all of the religious symbols you want on your own property. The ACLU isn't taking creches out of people's yards, it only becomes a problem when the display is on property maintained by our tax dollars.
yerk3 1 year ago
If it's on public/government property they do.

Does the ACLU ever defend the American, Constitutional Right to "Keep and Bare Arms"? By the way John Kerry, this natural right has nothing to do with hunting.
sapofgold 1 year ago
sapofgold: The ACLU is a first-amendment organization, not a second-amendment organization. You have the NRA for that, and they seem to be doing a pretty competent job of making sure that crazy people are able to buy AK47s at gun shows so that they can shoot at the Antichrist or whatever. They seem to have that pretty much covered.

Give it up.
ZEDSTODT 1 year ago
okay then. do what Liberal Viewer says and post some facts to support their neomarxism views and defending "enemies" is everyone's rights. dont let people like FOX rob you from the TRUE freedom that was given to us 200 years ago. seperation of church and state is neccessary to have an unbiased and fair judicial system. we ALREADY false arrest muslims. imagine religious state laws executing muslims for not being christians. = thus, the secular law of separation of church and state.
USAFSmiley87 1 year ago
ZEDSTODT: "communist front group?" So, did the voice in your head tell you that, or was it Coulter or some other pathological liar? I used to think Coulter was a nutcase, but I'm pretty sure now that she just says what she thinks the morons who listen to her want to hear. How has the ACLU "defamed" Christianity? By saying that Christians don't have special rights, and have to follow the same rules as everyone else?
yerk3 1 year ago
Zedstodt: The ACLU defends freedom of speech, regardless of the political content of that speech. Marxists, right-wing Christians, Jews, Muslims, everyone, as long as they are indeed practicing their 1st amendment rights and not denying others those same rights. Everything Ann Coulter says is a "phony sales pitch."

So: what'd be worse: they're simply playing parts for $, or they're actually that misguided?
chackers 1 year ago
@chackers
You're dead on, and I would say that it's the money that's doing the talking.
Bill O'Reilly used to be a history teacher if memory serves. He had to have stumbled upon accurate U.S history once or twice in college.
