  • Just bought the 2 disk version today. Truly ahead of it's time. I actually understand it now.

  • one of the best scifi movie

  • Tron 2.0 killer app is on Xbox. Tron Legacy is mentioned in it or it is called the Tron Legacy code. I really wish they would remake the game for the 360 I got the game and no xbox live for xbox orginal :(

I hate there is no option to skip cutscenes on New Game + and more upgrade oportunities or replay with previous game upgrades on new game + would be fun. In the game Kevin Flynn decides to step down as CEO (email). The game was more intense. The Corupted, ICPs, Seekers, and Datawraiths.

  • MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

I did not like Tron legacy that much I mean Kevin Flynn going from fun guy to guru? WTH? I know he metioned he had a war with clu and lost how? Especially when he is a user and can alter the grid even inside it. The enviornments were less like original Tron. I like the new Light Cycles and the things they brought from the game to the movie (the glider). The new disks look cool but I assume blocking is out. Tron 2.0's (the game) weapons being shown would have been cool.

  • so glad they did tron:legacy, disneys vision of a virtual world was finally brought to live in a spectacular fashion that is dazzling to all who watch it.

  • i seen it once and once only when it came out thought it was good but differant

  • They are some of the first computer effects

  • Very smart move by Disney to do a sequel, fantastic movie. It's really sad that most things in this world depends on the main stream arena accepting it, for anything great to be recognized as successful. I guess it's easier to sell hype and over kill in marketing, to make people believe something is the next best thing. Example :Twilight is the one of the most over rated movies ever made....but you can't turn a corner without seeing a promo on it.

  • i dont think this movie was a flop, considering when it was on VHS it sold many copies and all the arcade games and other merchanise it promoted and sold on the market.

  • so how does the sequel tron 2 connect with the first considering jeff bridges character makes it to the real world and in the trailer it shows him back there and living in the tron universe when his son arrives.

  • lol this was mega funny "and i thought programs where the things you watched on the telly" hahahaha

  • i know the high there voice , yet the locasion was used a few times other then

well i know your voice it was science you once spoken has the coffe an wine or other changed your way of life have you your own manner, still yet to know no makes friends

  • everything confuses those mindless zombies of the masses

  • I saw it as a child, so a lot of it that I do not understand but I want to watch. Precursor to the Matrix, I do get that feeling.

  • Can't wait for this film to come to Blu-ray! It's one of my favorites as well! It would make sense for them to release it on Blu-ray this Christmas to coincide with Legacy's theatrical debut.

  • I was 7 years old in the summer of 1982 when I saw this movie. I had no idea what the movie was about, but I didn't care! All I knew was that it was a cool movie, and it still is!! And who cares if you gave the ending away; those who haven't seen they must have been living in a box!!!

  • So they're only showing the sequel on IMAX $20 3D digital screens? Boo. Not all of us want to drive out to fucking suburbia to pay extra money to see a film as a theme park ride with glasses. More Walt Disney trying to put traditional filming out of business and make everything Avatar. And it doesn't even have anything in common with the Tron "look" -- it looks like Spy Kids meets Revenge of The Fallen.

  • Spy Kids meets Revenge of The Fallen. god i hope not

help us all if it is

  • Jeez....I was on 3 hits of unicorn blotter at a 70mm Dolby stereo theatre in La Jolla in 1982...and I got it...'course I was 25 and not 9...needless to say this movie stayed with me...and also E.T. over-shadowed Tron that summer

  • Your a twat for spoiling the ending. Prick. We wern't all born in the 80's you know.

  • 22 THAT means 1988 you was born ?

so whos the twat .prick now

  • @NBNA100 This comment actually makes no sense. I was born in1990. Well done you fucking greb.

  • @Cyberdine101 1988 or 1990 you are still a twat

  • @Cyberdine101 And you have arguement with people over the interenet, whilst I got out and get laid. I win?

  • did you know that in the year the film was released, it was banned from being nominated for "best special effects" in the film awards, because they thought using computers was cheating.

    hah!

    how times have changed.

  • Just bought this on DVD. Can't wait to find the time to watch it!

  • Good thing I was such a computer nerd back then, so I could understand the movie even back then. And here I am today, still playing computers.

  • Great review, excellent take on why it didn't do well in theaters. BTW, I'm sure that, you being a fan and all, you've seen the latest footage/trailer for the upcoming (FINALLY!!!) sequel entitled 'Tron Legacy'.

I'm mad pumped because the footage is absolutely looking sick and it really keeps the style of the original while including (and once again pushing) all the latest available rendering tech. It's due in 2010, and expected to only be available in IMAX 3D equipped theaters.

  • @uhprentis

The 2010 sequel looks like it's doing the same thing as the 1982 original did. It's using technology that's ahead of it's time. The preview of Tron Legacy was amazing. I've never seen CGI like that before.... this is probably the same thing I would have said if I was alive 27 years ago when Tron was released. Both are cutting edge.

  • What a great film this was. The story was way ahead of its time, the special effects were way ahead of their time, the cinematography/art direction was better than anything you'll see today. Along with "Big Trouble in Little China", this was probably the most underrated great film of the 80's.

  • It is a sci-fi film that has held up very well. Only thing that is dated is the hair styles.

  • an absolute remarkable film and knocks over tons of modern day sci fi films today, my second best film starring jeff bridges film to starman

  • Tron was realy underated for it's time.Though it went on to become a cult classic to it's fans.Still who would of thought that disney would make a sequel for it since it's release going back to 1982.

  • i been liveing in a box lol

  • NBNA100 i completely agree, this film was way ahead of its time and misunderstood, very similar to the Bladerunner film and both have stood the test of time to be greatly appreciated today.

  • One of the greats of the day, much like Logan's Run.

  • This was a great movie. At the time, it was pearls before swine, so to speak. The concepts expressed in the film helped me grasp concepts in PC training class. Thanks for putting it up.

  • I understood this movie the first time I saw it. I was 9 when I saw this movie, its really not that complicated.

  • it is if you are,r a kid

  • @NBNA100 MCP Means Master Control Program. Thought I would straighten that up

  • @hecatesmagickchild I saw this in the theatre and didn't have a problem understanding it. I was 11.

  • @morath11 good to know, I am glad to hear, i don't understand how it went over so many other peoples heads. I remember at the time , this video is right a lot of people were scratching there heads. Well you one of the few with brains out there nice to meet you.

  • @hecatesmagickchild nice to meet you too. I really can't wait for Tron: Legacy. It looks Effin awesome

  • Great review. It makes me want to watch Tron, but did you forget to mention that David warren was the basis for the voice of shockwave? Corey Burton, Shock's voice actor, did an impression of warren for G1, specifically mimicing warren's Tron character.

  • thanks i did not know that .

  • although i've seen this film tons of times i've never managed to catch the beginning of it..i always seem to come in when tron and jeff bridges meet each other in the cells. i liked the tron2 pc game though..not great but still...its tron!

  • Yeah, the writing in Tron being so far ahead of it's time is definitely one of the things that killed it for me when I first watched it. I didn't have any idea what they were talking about a lot of the time.

These days, the general public knows.

  • i saw the cover of it in a shop but it looked like a silly disney cartrton

plus in the simpsons when homers 3d he says (did anybody see the movie tron) they all sayed no then wiggem confessed they looked at him and he then covered it up by saying ( no i mean no)

p.s frist to view or comment

  • thanks man

  • TRON !! i loved this movie it was a bit weird at first but i love the movie and the concept only made sense like you said when i was older

  • year it gets better the older you are i think

    thanks mike
