    Some aircraft can be cold to fly in! The C172 I fly now is very cold compared to the Cirrus SR20 I flew previously (for obvious reasons).

    If I were to wear them, its usually when dealing with fuel as completing fuel drain checks usually involves you getting covered with AvGas / Jet A1 when checking a valve with high pressure.
