Hi Eddie I used to feed him nutro. Now he eats Royal Canin food which has a breed specific to Labs...my fiancee works for them. His coat skin and attitude have been great lately. He was from a naturally large litter. The mom and dad are both 90/110lbs, his brother is 124lbs and he is 118lbs, so he is bigger then most labs.

Also for the dog owners. There is a new dog bone being released called Blue Chews, which Veteadent produces. They clean the dogs teeth as they chew. Thank you for the kind comments. He is diving just over 6ft. He is a super clever dog and he is not affected by going under the water. I have a golden lab also which does not like to go under water bc his ears. Some dogs can do it and some don't.

Well when he was a few weeks old I carried him in the pool & held him there..needless to say he didn't know what was going on & I though he was scared..So for like a month I carried him in the pool w/ me and then when he was old enough to reach the door he would open it by himself and go running right into the pool

I think you need to bring your dog in with you so they know it's ok...be sure to show them the steps b/c that's why most dogs are afraid of pools...they don't know how to get out..

I have a Golden Retriever, he's 12 now and doesn't swim that much, but when he was young, he would go under water for balls etc. I've looked at other breeds, and like others, but retrievers are unmatched - that's why there are so many.

i took him in the water (with me of course) at about a month to 6 weeks and he has loved it ever since. When his favorite toy went under the water he put his head in after it. He eventually got comfortable and started putting his whole body under. Now he is a natural diver, better than some humans.

we have 4 labs, the mom, his bother and his sister. He's the biggest and weighs about 120-125lbs now, with very little fat. Every weekend they go swim in the pool and he's the only one that dives to the bottom. I just took his favorite toy threw it in the pool and he went diving for it little by little, he has a stubborn personality so he was determined to get! He's also been swimming since he was 6 weeks old
