I play Street Fighter, MVC, Mortal Kombat (I guess even though it's ASS) and a lil BBCS 1) can someone tell me why they say Hakumen is Low tier? I always thought he was high tier because of the range and he hits like a tank. 2)Did everyone get yelling Aye when Hakumen hits his opponent from Yuns Genei Jin or am I wrong? just curious is all

@coolbman2 Hakumen's damage is very sad overall, especially midscreen. His damage off of counters also got massively nerfed in this version of BB. Also, because of his large hitbox, a lot of characters have shenanigan pressure on him (for example Litchi's 5A) or have Hakumen specific combos (which is a problem versus Makoto), and despite his anti-zoning tools he has a really hard time against zoning characters like Hazama and Lambda.

I went to evo and played the game with noel and ive never played bbcs or bbcs2 ever. only bbct. and i was 2 3 wins away from winning my pool. its sad how shitty this game is being updated over the years. Horrible franchise get new characters then itll be worht the money.

I don't think LK played badly at all. It's just Spark's defense kept disrupting his rhythm. What do you do when EVERYTHING you do is always blocked or countered? Eventually you just run out of ideas, which is what happened to everyone who lost to him.

@Kenshin6321 if by "didn't play badly" you mean, compared with his other matches, then ok, sure. but Litchi and Makoto should be running all over Hakumen, yet somehow LK ended up letting Spark decide the flow in most of the matches. maybe it's lack of match-up experience, but that's still no excuse to get run over in grand finals lol.

I really don't see how Makoto is S tier, as far as I see it, most of the characters are relatively even, where any character can take down any other character. Just like here with Hakumen taking down Makoto.

@AtaeruCDX Makoto is considered to be S tier because she gets the most reliable wins against other characters. Besides that she has extremely fast normals which allow her to continue pressure and she has extremely damaging combos. Her drive is pretty ridiculous with how often you can use it to bind your opponent in combos.

@esparafucio from what I've seen (as in what's been recorded and uploaded) Japan's high level Hakumen's don't have a defense as good as Spark's. Their offense is generally better though, in that they'll go for and land more damaging combos as well as do more pressure while using less Magitama overall. Whether or not any of this means he's the best Hakumen in the world, is up for the reader to decide. The main Hakumen to keep an eye out for at the moment is A92 who qualified for SBO.

@the596 Indeed. I just think that to be considered the best in the world you must go to other countries and beat their top players, like Daigo, Isai and SephirothKen did in the past in other FGs. Which in this case, SBO would be a great test.

@esparafucio America's only SBO qualifier is August 20th in Texas. This was announced on August 8th on Dustloop. On such short notice, it probably is not possible to get an airplane ticket to Texas for a good price. From what I've heard, at the moment Spark has no interest in going, probably due to the previous reason as well as the fact that it was so close to EVO.
