U.S. Steel in Granite City workers ponder their future

The plant is back in operation. My friend works in the coke making side of the plant, and has been there about 10yrs, his father and brother work on the steelmaking side. I do know that they were laid off for like a year! He is back at work I know that much as of the last time I talked to him a couple weeks ago.

Really considering that there is a super majority in congress and this issue came to vote again under the current legislation? IF the Dem wanted to change anything in this country they could with out any reps. I personaly do not care for parties, I try not to pay attenion to the words but the actions and so far Berry and his super dems are screwing this country. Again Berry lied about the made in the USA. It sounded good in a speech but he would NEVER do it.

it was nice of US Steel to buy out Stelco in ontario canada then close the place just to get rid of there competition !! NICE !!!

this is sad. And now Obams has SCREWED you folks even more. Berry caved to the world. Instead of enforcing his MADE IN THE USA steel for all in country projects he will let forieng counrties increase their steel inports. ALL of those laid off need to write your senate and DEMAND that the made in the USE clause is enforced. We need to put THIS country back to work.

BTW, what is your union doing for you now?
